Today is the 80th birthday of the greatest author on the planet today and perhaps ever, Mr. Kurt Vonnegut.

Celebrate by reading a few chapters of one of his books. I recommend Breakfast of Champions, or if you're new to his work, Slaughterhouse Five or Player Piano.

Here's to him finally getting that Nobel next year!!!

I HATED Slaughterhouse Five. I thought about kicking the shit out of the chap who recommended it to me and saying, "So it goes" while he collected his teeth off the pavement.

Vonnegut redeemed himself with Breakfast of Champions, though.

Hmm, I don't know how anyone could dislike it, but every reader has their opinion. I tell people they'll either love or hate his work.

I also thought Slaughterhouse was quite awful. However, I have not read Breakfast of Champions, so no teeth will be collected. Yet.

A lot of people cannot follow Slaughterhouse Five. It juat comes down to different types of readers, I suppose.
