Guest HBK16 Report post Posted November 13, 2002 There are very few episodes that I hate but the only reason I hate them is because I have seen them waaaaay too many times. Its like a song. The song is awesome but it gets over played on the radio then you hate it. Its the same thing with the Simpsons IMO.
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted November 13, 2002 I don't see anything wrong with the Frank Grimes episode either. I thought that one was funny as hell it shouldn't even be a candidate for worst episode ever.

Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted November 13, 2002 i thought Grimey was one of the best episodes ever. And I the only ones I hate are the clip shows the bad ones I just block from my memory so I honestly can't mention one I don't like.
Guest C-Bacon Report post Posted November 13, 2002 principle and the pauper- the episode with the "real" principle skinner. That, and what Rudo said, anything before season 2 and around the Frank Grimes episode
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted November 14, 2002 I didn't exactly like the "Simpsons: Behind the Laugher" episode. Sure there were some laughs but I think the whole "Lets spoof VH1's Behind the Music" thing was way old by the time they got around to doing it.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted November 14, 2002 RavishingRickRudo: Why did they have to kill her off in the first place? Bob's answer may've set the show's creative team into motion, but why NOT have a character die? It injects a little bit of realism into the show (but not too much, as I'll soon explain). Why did Homer have to be the cause of her death? Why t-shirts? Homer wasn't responsible for her death. He merely bent over. It's ridiculous to say he was the cause. Of course rape would have been perfect - wtf?! Why would I want that? I never suggested you wanted rape. I was using it as an example--an extreme example, yes--as something that would be more realistic. Forgive me for wanting something that - you know - had some thought put into it. My fault. Well, you obviously didn't want her death, but since they went with it, what would you suggest? I've already addressed this point, but if you have a better idea, I'd like to read it. Wait... It was funny? It was a sight gag "Hey, you know those guns that shoot t-shirts, lets have homer paint a bullseye with ketchup and move out of the way so Maude could get killed - it would be great!" The Simpsons have become one big sight gag and they base their plots around them. Her death was not funny, the circumstances surrounding it were. Have you seen Pulp Fiction? SPOILERS AHEAD: Remember when Vincent accidently blew Marvin's head off? That itself wasn't what made the scene funny--Vincent and Jules' reaction to it did. Now, if you were as offended by that scene as you were Maude's death, you're viewing the scene wrong. (That I thought that the events leading up to Maude's death wasn't that clever is a moot point.) I have not encountered one criticism of this episode that didn't revolve around that particular scene, and everytime it's misinterpreted. The naysayers completely ignore the sensitivity and compassion the episode shows for the situation thereafter, while still injecting it with humor. In the final scene, Ned is finally happy again, and, rather than make his joy an object of ridicule--as they have often done in the past--it embraces and shares his joy. Sure there were some laughs but I think the whole "Lets spoof VH1's Behind the Music" thing was way old by the time they got around to doing it. Eh i personally loved that episode. If for no other reason it was great for the ending with the Huckleberry Hound thing. "I was sooo gay, but I couldn't tell anybody" That was some classic shit there. Guest Daredevil21 Report post Posted November 14, 2002 I've gotta go with Incandenza on this. I thought that they handled Maude's death well. It put a bit of reality in there, but made you remember that it is a comedy. I like how they got the death out of the way so to speak, by having it happen within the first segment. That way, they had two more segments in which they could show all the compassion surrounding it. While it may sound odd to praise a show for not having the actual death of a character as the focal point, I thought it was pretty well-done how they showed everyone mourning but also, Ned trying to put the pieces of his life back together. Guest bravesfan Report post Posted November 14, 2002 Of the very few I would simply loathe watching again: --The All-Musical Clip Show --An episode last season, where Homer was accused of murdering both a endangered species and a elderly woman. Uggh...
Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted November 14, 2002 The first part of that episode was pretty cool. I loved the Scream-a-pillar, anyway.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted November 14, 2002 Okay, here's where I finally weigh in on all of this... Each episode from the first season had one or two funny things about them, but were overall fairly dull. The best season was the sixth season. Just about every episode was entertaining all the way through. Of those that I have seen, which doesn't count the last three seasons or so, the best are the Stonecutters, Hank Scorpio's Globex corporation, Treehouse of Horror IV, and the Sexual Harassment episode, just to name a few. Worst episode honors possibly go to the musical clip show, Marge as a police officer(the only season six show that wasn't awesome), or Homer as Kim Basinger's errand boy. And Maude's death was great. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge EDIT: Now I want to watch my old tapes.

Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted November 14, 2002 SPOILER CONTINUED!!! Why would Marge go for lipo? If anyone, Homer should go and get the accidential boob job since it would make perfect sense for him to get lipo. Plus, Homer with a boob job could be a hell of a lot funnier than Marge with one. Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 14, 2002 Was the episode where the baseball team was going to move to Albuquerque last season or the one before? I'm wondering, because I found that episode to be quite funny, but there were a lot of shows that I didn't catch last season.

Guest HBK16 Report post Posted November 14, 2002 I am not too excited about this season. It has only gotten worse and worse every season. They need to stop before they ruin the name and come out with a movie in a few years. Then everyone would be so excited to see it come out and they can have some fresh ideas. But thats just me... EDIT: Damn I suck at spelling.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted November 14, 2002 I'm in the minority here but I didn't like the Hank Scorpio episode. It just wasn't good without the second tier characters. other bad episodes Homer buys a Gun Lisa's a Vegetarian (what a little bitch) Lisa helps Mr.Burns (Brett Hart)
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted November 14, 2002 Homer buys a gun is classic. Lisa's a vegeterian has some funny lines. The episode with Bret Hart is pretty bad

Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 14, 2002 I like all three episodes, as well, but is it just me, or did the 'Homer Buys a Gun' episode look like it was drawn differently than the rest of the newer shows?
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted November 14, 2002 The Radioactive Man movie episode was the same. It used different, more contrasting colors, like the Butterfinger adverts. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted November 14, 2002 I actually prefer the more contasting colours on the ads. It's a lot more "fresh" than the episodes themselves...
Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 14, 2002 I don't think it was just the colours, they looked to be drawn differently, to me anyway.
