Guest Chuck Woolery Report post Posted November 13, 2002 OOC: ...stupid buttons. ...fade in... Mike Van Siclen stands alone. The show, two days gone, rings true in his head as if it were only minutes ago. The pain... oh, the pain, how it echoes in his mind like a particularly long yell... his eyes, focused, lock in on the punching bag in front of him, thoughts entering his head as somewhere, a CD player is turned on... Look If you had One shot One opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted One moment... Before the Judge can continue Mike stands up, and in all his fury he throws a weak punch….. that a fully rested Judge Mental easily sidesteps. Mental gives a sharp elbow right to the back of MVS, grounding him quickly. Van Siclen nobly tries to get back up, but the Judge works quickly on him. He pulls Mike up so he’s sitting and locks in a dragon sleeper hold and a one armed armbar. After that, he sneaks in his right leg for leverage and begins to wrench Mike’s neck around with a grin. Would you capture it? Or just let it slip I let it slip... Mike's eyes focus in on the punching bag. Van Siclen flexes with his hands, the tape on them moving with it as he hops to the sides and forwards, looking like a Dance Dance Revolution pad, if it wasn't for his eyes... so deadly focused... Yo His palms are sweaty BAM! A stiff right hook! Knees weak BAMBAM! Left and right jabs! Arms are heavy BAMBAMBAM! Three consecutive with the right There's vomit on his sweater already Mom's spaghetti I should've had him... Mike hits the bag as hard as he possibly can, the large black bag moving backwards but its chain not breaking, sweat now rolling down Mike's face but he barely notices, absentmindedly raising one hand to wipe the sweat off before coming back after the bag... He's nervous BAM! Judge Mental... But on the surface he looks calm and ready To drop bombs Can I beat him? BAM! BAM BAM! But he keeps on forgetting What he wrote down The plan... the plan was to work his neck... what happened to that? BAM! The whole crowd goes so loud He opens his mouth But the words won't come out I had him... he was MINE... and then... BAM! He's choking how Choke artist... Everybody's chokin' now Four shots... The clock's run out You'll never win that title... time's up It was right there... you tapped... over pow! Choke artist... BAM! Snap back to reality Nobody to blame but yourself... BAM! OH! There goes gravity Quitter... BAM! OH! There goes Rabbit, he choked Choke artist... BAM! He's so mad but he won't Give up that easy But you did... Myers was out, but you couldn't even try to break Judge's hold... you just had to give up, and look where you are now. BAM! No, he won't have it A fleabag gym... BAM! He knows his whole back's to these ropes No title... BAM! It don't matter he's dope No Katelyn... BAM! He knows that but he's broke Nothing... but a miserable BAM! He's so sad that he knows when he goes back Broken-down BAM! To his mobile home that's when it's Nobody. BAM! Back to the lab again, yo This whole rap shit He'd better go capture this moment And hope it don't pass him Katelyn walks into the gym, the door catching Mike's interest as he whips around, facing his girlfriend for the first time since losing the title. She walks over to him, and he settles down, backing up against a wall and sitting down, where Katelyn sits next to him. You better lose yourself! In the music, the moment, you own it "So, Mike... you said you owned Matt?" You better never let it go "I do own him, Katelyn." You only get one shot "You lost, Mike, and you can't ignore the facts." Do not miss your chance to flow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime yo "I'll give you a bunch of facts, Katelyn." You better lose yourself! "Number one - I had a three-count on Myers. He was out for thirty seconds. That asshole could have taken TEN SECONDS per count... I still would've won. In the music, the moment, you own it "Number two - I was never pinned or made to submit by Matt Myers." You better never let it go "Number three - I am the best wrestler in this league, and just because I had one bad night does not mean I don't deserve that title." You only get one shot "Well, Mike... you seem to have a lot of bad nights against Judge Mental." Do not miss your chance to blow "What are you getting at, Katelyn? This opportunity comes once in a lifetime yo "You know what I mean, Mike... you're losing it." His soul's escaping Through this hole that is gaping "What the hell are you talking about, Katelyn? This world is mine for the taking "Mike, you talk about the World title like it's the only thing you have to live for." Make me king! "I've told you... I was born a fighter, and I'll never lose that." As we move towards a "You may have already lost a lot, Mike." New world order "No kidding. Have you seen my record?" Normal life it's boring "Don't play dumb with me, Mike... I know you." But superstardom's close to post-mordim "Do you really?" It only grows harder "Yes, I do... and I know you well enough to know a couple of things." Only grows hotter He blows this all over "You're not... you anymore." These