Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted November 12, 2002 At times like this I really hate WWE and think that they deserve everything they've received lately. No shit. The good workers deserve better, though.

Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted November 12, 2002 Getting rid of the brand extension would be the best idea they've ever had because its hurting the WWF/E alltogether, if this keeps on going i bet the brand extension will be over before or after Wrestlemania x9. I agree. The only problems though are that Heyman's wrestling-influenced booking may go away and HHH will be allowed to bury Benoit, Guerrero, and Angle. Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 12, 2002 They're making mistakes with the house show concept for sure. Month by month the attendance keeps declining. Having a house show on the same night as the other brands TV show is not smart, IMO. They certainly should think about that down the road (if this brand split ever truly succeeds), but not now. Plus to compensate losses, they are charging fairly high prices for the house shows, which doesn't help attendance. This is the same thing they are doing with ppv prices seeing it live AND on TV, and I don't agree with it at all either. Increasing prices to compensate dupes on the core fanbase who has stuck through thick and thin and have given so much to the company only to now have to pay even MORE instead of less. Of course the majority of these same people will continue to buy the shows, etc, but some won't. I know I have turned down two WWE house shows in a row in the area just because the price for tickets isn't worth it. It may be a illogical idea from a business standpoint, but lowering ticket and ppv prices would probably get more of a fanbase to check them out when they come to town or are on every month on ppv, just because its more affordable. Lets use an example that they get 7000 people in an arena for a gate of $50,000 or whatever. Now they lower ticket prices, get 10,000 people there for the same gate of $50,000. Much better concept because more merchandise will be sold, etc. Best part is you have a larger fanbase there watching, which is the whole idea in the first place, right? Plus with numbers down all over the board, I think its suicide to stab that knife farther by giving fans a reason more than the product just not being up to par as an excuse for not ordering a ppv or going to a show. Basically, I can't say the brand split takes all the blame for this decline, as there is issues with the prices of the shows as well. To boot there is the thing that has been around forever about the fact that anyone who follows the sport somewhat knows that nothing important ever goes down at house shows. Might be smart to change that philosophy one of these days, Vince. Theres still plently of work to go on making the split a success, SD and Raw definately need to be made much more seperate than this, because by the ratings, its still not rubbing off on just one or the other. But I don't think giving up is the answer.....not yet at least. If people think this is the worst idea the WWE has had with this brand split, consider the fact what the shows were like without it before and how the decline was still occuring. With or without this split, chances are the numbers would still be the same they are now. At least we have one show that is basically delivering most of the time, and maybe if we give this time to develop and allow them to split the brands even more, casual fans will realize this and follow the better brand accordingly. That is when things would get interesting because hopefully the other side then would start actually giving a shit about what they are doing and they would listen to what the fans are interested in. Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted November 12, 2002 Heh there was a Raw house show here last Friday, and I swear there weren't even 2000 people there. The entire upper level was curtained off, and the lower level was maybe 1/5 full, if that, even though tickets were only $11 with a student ID. They didn't even sell out the floor seats. It was an absolutely terrible show too, with Kane and HHH in a horrendously boring match as the main event, RVD wasted in a mixed tag with Spike Dudley, and Jericho nowhere to be found. I want my $11 back.
Guest res37618 Report post Posted November 12, 2002 I truly believe that re-merging the "brands" would go a long way to solving a lot of problems. The sides are too un-even, RAW suffers while SmackDown thrives, yet neither side is blazing trails with their house shows. I think it's just time to shoot this experiment in the foot and go back to having the OLD WWE(f) - that's what most people want to see. I want to look forward to an Angle/Benoit classic on Monday, when I haven't already seen the results, but that just won't happen now, will it?
Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 12, 2002 If Heyman got full booking power, then and only then would I support the brands coming together. Like I said before, I remember how bland the shows were before the split, and I don't want that back. Now I am at least getting one solild show.

Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted November 12, 2002 or I could start one of those long winded chants that last forever just like on the Conan O'Brian show. "We want Eddy Guerrero to be champ, we don't care for the HOSS~ even though every thing in Texas is big that does not mean that we wanted to see Bradshaw as champ or witness boring slow wrestlers with the look we want the Shooting Star Press SSP SSP SSP SSP SSP SSP SSP" Hilarious. Guest Brian Report post Posted November 12, 2002 I like the split, it's just not the time for it. Maybe they can ride it out, but there's not a whole lot of incentive to go to house shows anyway.
Guest Reverb Report post Posted November 12, 2002 Didn't Canada have a REALLY long winded Pro Stacy chant around Mania? Yes we did, it happened in the Molson Centre. I can't remember the exact chants, but they were lyrics from a song.
