Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 10, 2002 Report Posted November 10, 2002 Only two undefeateds remain. I wonder what's better...having 2 clear cut teams facing off for the championship...which results in OSU getting slaughtered OR having both teams lose and then have a major clusterfuck for the BCS. Oh...and the shitty Orangemen ended any hope V tech had. HAHAHAHAHA
Guest phoenixrising Posted November 10, 2002 Report Posted November 10, 2002 I would like to take "Major BCS Clusterfuck" please. Oh yes, I would love to see another Big 12 team not play in the Big 12 championship and still get in (this year it could be Texas). On a happier note, UCLA pounded Arizona 37-7, Tyler Ebell had ANOTHER 100-yard game. Too bad UCLA was out of the BCS picture early, or Ebell would be drawing MAJOR attention now, the guy reminds me of Barry Sanders, with moves on top of moves and the way he never takes a solid hit. Now UCLA gets a week to prepare for USC, who pounded Stanford today. Wow, the Cardinal offense seems to have left with Ty Willingham. Either that or they are trying to do their best impression of Notre Dame's offense. More Pac-10 news...WSU beat Oregon 32-21. Trailing 21-20 halfway through the fourth, Jason Gesser connected with Mike Bush for a score. Marcus Trufant picked off an Oregon pass and Gesser threw his fourth TD strike to Devard Darling shortly after to put it away. Washington beat Oregon State to end their home losing streak, and Cal beat ASU 55-38. Shocker to see Oklahoma lose...so now the BCS looks settled, assuming Ohio State and Miami win out. OSU's toughest test is vs. Michigan, while Miami has to play Pitt and Virginia Tech, who is slowly fading away. Shame that OSU and Iowa don't play each other this year, that would be an awesome game.
Guest Leena Posted November 10, 2002 Report Posted November 10, 2002 Oklahoma could still be ahead of Miami and Ohio State this week for #1 or #2. Remember that OU had a huge lead over Ohio State, and A&M is a quality opponent. I guarantee that if OU wins out, including the Big 12 title game... they will be in the title game over an undefeated OSU team. The BCS idiots better be praying OU and Texas lose in their final games... because we'll have another debacle like last if they don't.

No, OU won't be #1 or #2 in the BCS this week, because they lost to a 5-4 A&M team (how the hell are they a "quality opponent?") that has been unranked since about Week 4 of the season. That could change a couple of weeks down the line (particularly if Miami, OSU, or Texas lose), but as it stands right now, there's no way that OU will be #1 or 2. I expect that they'll be 5th (behind Miami, OSU, Texas, and Wash St), but they possibly could be fourth. They'll be no higher than 4th, however. So OU is certainly not out of the race yet as the season still has 2-3 weeks left...but if the season was over right now, they would be. What REALLY irks me though is that Texas will be higher than OU, despite losing to OU by 11 points (and I'm speaking as a huge Longhorn fan). That's a HUGE flaw in the BCS system: how can they deem it better to lose early in the year as opposed to late? A loss is a loss, period.
Guest Blackston Posted November 10, 2002 Report Posted November 10, 2002 No, there is no chance that a once-defeated Oklahoma (or Texas, Washington State, Iowa, etc.) will hop over an undefeated team. OU's only chance to play in the Fiesta Bowl would be a shakedown of massive proportion in the top of the rankings. Bowling Green still has a very realistic shot to play in a bowl game this year... I still like them to get to the Motor City Bowl, because I think that Northern Illinois is giong to drop one more. Even if BGSU gets shut out of the G-MAC and Motor City Bowls, I am sure that the Falcons will be a great at-large team for a bowl to take a chance on.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 Projected BCS Top 5 1.Ohio St 2.Miami 3.Washington St. 4.Oklahoma 5.Texas How awesome was that LSU-Kentucky finish. The best Hail Mary finish ever..IMO.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 Anyone else feel really really sorry for Baylor this Saturday? They play Oklahoma after an Oklahoma loss. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Choken One Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 Nope. Nothing like a Oklahoma Slughterhouse. 64-3. Seriously, ABC and BCS must be pleased...the two teams they WANTED to go undefeated have a shot at doing so and avoiding ANY contsroversy. BCS... Miami OSU Texas Oklahoma Washington St.
