Guest MrRant Report post Posted November 15, 2002 My favorite NBA announce is Kevin Colabro of the Sonics. Lots of energy and knowledge and can really get you into a game.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 15, 2002 I don't watch much NBA anymore outside of a handful of playoff games and haven't for several years. The only announcer i hate is Bill Walton other than him i don't really care who is announcing.
Guest papacita Report post Posted November 15, 2002 Does Barkley count??? Anyway, I'd say Marv Albert *sigh*, not for his skills or anything, but I'm just really used to hearing his voice during games.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted November 15, 2002 My favorite announcer is easily new Griz coach Hubie Brown. "Now I'm Hubie Brown....what I've got here, I've got some some kids with huge upside...Shane Battier is a kid who works hard on the boards, he's got great upside. Jerry West has a lot of young talent on this team...there's a lot of upside here." He goes on like that for like 20 minutes. You should see him at the draft. Guest El Hijo Del Lunatic Report post Posted November 15, 2002 Did anyone see Hubie on PTI? He got asked one question: why'd you take the Grizzlies' job. His answer took about 6 1/2 minutes. But it's a FIVE-MINUTE SEGMENT! I can't wait to hear him talk about "upside" during a losing streak. Oh, and Bill Raftery is easily my favorite now. THE KISS~! LUNATIC - Just gimme the light and pass the 'dro.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted November 15, 2002 HA! Hubie rules. On sports radio around here, they played a clip of the press conference the day after and said "That was a live feed. The Hubie Brown press conference has now entered it's 32'nd hour". Then they did impressions of Hubie trying to tell his team an entire play within a 20 second timeout. I have to find out how to watch some Grizzly games.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted November 15, 2002 Bill Walton *ducks the rotten tomatoes headed his way*
Guest alkeiper Report post Posted November 15, 2002 I remember when they actually let Barkley announce a game on TNT..... "For those of you just joining us...." "What do you mean just joing us? Where were they?" "I dunno Charles, maybe they had a PTA meeting or something." "Pta Meeting my ass"
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted November 15, 2002 I don't watch the NBA as much as I used to, but I have to say Barkley, even if he doesn't count. He's too damn funny...
Guest starvenger Report post Posted November 15, 2002 He goes on like that for like 20 minutes. You should see him at the draft. Oh man, the draft. Brown, Barkley and Kenny Smith RULE that thing. If it wasn't for them it'd be boring as hell. Anyways, my vote goes to Sir Charles. Here's to hoping that his talk show gig lasts a while.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 15, 2002 Barkley is the greatest at anything...as for announcer...Costas was great. Yearns for the return of Costas/Albert.
Guest DragonflyKid Report post Posted November 15, 2002 I prefer the local Kings announcing team of Grant Napier and Jerry Reynolds. They do Kings games for a local affiliate as well as for Fox Sports Net. The Kings are the only team I watch on a regular basis except when playoff time rolls around then I'll watch most games. Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted November 15, 2002 Shoot -- I forgot all about Costas announcing NBA games. *Suddenly gets flashback to playoff game years back when Costas had to pimp the XFL Championship Game during an NBA playoff game when only a week or so before Vince McMahon was calling him out on Costas' HBO show*
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted November 15, 2002 I know ESPN didn't bring him over but Snapper Jones and Bill Walton had some great banter: Walton: "That's a terrible shot! He has no business even contemplating throwing that brick up! Awful!" Snapper: "Uhhhh Bill.....He's made that shot the last 5 times down the floor before that!" Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 15, 2002 If it wasn't for Walton's ability to say dumb things...he'd be out of a job...how much longer before that Tall Bald "Matt Tolliver" or something like that gets a push? He played for the Clips a few years back.
Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted November 15, 2002 Bob Costas and Marv Albert are the two that I'm most used too hearing. Everyone else I've heard haven't been anything special to me.
Guest alkeiper Report post Posted November 15, 2002 How about a posthumous nomination for Chick Hearn?
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Over in Cleveland, Michael Reghi does a great job, even if The Cavs are 2-11. I can honestly picture him working for ESPN / TNT in the near future. He's got that 'it' charisma.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted November 30, 2002 My favorite is Bill Walton because he is the only announcer that tells it like it is. He does not sugercoat anything or to anyone! I hate Steve "Snapper" Jones and Tom Tolbert the most. Also, does Jack Haley on Fox Sports West count? That man is nothing but a poor man's Bill Walton.
