Tommy Dreamer on TE 3 really touched me tonight...

Something about Tommy Dreamer telling the story how his dad went blind and had Parkansians *sp* disease and he had surgery in 2001 and for 2 weeks his Dad had 20-20 vision and he saw Tommy debut with RVD in the WWF in probably Tommy's greatest moment in his wrestling carrer......that just really touched me and really hit me hard. I know this is kinda of a random post, but it just makes me go back and realize how awesome that 10 minute segment on Raw on July 9, 2001 was and not just the fans still look back on it and love it.

Just another note about Tough Enough since this is the only thread I've seen on it. Rey Mysterio just came on, and they made a big deal about him taking off his mask, and showed only a back view of his head, and Al Snow's like: "You should be deeply honored that he took it off for you". Um, I guess we're supposed to forget the 3 years in WCW where he wrestled without the mask...

It's cool to see an everyman "Superstar" visit TE. Probably every contestant in TE are better natural athletes than Dreamer right now. But Dreamer shows what can happen if you bust ass and give it everything. You don't have to be the strongest, most handsome, quickest, trendiest, ect. guy to achieve stardom. Dreamer reminds me of someone who could be a buddy of my dad's.

Because precidence is that Psicosis lost his mask in Mexico a few weeks before he did in WCW.

The mask thing would mean a trillion times more had he not lost it in WCW. Granted it let him grow as a character, but Rey was never the same for me after that.

Kelly got in because she finished last in the final challenge during the casting special. It's tradition to give a spot to that person.

Lets look at the cold brutal reality here. If by some miracle Kelly does win. How the hell can she wrestle? She has like terrible asmtha (sp) or something she'd fall over in a serious match. And I doubt wrestlers are gonna tiptoe around her. Hell Saturn might not take it run out and throw stiff clotheslines and Suplexes to put her out of her misery.

Yea Tommy's appearance was emotional and inspiring. Too bad they showed but two minutes of his visit.

 

I've been a huge dreamer mark, if only cuz I'm also from Yonkers,NY and I mark out every time that town is announced lol

I used to love Dreamer's "I'm not out here to cut a babyface promo" babyface promos. Talk about wearing your heart on your sleeve. It's like watching the end of Rocky II.

 

I wish the Usual Suspects had half the passion for this business as Dreamer does. Maybe RAW wouldn't suck so bad...

 

Incidentally, I wonder if he cried when he married Beulah... I canonly imagine how many hankies he used during the ceremony...
