Oh yeah, I completely forgot about this one. On that night, I really thought Mr. Perfect would be a legit upper-midcarder for many months. Ouch, the next night sure did crash me back down to reality. Guest godthedog Report post Posted December 30, 2002 ^ i was there live for that, & perfect almost stole the show. he impressed the shit out of everyone around me, & we tried to get a mr perfect chant going. also, when he was walking back after being eliminated, we gave him a standing ovation. while triple h & kurt angle were still fighting in the ring. TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Ya he awesome. I don't know if this was visible live but at one point while Austin & Angle had him near elimination he STILL was able to spit out his gum and swat it out of the air with his hand. Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted December 31, 2002 Since so many people are talking Mr. Perfect, I need to deviate away from the thread topic and ask ... am I the only one that thinks that the WWE expected HIM to have the huge comeback that Runnels ended up having? Why else would he last so long and do so well at the Rumble?!?

Why else would he last so long and do so well at the Rumble?!? I think you hit the nail right on the head! Unfortunately, it sure seemed over the course of the next few months that either Hennig's skills have greatly diminished thanks to age and injuries OR he was dogging it. And this comes from a true blue Mr. Perfect fan.
