How do you rename moves? I read you can do it somewhere, but I cannot figure it out.

I don't believe it's possible and who would want to do that anyway? Who gives a jolly damn what something is called, as long as it's the same move it doesn't matter.

I just like the names of moves, for some reason. Plus, a lot of their names are dumb (like Flip Suplex Pin for a double underhook bomb).

Thats fair enough. What shits me is you can't change their attire. I mean i don't think more than 5 or so charecters are actually equipped with their current attires.

That option should have DEFINITELY been added, i mean, it is in all other damn THQ wrestling games.

Fuck you, Yukes

They did a good job adding in new features and fixing up the season mode, but I'm getting tired of the engine. If you are a big fan of the Smackdown engine then it is well worth the purchase.

that's all i wanted to know i hoped they had clean it up a bit and vamped up the saeson mode great so it is definitely a good deal

I started off as Brock Lesnar and won the title in my 2nd match which unlocks some stuff. Whenever I get stuck in a tag match I just go ahead and get dq'd cuz it takes too long and all i want is the stuff. Now I'm at the 6 man Hell in a Cell and its damn chaotic. Anybody got a strategy?

I'm getting tired of using the same wreslter, is there any way to change people without starting from scratch again?

6 man Hell in a Cell is easy.

1: leave ring.

2: have someone follow you out of cage.

3: climb cage

4: let AI climb too.

5: beat the shit out of him.

6: let the rest come out side ring and onto cage top

7: throw him through the cage.

8: submission moves for a while

9: pin

10: win match.

2 and 4 are the hardest steps.

I just try to pick a guy, wear him down, and strap on my submission move

boy, reading that back, that just sounds wrong

I'd agree with that. If you got a submission finisher, use it. Or if you got a guy like Brock, most of his moves focus on the back, so his bearhug tends to get a submission pretty quickly.

Another question: what's up with Stephanie McMahon in the game? It seems impossible to beat her in a women's match...

I had that problem with Hogan at first, then I learned the secret: Keep hitting, don't give him a break, and lots of submissions.

Is there any way to use other wrestler's finishers (non-submission or aerial) in your regular grapple moveset? I'd like to add Test's rolling neckbreaker thingy and the Dominator to my usual cache prior to decapitating folks with the burning hammer, but don't seem to have that option, I think.

two move questions:

1) the inverted brainbuster/side sideout tombstone move known as "Emerald fusion 1"...who does (or invented) that move and what's it normally called?

2) Likewise, "Tombstone Piledriver 2", which is like a scoop slam into a snap kneeling inverted head drop...whose move is that? A nasty, nasty move.

I think you can use other people's finishers in your regular move set, but only certain ones. I seem to remember the Dominator, but not the Test Drive.

You can do any other finisher that is possible, as long as you have 2 finishers (have two smackdown bars full), and also know which needs the d-pad (or doesn't, or on the mat, etc.) to nail it.

I've done just about everyone's finisher that you can possibly do. Although, using a d-pad one is a pain in the ass, cause it's hard as hell to do. Yet, the d-pad secondary finishers are the hardest to pull off because you gotta time it right in most cases.

Although, the only time I use other people's finishers is when I go up against Brock Lesnar (gotta use his Burning Hammer [i refuse to call the damn thing an F5] against him), SCSA (Stone Cold Stunner THIS!), Triple H (your a Pedigree? Pedigree this you HHHoss!), and of course... ROCK (go back to Hollywood with a People's Elbow Farewell). Or just whenever I get tired of seeing my own finisher so many times in a row.

Flik, don't take this personally, because I'm just saying this for the brief moment of joy that comes with being an elitist, but I'm gonna channel Dace here and tell you that Lesnar's fireman's carry into a spinning face plant is definitely not a burning hammer. A Burning Hammer is the sheer drop Reverse DVD, as done by Kobashi, where he picks the guy up off the turnbuckle, walks towards the center of the ring and then drops him on his head with pretty much no protection on the way down. You get it when you win a match at Survivor Series and choose to unlock moves list #8, which also happens to include Misawa's Tiger Driver '91, known here as the "dangerous driver".

For those who've been trying...

I Finally Discovered how you can make the Dragon Kid's Dragonrana work as a Finisher!

