Throw Bret Hart onto that, since he's right at the line. It's not ordered, just pooling names.

Fair enough. If they give Brock more time as a heel, he could be in the mix, especially if he gets the opponents he deserves.

Brock will be evaluated after his title reign is over. If he stays his course, helps get Angle over, then it'll probably be a real good heel reign.

what do you mean help get angle over??? angle is more over than anyone on both rosters.

Brock can make Angle uber. Mega-uber. As in ultra-face next Bret Hart style if he can work a great heated feud with him.

Well, Brock would add another dimension to Angle's character. I would compare that to Hennig/Hart or Bret/Owen back at SS '91 and WM X respectively. In the first instance, Bret was already getting pops that were second only to Hogan (maybe Warrior also), and he was just coming off a tag-team split and was only a contender to the secondary belt.

The same goes with Owen in the second instance. Coming off these matches, we learned more about Bret and Owen than in a year's worth of tag work or meaningless feuds.

Sure, Angle is way above IC title status, but the point is:

Angle certainly doesn't need Brock to get over, but a program with Brock would throw him into a league of his own.

ok i can agree with both of you. but if it is going to shoot angle into near-legend status, he absolutely must win the feud over an UNDEFEATED brock lesnar

That's the point. And it has to be as a face at Mania.

But brock is going to add that extra dimension to Angle's character, that face edge with the sympathy. I can imagine hype packages; both guys talking briefly about their amateur and professional careers followed by a WrestleMania logo; workout videos studded like Rock/Brock; montages full of their careers; emphasizing the clash of styles, how they rose, how they came out. Really, is there a fresh feud out there that is more tailor-made for each other like this?

Honestly, I can't see how they could bugger this up. But then I thought that Rock-Austin for Summerslam 01 and Triple H-Austin for Mania X8 were awesome ready made feuds with fantastic backstory that wrote themselves, and I got neither.

I understood where they were headed with Austin/Rock. Sidetracking it for the eventual showdown, but they just never got there.

Austin coming back will only pop a rating for a little while and then your back to square one: no new stars. WWE is in the hole now because they keep trying to bring in acts that pop a crowd or rating for a while, but don't put anyone over in the end. Austin could help infuse some life in the show for only so long. As for what brand Austin would go to, SD would be the place smarks favor because that's where the workrate is, however Raw is in most need of just about anything. Plus, who knows how an Austin/Bischoff fued would do.

In the end, I think they should just end the stupid brand split because it has been a complete and utter failure and has served to help the old guard hold people down rather than create new money players, which is what is so desparately needed right now.

Am I the only one who thinks brock is incredibly boring. He can't work and he has no mic skills. He not only lacks charisma, I don't think he has any at all. If Austin ever comes back I hope he beats the shit out of brock stuns him and we never see that stupid back tattoo again. By the way my favorite all time heel was raven from December 1994 until June 1997, he could make that useless piece of hamburger, Dreamer, seem interesting which is more than anyone else ever could

I agree only with the mic skills part.

He's slowly showing me that he can work...but remember, this is only his first year with the WWE.

He still has some room for improvment.

The Mic Skills is probably why they had Heyman with him.

Assuming he gets his real world problems in order, Austin should return at the Rumble but under NO circumstances should he go over Lesnar before Mania - if anything, Steve should be fed to Brock before Angle steps up and wins the belt at Wrestlemania.

Nope, I agree with you on this. Brock has no mic skills and has little charisma. I do see potential for growth over the next few years or so. But right now he doesn't do much for me.

Good GAWD, for all that is Holy, no no no Austin!!!

Remember how bad he was for the last 3-4 months before he left like a spoiled brat who wouldn't get his way again???

Remember how he was a no-selling, beating everyone with punch-kick-stunners, promos that were pathetic, reduced to nothing but Whats?, and the SAME crap he's been spewing from about 3 years ago?

How about the way he would always want to be on the top, and bitched and moaned when things wouldn't go his way?

I won't even get into the wife-beating, other than he should be locked up, and be bubba's bitch for awhile, NOT on TV...

