Campaign f-ups I didn't hear about from Big Media

I have to ask you, would Big Media have brought these quotes to the forefront if a Republican had said them? If your only source of news is the NY Times, you may have missed these news bits. I seem to remember Big Media causing a stir years back when Dick Armey had a Freudian slip and called gay MA Congressman Barney Frank "Barney Fag," yet I didn't hear about these two instances...

Appointed Democratic Sen. Jean Carnahan's hairline loss to Republican former Rep. Jim Talent for a full term from Missouri can be traced back to her campaign blooper equating herself with Osama bin Laden.

 

"I'm the No. 1 target of the White House," rookie candidate Carnahan told a campaign rally. "They can't get Osama bin Laden. They're going to get me."

 

Then there was this gem of a quote that I happened to stumble upon, said by the Democrat Senate candidate during a debate regarding Rudy Giuliani:

I wouldnt call those Freudian slips as much as saying things that were negative about their fellow coworkers.

That reminds me of the SNL parody of Hardball that had Dick Armey. Chris Matthews (Darrell Hammond) kept calling him things like Penis Navy and Vagina Coast Guard.

 

I guess you just had to be there.