There is a Corner move when yuor player runs at him in the corner... he hits him, make the guy staggers out and your character instantly goes to the top rope! that gives you enough time to hit the Finisher button before your opponent recovers.

1: Emerald fusion and all its versions belong to Misawa. He was most known for doing these durring the head dropping years of AJPW.

2: the Scoop Tombstone is the setup Dyanmite Kid used alot in Japan for the Diving Headbutt. Most known person to take such a bump was Tiger Mask Sayama.

3: Off tangent, All versions of the Shinning Wizard are done by The Great Muta. Pretty fun kneeing the shit out of anyone who gets in the ring.

BTW: Who would win in a match Muta or Triple H? Both use the knee even though both have knees shot beyond repair.

Slightly wrong, Midnight...

The scoop tombstone thing may have been used by Dynamite Kid, but the one in the game, and the reason it is in the game is because it is Hiroyoshi Tenzan's finisher, the Tenzan Tombstone Driver, or TTD.

Also, the shining wizard is Keiji Mutoh's thing. Technically the same person, granted, but when he wrestles as Muta, even now, he uses the moonsault, or the moonsault press, as a finisher.

Mmm, being picky is fun.

Two questions:

How do you remove the top turnbuckle pad?

Can you continue season mode as other wrestlers?

Can only do one season at a time with one wrestler...

and you press the top right button to remove the corner pad you have to point towards it while you do it.

Just curious, what moveset do I have to unlock to get Marifuji's moveset (which includes Sliced Bread #2, aka the Shirauni, or however you spell it (see, I'm a fart smeller (a phrase that sounds so much funnier when said))).

Styles, I don't remember which move set exactly it's under, but the name for the move in SYM is "Ninja". It looks great, though getting back attacks at the turnbuckle is annoying as fuck.

I just bought this game a week ago, and MAN, am I pumped up. Here's a transcribe of what happened to me a few hours ago.

Last Smackdown before Survivor Series 2002:

"Raw vs. Smackdown - Six Man Tag Team Match"

Representing RAW: Stone Cold, Rob Van Dam & Kurt Angle

Representing SD!: Brock (Me), The Rock & Chris Benoit.

This is basically a preview match of the upcoming six-man elimination match coming up at the Survivor Series PPV. Austin and I start it out in a slugfest, then after winning a short fight, I tag in Benoit. Austin gains the upper hand on Benoit with the fists, then tags in Angle. For a good 5 minutes of the match, Angle and Benoit have a suplex BATTLE.

Angle cuts Benoit off from our corner, then the Raw brand proceeds to do a 3-on-1 attack to take Benoit down a few pegs. Benoit fights back (meaning I climbed in, clotheslined the referee, then grabbed a chair to lay out Angle) as he gets the hot tag to Rock and ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE.

A pier-six pairs everyone up into mini-brawls- me with RVD and Benoit with Austin- and this goes on for a few minutes outside, while Angle and Rock (the legal men) are fighting on the inside. Benoit tries to climb inside, but gets held back by the referee. While the referee is distracted, Austin sneaks in, KICK WHAM STUNNER to Rock, and he's out like a light. Angle seemingly has the pin on Rock, but BENOIT(!) sneaks in as the referee goes to scold Austin. A sledgehammer shot and a flying headbutt later, as the Rock crawls over to Angle....1.....2.....3!

The actual PPV match, a 6-man "Tornado Tag Table" match, went by pretty quickly.

Austin throws Rock through a table (RAW 3 - SD 2)

I spinebust Angle through one (RAW 2 - SD 2)

Benoit germans RVD (SD 2 - RAW 1)

It's down to Benoit and I against Austin all by his lonesome. Benoit, obviously not thinking at the moment, climbs upon a table set up in the ring and stands there, and in one fell swoop, a clothesline to me, toe kick to Benoit, KICK WHAM STUNNER and Benoit's dead.

Brock and Austin. The match-up everyone wanted to see from the get-go. BUT...Austin goes to prop a table in the corner, as I recovered from the clothesline, so he doesn't notice me hurdling towards him. It's too late to move, as I clothesline Austin twice to take the match and give sole control to Vince (and Stephanie) McMahon.

I LOOOOVE this game.

I agree, this game is great for one simple reason:

Undisputed Champion: The Hurricane.

I love Smackdown.
