Guest The Man They Call Texas Blu Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 If have a different "favourite thing", post it.
Guest Sykotic2002 Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 The Cruiserweights. From '96-'98, WCW had some awesome cruiserweights: Malenko, Jericho, Guerrero, Mysterio, Juvy, Piscosis, Ultimo Dragon, etc.
Guest TerryJ11 Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 If I had to choose just 1 thing, I'd take the cruiserweights just slightly over the nWo. The cruisers gave WCW the absolute best and most entertaining action during that time period. With all the talent they had in the division, it was really hard for them to screw it up (and they did, on more than one occasion). The nWo was the angle that kept WCW running strong, so I can see why people would choose them as being the best thing for WCW during this period. They probably made more people watch Nitro than anything else, and they kept the angle very good for a nice stretch. I prefer wrestling over entertainment though, so that's why I say the cruisers. Guest Some Guy Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 The Cruisers were the best part of WCW at that period and in the end. They got the crowds hot and put on a hell of a show. The beginning of the nWo, which started at the begining of the Cruiser division, was the best part of 96 but fell off for the next 1 1/2 years.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 I also say the Crusierweights. It gave fans of wrestling and storylines something good. The wrestling fans got the crusiers, while the fans who liked the storylines got the nWo. The crusiers and the nWo carried WCW.
Guest Army Eye Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 No surprise that I vote for the NWO here. Best angle I've ever seen, made for great TV
Guest Metallica Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 Other - the mix of the cruiserweights and the nWo and how seriously both were treated. Watching the old WCW PPVs really makes me wish that the WWF would treat the smaller guys with the same amount of respect. WCW used to have at least 2 cruiserweight matches on every card yet the WWF can't even market ONE match for them.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 nWo 4 Life!!! Crusierweights were allright, but come on, they had no storyline based around them cause they didnt speak el ingles. La Parka ruled! As did Juvy & Rey-man. I especially like him when nWo smashed him head first nito a trailor. HAHA!
Guest Rose of Pain Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 La Parka Nuff said... (I still think Vince is crazy not pick up this talent he could get over with today's WWF crowd with his mannorisms alone and with out saying a word. I mean this is the same audiance that got the word WHAT over for crimanys sake so how hard could that be.)
Guest nWoScorpion Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 Vince try3ed matching WWF with his POOR EXCUSE FOR LUCHA LIBRES IN 1997, BUT IT BOMBED. Go find Rey, or Ultimo or Psychosis. Find someone! The WWF is once again the bigmans fed, sinbce all the smaller guys are on the smaller shows NOBODY WATCHES. PArka's entranc ewas cool, with his little chair act.
