Guest goodhelmet Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 it might be a hard list because aerosmith is NOT the greatest band ever but i could prolly come up with 10 aerosmith songs that i enjoy enough to listen to over and over.... 10. what it takes 9. you see me crying 8. nobody's fault 7. no surprize 6. toys in the attic 5. sweet emotion 4. let the music do the talking 3. dream on 2. back in the saddle 1. chip away at the stone
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 No "Angel"? I'm not a big Aerosmith fan, but that's probably my fave (keeping in mind the only Aerosmith I hear is on the radio).
Guest Ravenbomb Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I dissagree on the whole 'Aerosmith isn't the best band ever' thing.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I disagree with Ravenbomb in disagreeing that Aerosmith isn't the best band ever.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I dissagree with bps dissagreeing with my dissagreeing that Aerosmith isn't the best band ever.
Guest godthedog Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 i think the fact that this thread degenerated so early into pointlessness is a perfect testament to aerosmith NOT being the greatest band ever.
Guest goodhelmet Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 i agree with godthedog who disagreed with ravenbomb who disagreed with goodhelmet who agrees with bps.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Aerosmith is My Favorite also, so I'll be happy to keep this Tread going and all you idiots who hate them, Get the Hell out of the Tread then. 1) Dream On 2) Sweet Emotion 3) Mama Kin 4) No More No More 5) Train Kept' A Rollin 6) Back In The Saddle 7) Falling In Love (Is Hard On the Knees) 8) Young Lust 9) Big Ten Inch Record 10) Just Push Play That's Hard to do when I have 30 CD's of theirs.
Guest goodhelmet Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Aerosmith is My Favorite also, so I'll be happy to keep this Tread going and all you idiots who hate them, Get the Hell out of the Tread then. hey dumbass, if all of us idiots hated aerosmith then i don't think i would have bothered making a top ten list. with that siad, if nothing else, aerosmith has proven that they have staying power. greatest of all time??? nah.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Why you getting all offensive? I didn't type any names. Just "Idiots." Anyway, I have to get ready for work so Fuck off.

" perfect intro to my aero top 10 in order 1-10 kings and queens seasons of wither nobody's fault taste of india toys in the attic dream on last child angel magic touch same old song and dance
Guest Ravenbomb Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 this thread has nothing to do with Aerosmith being the best band ever (which I think they are, fine if you don't)
Guest saturnmark4life Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 i hope even those who think they are the best band ever (gah) can't condone the shit they put out today.
Guest goodhelmet Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 this thread has nothing to do with Aerosmith being the best band ever (which I think they are, fine if you don't) i am down with aerosmith. trust me on that. and i respect your opinion but you made the comment so it was up to criticism. as for being called an idiot along with some other quality posters, i was offended. aerosmith on drugs rules! aerosmith old enough to be in menopause does not.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 yes, but you'll notice I didn't call anybody an idiot (in this thread at least). And as for condoning what they do now, compared to what they did in their prime, it sucks, but on it's own it's not bad. And I'd rather them have gone this long and still be around touring and possibly put out some more great stuff than have one or more of them die from a drug overdose and the band be gone forever.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 Children, please. 1. Last Child 2. Back In The Saddle 3. Big Ten Inch Record 4. Mama Kind 5. Sweet Emotion 6. Same Ol' Song and Dance 7. Livin' On The Edge 8. Walk This Way 9. What It Takes 10. Rag Doll
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 1. Back in the Saddle 2. Dream on 3. Mama Kin Funny how a band can have a few songs I really like a lot, yet at the same time have what is quite possibly my most hated song in the history of music with "I don't wanna miss a thing."
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 Damn, some people take name calling to personally on this board. I'll be the first to say Aerosmith's Recent Studio album, "Just Push Play" wasn't the best ever. Even though I do really like A few songs on it. I just never get how people say Aerosmith went to crap after the drugs? Granted, they stopped with the raunchy, blues, rock albums, but the times have changed. Some people only hear the Singles which get played on the Radio or see the Videos, there is other good "Hard Rock" songs on their albums. "Permanent Vacation" had some good stuff on it. DAMNIT! I forgot to put "Hangman Jury" in my top 10 list! "PUMP" was a Damn good album. "Get A Grip" has really great songs on it, Sold something like 12 Million Albums. The Songs "Get A Grip" & "Fever" Kick ass. "Nine Lives" is a really Great Album that doesn't get the Credit it deserves. Damn, I probably could have put the song "Nine Lives" in my top 10. Also, Aerosmith Now, is 10 times better Live then they Ever were on drugs in the 70's. Aerosmith's next Album is going to be the closest thing to their 70's work as their going back into the Studio in January to do a "Blues/Rock" Album.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 uh-oh. New aerosmith doing old aerosmith. I sense a Reload coming on...
Guest saturnmark4life Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 i think nine lives is pretty good actually, yeah. Couldn't listen to it now though. I'd feel like a kid. In a bad way.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 uh-oh. New aerosmith doing old aerosmith. I sense a Reload coming on... hey, as a big Metallica mark, shut up Really Reload wans't TRYING to be like "old" Metallica, it was indeed a gloryfied B-side compilation left over from the "Load" session. Since it kinda bombed theyre going a whole new direction for the next album, but I digress. I love Aersomith too. Not the best ever, but they're up there. As for a top ten list, god that's hard, but off the top of my head... 1. Sweet Emotion 2. Same Old Song and Dance 3. Last Child 4. Back In the Saddle Again 5. Toys In The Attic 6. Dream On 7. Walk This Way 8. Ragdoll 9. Dude (Looks Like A Lady) 10. What It Takes This will change depending on the day of the week though...
Guest Anorak Posted November 13, 2002 Report Posted November 13, 2002 Combination Sweet Emotion Dream On Back In The Saddle Mama Kin Walk This Way Last Child Sick As A Dog You See Me Crying Living On The Edge I'm surprised nobody mentioned 'Sick As A Dog' or 'Combination' as they both represent classic Aerosmith to me. The first half of 'Rocks' was the band at their absolute best.
Guest TheyCallMeMark Posted November 14, 2002 Report Posted November 14, 2002 I would say "Dream On" was my favourite, and it's probably in my top three songs of all time. It's perfect. Joe Perry puts on one of the finest lead guitar exhibitions ever, flawlessly fitting great licks between lines to just add that little emphasis and keep the song interesting. For a song without a guitar solo, it's a realy gem of guitar playing. Perry played this song with his usual feeling, but it's like he became SRV for a minute. The whole song moves me. Other than that you've got "Walk This Way", "Sweet Emotion" etc. etc. Except I hate "Jamie's Got a Gun". It's like a really bad version of "Hey Joe".