ho's is all on him Coast to coast shows He's known as the globetrotter "You use to smile, you used to look like you loved what you did." And lonely roads, God only knows He's grown farther from home, he's no father He goes home and barely knows his own daughter "Now, look at you. You isolate yourself from me, from everyone else. The only thing you think about now is winning that title... But hold your nose cause here goes the cold water These ho's don't want him no more, he's cold product "I mean, jeez, Mike, we used to be so close... now..." They've moved on to the next schmoe who flows He knows don't none of 'em sold nadda Sold this soul proper "Do you even want me out there, Mike? Or do you think you can hide... you've sold out your beliefs in hopes of a World title." He's told it unfolds I suppose it's old partner But the beat goes on Da-da-do, da-do "And I know... I know, you're great, I know, you're amazin', but god damn, Mike..." You better lose yourself! In the music, the moment, you own it "God damn what, Katelyn?" You'd better never let it go "Are you ashamed of me?" You only get one shot "Because, Lord knows I wouldn't want to hurt my girlfriend's feelings." Do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime, yo "Lord knows, that nothing means more to me than you." You better lose yourself! In the music, the moment, you own it You'd better never let it go Mike looks at Katelyn, uneasy silence setting in... You only get one shot Do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime, yo Katelyn looks back at Mike, fear, almost, in her eyes, as Mike goes to speak... but thinks the better of it, and stops. No more games, I'ma change What you call rage Tear this motherfuckin' roof off Like two dogs caged "News flash, Katelyn. I was playin' in the beginning The mood all changed I've been chewed up And spit out And booed offstage "It all changed." But I kept rhymin' Step writin' the next cipher Best believe somebody's payin' The pied piper "When I realized I should stop, with the facade, and be what I came into this fed to be." All the pain inside, amplified by the Fact that I can't by with my nine to Five and I can't provide the right type of Life for my family cuz man These god damn food stamps don't buy diapers "I came here, to be the best... to have my name whispered, for nobody felt they could speak it." And it's no movie, there's no Mikhai Pfifer This is my life And these times are so hard And it's gettin' even harder Tryin' to feed and water my c-plus "And now... I'm going to accomplish that dream, and I will stop at nothing to do it." Teeter totter caught up between Bein' a father and a prima donna Baby momma drama screamin' on her Too much for me to wanna Stay in one spot Another day Monotony's gotten me To the point where I'm like a snail I've got to formulate a plot "I will be the greatest, Katelyn. Twenty-two months, and nothing to show for it but four failed title shots." Or end up in jail and shot Success is my only motherfuckin' option. Failure's not. "That will change... and if I sold my soul to do it... Mom I love you but this trailer's got to go I can not grow old, in Salem's lot So here I go it's my shot Feet fail me not This may be the only opportunity that I've got "...so be it." Mike Van Siclen stands up, his eyes cold, unforgiving, not caring about Katelyn, who simply stares at him, the person she had once known suddenly not there. The Illinois native stands up, not tossing another look at his girlfriend as he walks out of the gym, leaving Katelyn there, all alone... You better lose yourself! In the music, the moment, you own it You'd better never let it go. You only get one shot Do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime, yo A dark figure, unknown, walks into the gym, sitting down next to Katelyn... and tells her, "Let's talk..." You better lose yourself! In the music, the moment, you own it You'd better never let it go You only get one shot Do not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once in a lifetime, yo ...fade out... Guest realitycheck Report post Posted November 13, 2002 It's a RAINBOW! Heh. Seriously, another awesome promo. The song fits prefectly with the events and dialouge, although some of the lyrics are... bizzare. But that's Eminem's fault, so I guess we can get Judge to punch him or something. Set your mind at ease: You ARE getting Mike's new direction over, and quite brilliantly at that. It's another heavy-handed arthouse director esque filme JL promo in a long line of them! Good stuff. -Z
Guest Powerplay Report post Posted November 13, 2002 Mike does an awesome promo yet again, though the colors hurt my eyes . Still, a fantastic promo, man. Keep the heat up, man. BTW, I don't think I can top this one .
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted November 13, 2002 Not bad at all. Taste the rainbow, and the angst, and the rage. Now, let's see you make this work with "Bitch Please II." Then, I'll be really impressed.
Guest TheSatanicAngel Report post Posted November 14, 2002 If you do continue to use Eminem songs for your promos, you've got a new fan.
