Guest El Satanico Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Wow, I can't believe that Citizen Kane actually survived it's matchup with Clerks.
Guest J*ingus Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Ya know... I wasn't happy about Memento losing or Clockwork Orange winning, but I could deal with it. But THIS: Shawshank Redemption, The...23 vs Taxi Driver...16 ::loads 23 bullets into his gun::
Guest LooseCannon Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I don't like The Godfather very much, while I do like Fargo a whole lot. But I understand how the voting came out, and I can't really tell you cretins that you're wrong.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I'm glad Back to the Future finally lost. Citizen Kane is still boring and overrated. Glad the overrated Fargo lost. Memento should have won the whole damn thing
Guest evenflowDDT Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Eh, once you figure out what's going on, Memento is an amazingly standard neo-noir. I'm just pissed that I can only vote in one bracket, and probably wont' be able to vote in the finals at all.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Evenflow, I say go out and rent the movies. Expand your horizons. And Citizen Kane is probably the only movie in history that I would say if you can't see why it's a great movie (not like, but can't see why it's great, there's a difference) then you just don't understand it or are not watching it unbiasedly. Everything is pretty ok with me going into the next round. Some all time classics may not have made it, but a lot of newer classics and very solid films did. Overall, I would say this list has a definte "edge" to it. A lot of dramas and experimental stuff for their times.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Yea, I keep meaning to, but then its like I spend all my money on food, or I'm passing by a store shelf and go "OMG~! NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES~!" ... I'm well aware of the many movies I need to catch up on.
Guest godthedog Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 looks like it'll come down to 'godfather' and 'pulp fiction'. i have no idea which i'd pick from those 2.
Guest godthedog Posted November 14, 2002 Report Posted November 14, 2002 speaking of which, i got to see 'the godfather' at the student center yesterday afternoon. in the theater. the original 35mm print. ENVY ME.
