Guest Human Fly Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Don't count Vince and don't count the World Kliq Title on Raw. Is the 2002 version of the Big Show the worst Champ ever? Not over, no good matches, I can't think of anything good at all. In his current state I don't think he could be carried to a good match. If he's not the worst who is? Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Him or Hogan.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Hogan at least had some justification though. Show jobs to everyone, gets traded, gets no reaction, injures the champion, and then becomes the champion. At least Hogan got pops. I don't see any upside at all to Show but I will let his reign finish before declaring him to be the worst ever, but he would have to far exceed my expectations to avoid that label. Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted November 18, 2002 How can Hogan be compared with Big Show? Hogan was at least way over.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted November 18, 2002 They are both on about the same skill level.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Show might be less over than Brock was when he won the belt. Not to mention Brock can at least have average matches.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted November 18, 2002 But at least Hogan's matches felt special because of the reactions. I'd say that Sid, Kane's one day reign, Taker's last reign, HHH's last two reigns, Show's 1st reign, and Slaughter's were all just as bad as this one will be. Guest Human Fly Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Hogan was selling T-Shirts and other merchandise while he was Champ. Big Show won't sell anything. Hogan at least had his overness to offer. Big Show has his beer gut.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Big Show won't sell anything. Both in merchandise AND in the ring.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I don't care how much fucking merchandise the guy moved! If he isn't pleasing me in the ring then I don't like the old fucker! No matter how many humanoids cheer for him!
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted November 18, 2002 If the WWF had done this in 1999, I would of given them a cookie. Now I give them the finger.
Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I don't know about '02 Show being the worst champ ever, depending what happens the champ on the other show may end up being worse.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I don't know about '02 Show being the worst champ ever, depending what happens the champ on the other show may end up being worse. Excluding the Kliq Title on Raw. Just the WWE Champ.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted November 18, 2002 The only champ that is as bad as '02 Big Show would be '99 Big Show.
Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Well, I'm going to wait until after his reign to decide. So far, though, he's the worst champion of 2002. The way he won the WWE Title alone makes him the worst champ this year. I mean, he could have at least won the title without the interference of Heyman. At least it wouldn't have been so damn predictable how he would have won the belt.
Guest Vyce Report post Posted November 18, 2002 They are both on about the same skill level. That's low. Even for Hogan. That's just damn low.
Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Diesel sucked as a champ too unless he was carried by smaller guys or Kliq buddies, but Slow sucks the most without a shadow of a doubt.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Show's still better than Diesel.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I'd put Show behind Vince actually. There were so many injuries at that time that Vince was actually the #1 face on the show. Big Show's got nothing on that.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Hogan was selling T-Shirts and other merchandise while he was Champ. Big Show won't sell anything. Hogan at least had his overness to offer. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted November 18, 2002 What about Kane's mini-run with the belt?
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I'd say Sid. The man held the strap twice, yet he's barely remembered. One of his two title reigns saw him main eventing Wrestlemania, ferchrissakes, but he's still the biggest inconsequential champion.

We can't remember Sid's run at all, but nobody will ever forget how bad Diesel's run was.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I'd argue that it's better to be remembered than totally forgotten.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I'll say Show 2002 is the worst. At least Kane had a buildup as a killer before he got the belt...unlike Show who was jobbing to Jeff and Booker one week, then the next he's #1 contender. At least Show was a little over in 1999...he just looks like shit now.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted November 18, 2002 At least Show was a little over in 1999...he just looks like shit now. What's up with that new outfit he looks like Bubba Rodgers V.2 Also in '99 he was capable of a watchable match every now and then.
Guest EricMM Report post Posted November 18, 2002 BAH GAWD! Big Show just chokeslammed the ratings through the ring! Big Show just sent the ratings to hell!

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I was at Survivor 99 when Show won. The crowd was actually kinda diggin it. Sure they were pissed that we all got screwed out of Austin, but at least it was something different and a real shock. And even though Bossman was cracking me up back then I wanted to like Big Show. But he's just so ugly to watch in the ring now...remember his last match with Booker, the falls count anywhere one? He was winded 4 seconds into the match. I just don't see where Vince thought "I'd like to put the belt back on Show"...when he put the belt back on Taker I kinda liked it really. Taker had been working better matches and working on his character...Big Show has done neither...
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I'd argue that it's better to be remembered than totally forgotten. Hitler is remembered. Touche. But at least Diesel made an impression. Also, as shitty a champion as he was, just about everything was bad in wrestling at the time. How much do you have to suck if you've main evented Wrestlemania--two times, to be exact (one was a match against Hogan in which the belt wasn't even involved, but still)--and the average fan is lucky if they remember your name? I guess it depends on how you look it at. In terms of business at the time of said champion's reign, Diesel was the worst. When it comes to historical significance, I'd say Sid (though Big Show's looking to take his place).
