Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted November 16, 2002 Report Posted November 16, 2002 Hello Illusion-ites... Just a quick question enquiring the former members of the Midnight Express. I understand Bobby Eaton and that Dennis dude where in the team...however someone else took Dennis' place within the team. Who was this guy? Thank you for your time Illusion
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 16, 2002 Report Posted November 16, 2002 and the aforementioned Dennis was Dennis Condrey.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted November 16, 2002 Report Posted November 16, 2002 Well you certainly didn't waste any time... Many Thanks, Mr.Barron & Agent
Guest razazteca Posted November 17, 2002 Report Posted November 17, 2002 I think but am not sure that Mr Dennis Condrey was part of the Heavenly Bodies also
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted November 17, 2002 Report Posted November 17, 2002 No, the Heavenly Bodies were Stan Lane and Tom Pritchard, who went on to be Zip. The Midnight Express was originally the team of Randy Rose, Dennis Condrey, and Norvell Austin with a few other guys coming and going including the Midnight Stallion, Ron Starr, Rick Harris and Wayne Ferris (the Honky Tonk Man). Condrey eventually left for Crocket promotions and formed his own new Midnight Express with Bobby Eaton and Jim Cornette as manager. Condrey eventually left and was replaced by Stan Lane who had been in a team known as the Fabulous Ones with Steve Keirn (Skinner). Condrey and Rose eventually came in as the Original Midnight Express to feud over the name with manager Paul E Dangerously (Paul Heyman).
Guest Corey291 Posted November 17, 2002 Report Posted November 17, 2002 Stan Lane was eventually replaced in the Heavenly Bodies by Jimmy Del Ray. Del Ray and Pritchard made a great team. -Corey
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted November 17, 2002 Report Posted November 17, 2002 Stan Lane was eventually replaced in the Heavenly Bodies by Jimmy Del Ray. Del Ray and Pritchard made a great team. -Corey Del Ray was one UGLY motherfucker to be called "The Gigolo"
Guest D'Lo White Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 Tom Pritchard doesn't exactly look like the Doctor of Desire either.
Guest Tim Cooke Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 Midnight Express are easily the GREATEST US Tag Team ever. As a combination, Condrey, Eaton, Lane, and Cornette will go down with Ishigundan as the greatest "group"/stable ever. The Heavenly Bodies, both combinations, were an excellent "Indy" tag team. Tim
Guest Bricks Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 Did Condrey have a nickname also like "Sweet" Stan and "Beautiful" Bobby?
Guest Tim Cooke Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 "Lover Boy" Dennis, "Beautiful" Bobby, "Sweet" Stan, "Doctor of Desire" Tom Pritchard. Forget who Del Ray is off the top of my head. Tim
Guest Bricks Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 Del Ray was "Gigolo" Jimmy Del Ray.
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 Of the Midnights and Bodies I know there where: "Playboy" Randy Rose, "Lover Boy" Dennis, "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton, "Sweet" Stan Lane, "Doctor of Desire" Tom Pritchard, "Gigolo" Jimmy Del Ray, lead by your friend and mine Mr. Jim Cornette
Guest Goodear Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 Watching Del Ray belly dance was always a joy on Superstars back in the day as the commentators would always be all "EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 and then the New Midnight Express was made up of "Bodacious" Bob Holly and "Bombastic" Bart Gunn
Guest converge241 Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 even though the new Midnight express was sacrilige i liked them nothing wrong with an old school style tag team in my books
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted November 24, 2002 Report Posted November 24, 2002 pfhhh. Fantastics,Fabolous Ones, and The British Bulldogs were IMHO better than the Midnight Express.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Of the Midnights and Bodies I know there where: "Playboy" Randy Rose... Not to be confused with Playboy BUDDY Rose? Or is it the same guy?
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 He picked up the name Playboy in the AWA, Buddy Rose was just picked uped by the WWF then and I guess they thought it would be cool to make Randy a Playboy.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 So to settle the discussion... Most wrestlers, espically those in the 80's, are UGLY BASTARDS Illusion - Isn't ugly
Guest Tim Cooke Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 "Fantastics,Fabolous Ones, and The British Bulldogs were IMHO better than the Midnight Express." Nah, wrong. Fantastics, on some levels, I could give that one to you. Fabulous One's, never had the matches that stand out forever. As for British Bulldogs, point me to a match of their's that is as good as 3/27/88 MX v Fantastics or 7/7/90 MX v Southern Boys. You won't be able too. Tim
Guest dreamer420 Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 The Heavenly Bodies were an hilarious team. They were both some really ugly men though.
Guest razazteca Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 Jim Cornette could make anybody into a enjoyable tag team. I mark for all of his tag teams. how is it that the Armstrong brothers can look good against the Midnight Express but look lame when not facing a Cornette team?
