Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Emmitt complains about sitting for Hambrick Not to be mean, but Hambrick was better than Emmitt last year, much less this year. Maybe he should check out the stat sheet before he talks to the press.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Time for Emmitt to hang it up. Great career, buy all accounts good guy. He's done everything he can do, but he's not helping the Cowboys who are in rebuilding mode.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Hmm... Hulk Hogan: Appeared with ALF in a phone commercial...senile enough to think that he should've gone over Brock Lesnar for the WWE title at Survivor Series. Emmitt Smith: Appeared with ALF in a phone commercial...senile enough to believe he is still a young gun who deserves playing time. Terry Bradshaw: Appeared with ALF in a phone commercial...well, it's TERRY BRADSHAW, for chrissakes. Everything revolves around ALF... <<looks around for Inca>>

Guest alkeiper Report post Posted November 18, 2002 you forgot..... Mike Piazza: Appeared with ALF in a phone commercial
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 18, 2002 And he's senile enough to believe that he's a good homerun hitter and that people actually believe his "i'm not gay" outbursts
Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I would say that Piazza, A sure Hall of Famer can make those statements...Senile? Is he gay? Shave the fucking Goatee and UNDYE the hair...and we'll look into it... Ya know The Mets Lockerroom is quite diverse...Stoners, Homos, Fat asses, Italians...Imagine the room service bills on road trips...
Guest razazteca Report post Posted November 18, 2002 just trade Emmit to the Raiders, already, Oakland is the land where vets can prove they still got it
Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 18, 2002 What bout Garner?
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Well, Garner actually DOES still got it, which makes him a better fit for Oakland then Emmitt, who just thinks he got it. By the way, this raises a question, was Emmitt seriously considering playing after this year? And why?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 18, 2002 He wants to be the one credited for Turning the team back...Which won't happen until Cows milk Pepsi.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted November 18, 2002 there is no way Emmit can help the Cowboys with the current team especially with Bruce Coslett calling the Offense. The O-Line is weak, there are no good blocking TE or FB so Emmit should be happy that he got the RUSHING RECORD and just shut the hell up.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I don't believe that Emmitt was planning on retiring after this year. If he continues playing after this season i doubt that it will be for the Cowboys.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted November 19, 2002 I wish there was a way that the record could be taken from Emmitt Smith. Until there is a way for me to do so, I will just have to refuse to acknowledge his accomplishment.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted November 19, 2002 I actually figured this would happen: Emmitt gets the record, then finds his role in the offense reduced. The Cowboys are trying to rebuild, and they're not going to find out anything for the future by playing Emmitt. It's a shame he doesn't see that.

Terrell Davis...Back-to-back MVP seasons, endorses Chunky soup. Matt Lepsis rolls up his knee on a run play, Davis's career is effectively over. Kurt Warner...MVP season in 1999, suffers concussion in 2000, thumb injury in 2001 and a broken pinky in 2002. and now Donovan McNabb...fractured ankle, out rest of regular season. The Cowboys are trying to rebuild, and they're not going to find out anything for the future by playing Emmitt. It's a shame he doesn't see that. that's just what I'm saying Doc. Everyone knew Emmitt would get shunted down behind Hambrick once he got the record. Except, apparently, Emmitt. That's why I was so shocked when he said something about next year. Why the hell is he playing another year?
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted November 19, 2002 Actually, I think that Emmitt's angrier about not really being informed that the change was going to be so drastic, and less so about losing carries to Hambrick. I mean, he's still in the wrong (he really should have seen the writing on the wall anyway), but that's what I think his motivation was.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted November 19, 2002 Hambrick is a better RB right know than Smith. This always happens in sports. When a team wants to reduce the minutes of an older player they get upset and like Smith are suprised they aren't playing has much.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted November 19, 2002 What bothered Smith was that he was never informed that the game plan had changed this week. "I knew he is going to get more carries; they didn't explain how they were going to do it,'' Smith said. "Let's make a decision and let's go with it.'' Whatever you think of Emmitt, he's at least earned the right to be told what is going to happen beforehand.
Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted November 19, 2002 The alltime rushing record and 3 Super Bowl Rings, what's left to accomplish? I always liked Emmitt, even though I always HATED the Cowboys, but he should retire after this season.
