Guest cynicalprofit Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 The onyl reson I bought it was for Jet set radio, or whatever the gmaes called, its the one where you go around spray painting on things. Other then that 1 game, nothing really has jumped out at me. So im looking for recommendations because of the games listed at amazon.com, I didnt find any of them to appealing, except maybe power stone, a fishing game, and the racers. PS what racer do you recommend since all the ones on amazom got 4*.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Glad to see another Dreamcast being used. I play mines faithfully. Here's my top 5 i've been playing since i purchased it. Ok..lets do the obvious one. Assuming your a wrestling fan....can't go wrong with 1. Fire Pro D Wrestling (import) I've been playing this game constanly. I uploaded a new smackdown/raw pack recently...so i'm having fun with that. I got Giant Gram 2000 too, but this is more fun imo. 2. Tokyo xtreme racer 2- If you like customizing your vechicle down to the rims...then check this out. Although this is for a niche group mainly cause your only on one big ass highway at night and no weather change. Besides the lack of scenery change..this is one of most enjoyable racer i've played. 3-Shenmue- One of my favorite games of all time. Great engrossing storyline. 4- Power Stone 2- GREAT game for a group of people. Lots of intense actions...backgrounds are interactive also. 5- Tennis 2k2- This game basically made me a tennis fan (with the help of Serena ) Lots of fun..easy game to adapt to. World Tour mode is lots of fun...get to build up your pair of tennis players into stars.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Soulcalibur. Best damn fighting game there is.
Guest areacode212 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I have 3 Dreamcast games: UFC, Fire Pro D and Soul Calibur. I've barely even touched UFC because FPD and SC are so much fun.
Guest Renegade Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Virtua tennis 2 Shenmue II Crazy Taxi 2 MSR Sonic Adventure 2 Skies of Arcadia Fatal Fury Mark of the wolves (you'll need an arcade stick to get anything out of it) Any other rare Capcom/SNK game, since alot of them are DC exclusives.
Guest cynicalprofit Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Can I get fire pro translated at all? And where could i obtain a copy and for how much, and dont I need a boot disk or mod chip as well?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Shenmue is a must. Although if you want 2 you'll need a forigen copy. Crazy Taxi Marvel vs Campcom was kick ass, or Marvel vs Street Fighter or whatever it was. I had AJPW: Giant Gram 2000, got an original at a flea market for $10. I kicked ass with Kawada, loved that game. I also liked Phantasy Star Online, but ONLY online is it even worth playing. All I can think of is other games people have already mentioned. GOOD WAY TO PLAY IMPORTS...get a gameshark with the disk that goes with it. After you get that you could probably check gamefaqs or something like that to learn how to use it to play imports, It's simple, that's how I did it.
Guest areacode212 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 For FPD, I copied a boot disk called "Innovation Super Game Converter" using CloneCD, and it works fine. There's a good FPD translation guide at http://www.gswf.org/, along with all the downloadable moves (such as the Shining Wizard, Vader's Skyhigh Chokeslam and yes...the W-O-R-M). After playing for a while, you won't need the translation guide. I'm sure you can find a downloadable version of the game, but if you're going to buy a legit copy, be prepared to shell out a lot of $$$ (I paid more for it than I did for my DC).
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Ignore all the Shenmue people. The mood is a somber plod like a daytime TV soap and unless you like walking around the same 3 maps talking to people, it's no fun. Of course, if you're a SquareSoft fanboy you might slightly like it, because the hero brushes off all women and there's more cinematics then there are game.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 lol @ Jobber...I'm by no means a square soft fan...don't like any FF games. But Shenmue is one of the best games i've played. You have a point on the cinematics....and it does have a laid back mood alot of times...but it blends in so well with the action and story.
Guest razazteca Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Crazy Taxi 2 Sega Sports games Sega Smash Pack Zombie Revenge all Midway sports games ending with Z like Blitz or Hoopz all fighting games by Capcom or SNK Dead or Alive 2 Virtual Fighter 3 UFC Soul Caliber
Guest Downhome Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 If you do not buy Giant Gram 2000, if you are a Pro. Wrestling fan, then you are denying yourself of true perfection, period. Get it, love it, and ummm, love it some more or something. Ikaruga is a must buy (or burn). Read my thread on this game to learn more about it. Fire Pro D is another MUST HAVE if you are a Pro. Wrestling fan. Shenmue is a must have if you want a different type of gaming experiance. Tennis 2K2 is perfect, even if you are not a tennis fan, it's that great. Soul Calibur is another "perfect" game, get it as well. If you are into old-school games, then you can burn a NES cd with ALMOST every game ever released for the system, from USA to Japan to Europe, etc... You can also burn SNES, Genesis, Arcade, Atari, and other such systems cd's. By the way, you can buy a BRAND NEW, UNOPENED, Fire Pro. Wrestling D, for LESS than $20. I paid $10 for mine, and only $15 for Giant Gram 2000 (brand new as well). I don't know why you paid so much for it, where did you get it?

Guest The Metal Maniac Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 My friend has a downloaded copy of Fire Pro D, complete with it's own little boot on the disc itself. I'm sure you could find the same thing online somewhere - I think he snagged it off MIRC or whatever that thing is... Also, If you looked, you could probably find a save game that has the wrestler's names translated, at least. Another buddy of mine actually changed the name of all 200 something wrestlers in the game - We just copied his save game. Anyway, yeah, get Fire Pro and Crazy Taxi. All you need, really.
Guest areacode212 Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 Yeah, GSWF.org has a savegame file with all the unlocked wrestlers and the correct names.
Guest cynicalprofit Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 *sad* Went to go buy games today at the blockbuster blowout sale, sadly there was only like crazy taxi, which I would have bought if I knew they slashed the price to $3, but I didnt, Om something or another, and maken x. So sad they sold out of everything else. But I did get Santa w/ Muscles, Spring Stampeed 99, Slamboree 99, and Wrestling w/ Shadows, so I guess it sorta evens out.
Guest The Superstar Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 Get THE TYPING OF THE DEAD and a keyboard. It is NECESSARY. It's like Mavis Beacon teaches typing from HELL. BUT FUN!
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 14, 2002 Report Posted November 14, 2002 Can't be as fun as Soulcalibur, though. That's one of those games that develops into a "prestige" game of sorts. Being the person to completely make everyone your bitch at that game among a group of friends is a great thing. I'm that asshole. When using Astaroth, I cannot be defeated. It is mathematically impossible.
Guest goodhelmet Posted November 14, 2002 Report Posted November 14, 2002 these are the games i play when i dust the machine off... 1. firepro d (prepare to lose many days of your life o this game) 2. soul calibre 3. marvel vs. capcom 2 4. jet grind radio