I DO remember how so many people on here and other boards were SICK of him, now they want him BACK??? WHY?

The answer to the WWE's problems is elevating NEW stars, and hopefully overcoming the writing problems. NOT bringing back old names, and shocking storylines...

I hope Vince stands firm, and doesn't let this cancer back into the WWE....

Yeah, why worry about the cancer you don't have when you're saddled with the cancer you do HHHave...

Of all the Old Guard that Vince could bring back, Austin is probably the only one I'd welcome back with open arms. When given the proper direction and motivation (which he unequivocably wasn't before he quit), Austin is probably the most entertaining wrestler in all aspects. He can fight different styles, always gets a good crowd reaction, raises the level of any feud he's in, and has the capacity to elevate anyone he's booked alongside or against. You can't say the same about the Usual Suspects (HHH, Taker) who have been crammed down our throats for months and have done nothing but kill fan interest.

If they brought Austin back, he'd have a plethora of people to work with right off the bat. He could get revenge against Bishoff, he could be used to build up guys like Lesnar, Booker T, the SmackdownSix, RVD. But it all starts with destroying the political machine that's dragging this company down, and hiring writers who actually know how to create an engaging storyline and continuity throughout the entire WW_ landscape.

That being said, I hope he doesn't come back. Not until they clean house and show that they're willing to accept a slow rebuilding process. Bringing him in during Royal Rumble will only reek of more desperation, and he'll be feuding with HHHe-Man ad nauseum, since it's obvious this young up-and-comer needs all the rub he can get.

i'm glad that Austin is going to return to the WWE, but it still doesn't solve any problems, his return might give WWE an increase in the ratings temporarily but i wouldn't consider bringing him as a long term goal. Vince it's time to give Rob the real push.

I'll trade HHH for Austin, and Austin can put over two people, two big jobs. Austin can still make a star, Triple H can't.

As long as Triple-H is nailing Steph I don't think Austin will come back. He'd only be stepping right back into the same shit he left over.

More On Scott Steiner's WWE Debut & Steve Austin's Status

Right now, all signs indicate that Scott Steiner will debut as a RAW talent. After the horrible 3.1 rating that RAW got this week, WWE feels that it needs to do whatever it can to boost that show back up. Steiner could debut as early as this Sunday at the Survivor Series PPV.

Not too long ago, the plan was for Scott Steiner to debut as a Smackdown talent if WWE could agree to terms with Steve Austin and bring him back to RAW. However, with problems as bad as they are for RAW, it now appears that if WWE is able to bring Austin back, he will also end up on RAW along with Steiner. Of course, at this point, nothing has been agreed to with Austin and fans should not get their hopes up yet about his return.

Austin Steiner would really draw if they go into a Unpredicatable range...I am thinking Austin V. 1996 Vs Steiner Ala Pillman.

that would be a total mess to watch.

austin on raw would not make the show any better. he is a great wrestler and can be very entertaining, but he can't hold up the entire show by himself. who could he have an entertaining feud with? MAYBE rob van dam (if that)? plus there's almost no good workers on raw, which was one of austin's main complaints in the first place. if he does come back (which i kind of doubt anyway), either end the split or put him on smackdown. preferably the latter. then austin's happy, and i'm happy.

Put Austin on RAW, help deplete some of GOD's powers.... Steiner..dont know... maybe RAW...since SD! is doing well on its own... but then again Steiner/Angle... Steiner/Brock... could draw well...

how about stopping this roster split.. even if SD! has much improved cause of it... RAW VS SD! is stupid... its all WWE... If guys like HHH and UT didnt have soo much backstage leverage... things would be better... but fuck what are you going to do?

Sad to say, WWE best option is to KEEP the split. Why? They are the only legit North American product in the land and they can't have 50 men with multiple angles twice a week. They need to keep the seperate entitys just to keep the players balanced...the real problem is the whole RAW vs Smackdown angle...who buys it? There isn't even much tension hinted...occasionally Stephanie and Eric will have a confrontation but it really, so far hasn't done much to elevate this "WAR".

I agree. Everyone will get overexposed post-split and those who don't will get shoved aside.
