Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted November 15, 2002 It's too hard to win as RVD. Other than that, it's okay.
Guest BifEverchad Report post Posted November 15, 2002 Is everyone playable at first, or do you need to unlock characters like JBI?

Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted November 15, 2002 They did a good job adding in new features and fixing up the season mode, but I'm getting tired of the engine. If you are a big fan of the Smackdown engine then it is well worth the purchase.
Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted November 15, 2002 Great game, i noticed that if i use HGH is easier for me to win but if i use someone like RVD or Jericho i keep on getting buried.

Guest notJames Report post Posted November 15, 2002 I've been playing SD2 religiously since it came out (never got 1 or 3), and from what I've seen and read, SD4SYM looks even better. Ideally I'd like to try the game out before I buy it, or at the least get some specifics about the game, so if anyone can provide some info on the following questions, I would be most appreciative. 1. I play primarily with created wrestlers... I'm a big fan of duplicating actual wrestlers who aren't necessarily in the game and then running them through season mode. How is the latest iteration of Create-A-Wrestler in terms of having many moves/outfits to choose from, etc?I'm especially curious about outfits and maneouvers for wrestlers that already exist (I know that Rey Rey isn't in the game, but they have his masks). 2. Related to question 1: in SD2, their "generic" wrestlers were supposely fashioned after specific puro wrestlers or non-WWF wrestlers. Is this the case in SD4? 3. Can a top-rope finisher be pulled off of anything other than the top-rope, unlike in SD2? I would love to have someone pull off an SSP off a table or a car in the parking lot. 4. Are these specific moves in the game: Top rope sunset flip Top rope sunset flip powerbomb Foot stomp off the top rope (ala Spike Dudley) Owen Hart's running belly-to-belly Vader Bomb (kinda like the Banzai Drop, except landing with his belly instead of his ass) X-Pac's/Rico's triple corner kick Pinning crucifix bomb Electric chair (like Noble's, not the one Edge does where they land on their face) Victory roll Body vice/Canadian back breaker Gory special into a spinning neckbreaker Old School Expulsion Booker T's Harlem Hangover 5. How about these double team moves: Kaientai's camel clutch/dropkick Demolition's double team elbow drop Radicals' double team knee drop Doomsday Device/Code Red Steiner Bros' top rope bulldog and/or DDT Double team suplex and/or superplex (not E and C's stacked superplex) Edge and Rey's PowerBombsAway Powerplex (superplex/splash) Nova and Chetti's Tidal Wave 6. I heard that you can't play any women wrestlers in Season Mode. Is this true? And does that apply to women wrestlers you create? Now the most imporant question: Can you play more than one person/character during Season Mode simultaneously? Like have one guy going for the IC belt while another is going for the Cruiserweight title? Thanks in advance for any answers y'all can give.
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted November 15, 2002 How much memory does it use anyway? I remember the last one took up like half my memory card, despite not really saving much other than created wrestlers. It is less of a problem now since I bought a new memory card purely for this game, but I am still curious. Also, have they made any noticeable improvements to the game's engine. I know it is basically the same engine, but is there anything really different about it? I actually like the engine, as it is faster paced and seems closer to the "WWF style" of wrestling, though I had some qualms about the selling in the game. I'm waiting to unlock stuff to check it out--looks very thorough with tons of good moves. Noticed a Magnum Driver (pump handle piledriver aka Viagra Driver). Warrior and Earthquake's finishers are in, surprisingly. 2. No generic wrestlers that I've seen. Sorry. 3. Yes, I've done if off the guardrail, among other things. I haven't messed around too much since I haven't wrestled many Hardcore or FCA matches. 4. Game isn't on right in front of me or I'd check--the Huston Hangover (that's how it is spelled in the game) is in for sure. 5. Not sure on double teams--I'll get back to you or some one else can help. 6. If you make a person's gender unknown they can slip by--you'll need to wrestle all men, though. However, Lawler STILL will make "puppies" comments. Now the most imporant question: Can you play more than one person/character during Season Mode simultaneously? Like have one guy going for the IC belt while another is going for the Cruiserweight title? One wrestler at a time, I'm afraid. =/ Bif: Unlock the costumes first in Season Mode and you'll have choices of costumes in all modes. Stealing finishers: L1 & L2 Need two Smackdown! icons. Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted November 15, 2002 FUNK ALL 'DAT SHIT! THE GAME HAS THE SHIIIIIIIIINING WIZARD! Not the pussy Hurricane kick the back of the head, the tried, tested and true Muto-riffic SHIIIIIIINING WIZARD! Also, the Earthquake stomp/sit combo had me rolling on the floor. Didn't expect that one. I'll say this much: That is one detailed-ass create a wrestler. You could seriously spend an hour alone on the masks and facepaint. Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted November 15, 2002 2. Related to question 1: in SD2, their "generic" wrestlers were supposely fashioned after specific puro wrestlers or non-WWF wrestlers. Is this the case in SD4? I noticed that some of the pre-made created wrestlers that they have are current WWE Superstars that didn't make it in the game, like John Cena, Jamie Noble, and Chris Nowinski. Now the most imporant question: Can you play more than one person/character during Season Mode simultaneously? Like have one guy going for the IC belt while another is going for the Cruiserweight title? Nope, one season per person
Guest notJames Report post Posted November 15, 2002 Thanks for all the input, people. How exactly do these seasons work? Do you just keep fighting until you become the World champion, or does it go through a whole year of PPVs until WM, and then that's it? Like I said, I never got SD!3 (or No Mercy for that matter), so I have no idea how it works.
Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted November 15, 2002 I just want to know if the season mode is anything like the season mode in Smackdown 3? Meaning, once you win the title, is that it? That was my only problem with the season mode in Smackdown 3. Also, what are the graphics like? Better than Smackdown 3, or about the same? I'm probably getting the game for Christmas, since I don't think I really want to spend money if I don't have to.

Like I said, I never got SD!3 (or No Mercy for that matter), so I have no idea how it works. It spans 2 years, starting at the Raw after WrestleMania in 2002. You go through the whole draft in the first show. The first year is basically a condensed version of the WWF storylines from the past year, then the second is stories made by Yukes. Guest fazzle Report post Posted November 16, 2002 Holy shit. Just had a fucking GREAT streetfight between Maven and UT(I was Maven.) I would say it's the best match I've EVER had on a Smackdown game, and could easily rival some of my better matches from the AKI games.
