The UK wrestling show Revival was about 3 weeks ago but it was aired on TV here in the UK tonight.

 

Doug Williams had two outstanding matches with Eddie Guerrero and Jody Fleisch.

Just read the review at the Observer site.  Looks to be a great show.  So now all that is needed is someone to ship an NTSC copy over to the US for viewing

I have Eddy/Williams pegged at **** and the final at ***1/2

They shouldent have cut Storm/Fleisch at all. That poped the crowed big time live.

Watched the show last night and thought it was a good effort.  Shame the Eddy match wasnt longer but soooooo much better than wrestling ITV used to put on years ago on a Saturday morning.

Just watched the revival repeat and it was pretty awesome. First time I had seen any of the UK guys compete and Williams, Fleisch and a few of the other guys pulled off great matches. Fleisch's springboard shooting star to the outside caused a pretty big holy shit chant in our house. Hope this will convince the stations to get UK wrestling back on TV more often.

I was just wondering if anybody knew whether they had planned a follow up show as they could definitly build from that.

I think they are talking of a second event yet no plans have been made yet. They did indicate that the next would one could be up north.

Plans to bring Eddy back not Christopher. Don't get the cut tape. I was at the live event and the Jonny Storm/Jody Fleisch match deserves to be seen uncut. It was the best show that I've ever been to in the UK including the Wembley Summerslam. Only complaint Ulf Hermann didn't get mic time.

Much as I think Ulf ist Gut I think giving him mike time would be a badddd idea. From the first FWA show I've seen he's completely ignored their "don't swear" policy.

 

Anyway, I'd advise you not to get the cut version, I think Bob Bartnett (sp?) has the original. I saw the cut version and many of the moves I heard people raving about (moonsault off ladder, urinage of ladder, fire thunder driver off top rop) had been cut.

As far as I know nobody has the uncut version except the organisers of Revival - Bob got sent the cut TV version.

 

There is a strong rumour that the full version is being kept and will be released as a commercial title at a later date.

Just wondering if anybody had started a thread about British wrestling.  It would be great to talk about the up and coming talents but apart from this thread it seems as if the whole scene is dead.  Apart from the WWA coming in April apparently there is not much else going on.  Sorry to ask but does anybody know what time TalkSports weekly wrestling radio show is on?

I think it's picking up. I sent a mail to Bravo and their reply indicated that they had got a lot of feedback but had no plans to commission a full time show.

But and it's just an inkling I really think that something is going to happen with regards to National TV soon. As an advert for what can be done; revival is great.

If that happens then all talent in the UK is effectively up for grabs as TV exposure and money means that the best talent will work for whatever company has the contract.

Does anyone know how this would work? Would FWA have the TV contract and someone like Gary Steele have to sign for them or not get on TV in his home country?

I'm pretty sure that the Crabtree's didn't totally control wrestling when it was on ITV but have no idea how it worked out.

The TalkRadio show is definetely worth a listen. Tommy Boyd is a great bloke.

 

I'd love to see the show but would rather buy the full length version.
