Guest Steve J. Rogers Report post Posted November 9, 2002 Just came back from a 86 Mets Reunion signing in Scarsdale's Last Licks (Steiner Sports were promoting it) with Carter, Dykstra, Hojo, Backman and Knight. Anyway they were supposed to be there from 1-2:30 before I guess going on to a big cocktail dinner tonight in NYC meeting up with lots more members of the 86 team. Anyway there was a HUGE line starting to snake around the corner and they were all signing mail orders before going to the people on line. Anyway after about a half hour Gary finishes signing a bunch of stuff and a store worker brings out yet ANOTHER box. By now Gary is like "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!" and demanded that they start getting the line moving. Don't know how many people were still there around 2:30 though, but he seemed pretty annoyed to still be doing mail order stuff when the line of people standing there was still waiting to start. Guest Steve J. Rogers Report post Posted November 9, 2002 Is the cocktail dinner going to be at Martin Luther King Blvd.? Don't have a clue, pretty sure its something like 3,000 a plate or some ridiculous price Card signing though was pretty decent, 20 bucks a pop per item, not bad considering the demand for the players presented Steve
