Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted November 12, 2002 So I'm trying to get my scanner to work, and it says that I'm missing "twain.dll", and I need to put it into the directory... I have no idea what I'm doing.
Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Report post Posted November 12, 2002 Here's what Microsoft Picture It! help says: Make sure your TWAIN driver is installed To downloadthe process of copying files from an external location [e.g., Web site or digital camera] to a computer pictures from a digital camera or scanner, you must first install the software drivers included with the equipment. If the correct software drivers, which usually include TWAIN or WIA drivers, are not installed, you will not be able to download or scan pictures. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Windows 98 or earlier: On the Microsoft Windows taskbar, click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders. In the Find All Files dialog box, in the Named box, type TWAIN*.* In the Look in box, click to select your local hard drive (usually C: or Local hard drives). Click Include subfolders, and then click Find Now. In Windows 2000: On the Microsoft Windows taskbar, click Start, point to Search, and then click For Files or Folders. In the Search window, in the Search for files or folders named box, type TWAIN*.* In the Look in box, click to select your local hard drive (usually C: or Local hard drives). Click Search Now. In Windows XP: On the Microsoft Windows taskbar, click Start, click Search, and then click All file types. In the Part or all of the file name box, type TWAIN*.* In the Look in box, click to select your local hard drive (usually C: or Local hard drives). Click Search. Note If the computer finds no TWAIN files, try reinstalling the software that came with your scanner or digital camera. Tip If you are still having trouble with the scanner or digital camera, check that you have installed the correct scanner/digital camera software for the version of Windows that you are running. Hope that helps.
