Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted November 14, 2002 PETA = Crazy I don't understand how anyone could fathom the mere *idea* that an an ad campaign comparing eating meat to A FUCKING SERIAL KILLER was a good idea. I mean...gah. If I was related to one of the women killed, I would be SO angry right now. It's just so utterly tasteless. This really upsets me, since all of these murders happened where I lived, so one of those women could have been a relative or friend. So yeah, PETA is horrible horrible horrible. Discuss. Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted November 14, 2002 The ad ends with the words "If this leaves a bad taste in your mouth – become a vegetarian." Yes, I've been left with a bad taste in my mouth, but going to be a bit more carnivorous now. You know PETA could've stopped at the drugging and slaughtering. Bringing in the allusion of murdering a woman is damn insulting, especially to those families directly affected by the murders. I know they're the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals, but toward whom are they directing this advertising? Humans, and a few more just walked away in the opposite direction of their views thanks to this campaign.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted November 14, 2002 It's up there with the Katie Vick angle. Maybe not worse, but at least even.
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted November 14, 2002 My reasoning as to why this is worse than Katie Vick - At least Katie was a fictional character in a very fictional situation, as opposed to an actual murder victim. That's why I see it as worse, anyways.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted November 14, 2002 PET-uhhhh: "You are nothing more than a MURDERER!" *proceeds to simulate sex with a package of ground beef* Sorry it's old, but I couldn't resist.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted November 14, 2002 Gee, and PETA wonders why so many people don't take them seriously. Tune in next week kiddies when we compare the D.C. sniper picking off targets to rednecks huntin' for deer...
Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted November 14, 2002 These people have their priorities so fucked up anymore it's sad. How can you put the lives of animals over the lives of humans?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 14, 2002 I'm going to eat a member of PETA some day. I swear, this will happen. Just like USDA grain-fed grade-A beef, only it's grain-fed delusional hippie. Comparing a serial killer's horrific acts to EATING SOME BACON is just so asinine and completely sickening that there isn't really a place to start. People > Animals. Why is that so hard to understand?
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted November 14, 2002 We're all forgetting the important thing: The one guy in this article is named Jack Cummer. Oh yeah, PETA can eat my feces.
Guest big Dante Cruz Report post Posted November 14, 2002 Okay, that tears it. PETA was an entity that irritated me to no end with its stupid campaigns that either made no sense or were completely false (like drinking milk leads to osteroperosis). But this has changed that. I outright despise these backwards tree-hugging, bunny-screwing hippies. If you can't make the distinction between a human life and an animal, if you can't tell the difference between a human that was tortured and brutally murdered as opposed to animals that are fed and treated well and slaughtered quickly for the benefit of the rest of the world, then quite frankly, I think that you're a close-minded idiot and that your opinion has less than no value in any forum for the rest of your miserable life.
