Guest JohnSkins Report post Posted November 12, 2002 There's going to be two CD's of Bill Hicks' released today, Love Laughter Truth which according to Rykodisc is a compilation of previously unreleased material culled from the multitude of live performance recordings Bill made for his personal use from the mid 80's until his death in 1994. In conjunction with the Hicks Estate, hours of these shows were reviewed, and the bits that were not released on Bill's other albums were edited and compiled to a single incendiary CD. The second CD is the one I'm most excited for; Flying Saucer Tour Vol. 1 Live in Pittsburgh is the first in a series of previously unreleased complete live performances from the Hicks Estate’s private collection. Recorded in 1991 in front of what Bill dubbed "the worst audience I've ever faced." - he whips out every trick in his book to win them over. The show is magic says Rykodisc. So all I need now is to score Riot Act these two discs and fill out my Rocket From the Motherfucking Crypt selection and I should be one happy camper tomorrow. Guest Incandenza Report post Posted November 12, 2002 It's amazing that Hicks' material is living on. I remember seeing him on Comedy Central a lot a decade ago, and being bummed when he died. Do ya suppose Tool's pimping of him helped his spirit live on for people who didn't watch a lot of stand up comedy programs back then?
Guest JohnSkins Report post Posted November 13, 2002 I'm sure TOOL helped out alot, I was introduced to him through the greatest site ever www.allmusic.com and I got a bunch of his stuff off of Audiogalaxy and was hooked. Since then I've introduced him to everyone that will listen.
