Guest HBK16 Report post Posted November 10, 2002 That show was funny....Somtimes. But I enjoyed watching it. Why was it pulled? I want answers!
Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted November 10, 2002 if you'll notice, it dissapeared right after 9/
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted November 10, 2002 Oh... I didnt. Well, That would makes sense.
Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted November 10, 2002 TMB! was cancelled a whole month before 9/11. Too expensive and drew pathetic ratings. South Park cost less than half to make, and its standard ratings are even with Bush's best.
Guest MDH257 Report post Posted November 10, 2002 It was canceled before that. Comedy Central claimed that it was too expensive to produce. They did stop showing the reruns, but I saw an ad this week for a "That's My Bush" marathon. Edit: Kagato Otaku beat me to it.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted November 10, 2002 Sweet marathon!!!!
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 10, 2002 I believe it only lasted 12 episodes before being cancelled. The show could be great at times, but alot of it wasn't that great. It was a hit or miss show so i didn't really miss it that much when they cancelled it. I expected more from the show since Matt and Trey were behind it and it just never delivered on an consistent basis.
Guest MrRant Report post Posted November 10, 2002 I heard Matt and Trey didn't really want to do it.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 10, 2002 Well, that would explain why it didn't live up to the expectations people have of them.
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted November 10, 2002 I saw the marathon, the show was crap.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted November 10, 2002 I only saw a few episodes, and I laughed. The favorite part of the whole TMB story was one day I got my newest issue of National Review, and Comedy Central had an ad for the show on the back cover. Man, talk about wasted ad $$$. I doubt NR readers were going to watch TMB...
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted November 10, 2002 What's National Review? And "That's My Bush" seemed to try to hard. There were a couple laughs, but on the whole it was disappointing (I liked the theme song better than the show)... I mean there was so much possible material, and yet most of the plotlines barely utilized the fact that it was thje PResident at all; I figured they'd try for at least one cocaine joke (since if it was a Clinton sitcom every single joke would be related to infidelity). Guest Incandenza Report post Posted November 10, 2002 I enjoyed That's My Bush. More so than the last couple of seasons of South Park, which has been painfully spotty in terms of laughs.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted November 10, 2002 TMB was never about making fun of Bush or the Whitehouse, that's what lost a lot of people. It was more a parody of traditional sitcoms and sitcom cliches. It was more a take off of Leave it to Beaver than a political satire.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted November 11, 2002 TMB was never about making fun of Bush or the Whitehouse, that's what lost a lot of people. It was more a parody of traditional sitcoms and sitcom cliches. It was more a take off of Leave it to Beaver than a political satire. I've heard this too, but Parker and Stone had to realize that by choosing a political figure people were going to expect at least some political satire, and when they didn't get that, they were pissed. If they were strictly making fun of sitcoms, then it wouldn't have been too difficult for them to make up an entirely new set of characters. However, they chose the "name value" of George W. instead, so I have no sympathy for their idea being misconstrued.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted November 11, 2002 National Review is a conservative/libertarian magazine founded by William F. Buckley...
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted November 11, 2002 I heard they pulled the show cause it was just too expensive to run. I actually liked the show. The girls that played Princess was smokin hot. And the scene where George gives the criminal a leathal injection is a riot, as long as you take out the improv group. Most people I know hated the show though. Guest HBK16 Report post Posted November 11, 2002 The one where he gives the criminal the injection and the one where he takes the drugs are my favorite episodes.
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted November 11, 2002 I enjoyed That's My Bush. More so than the last couple of seasons of South Park, which has been painfully spotty in terms of laughs. What's your deal? In the Simpsons thread you said you didn't like Family Guy, and now this? Yeesh. "Laura, I just took a hit of Ecstacy."
Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 12, 2002 I loved the episode where he took the Ecstacy, becomes 'stuck in a k-hole', and floats after imaginary bananas out the window. I enjoyed most of the episodes, but I really wasn't surprised to see it go.
