ChrisMWaters Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 Out of the WWF/E top belts that they've had over the years, which do you think is the best? Choices Are: Original: used from everone from Sammartino to...Backlund was the last I think. Anyone have a picture? 1979-1984: Those that have seen the clips of Hogan's match with Iron Sheik know what it looks like. I never saw the Hogan only belts well enough...so... 1988-1998: This one is my avatar... 1998 Attitude: This was the first version of the Attitude belt...blue strap, old style WWF Logo. Smoking Skull Belt: The custom belt that Austin (and Rock and Undertaker) wore for a bit. 1998-2002: The famous big circular gold belt. Like the 1998 Attitude, but with black strap and "scratch" logo. "Undisputed" Championship: The one currently held by Big Show (ugh). "World" Championship: AKA the WCW World Title. I think my 3 favs are 1988-1998 version, the "Undisputed" one, and the WCW style belt. The first one because it envokes so many memories...plus was useful after the change (turned into Hardcore Title)...and the last two because I always liked the idea of having the nameplate on the top titles. What do you guys think?
Guest dreamer420 Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 The belt that was debuted at Wrestlemania 4 is my fav. It held up for 10 years and the WWF(E) hasn't made a belt that looked that good since.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 88-98 WWf Belt NWA/WcW "Big Gold Belt" 80's/90's IC Belt That would be my top 3
ChrisMWaters Posted November 19, 2002 Author Report Posted November 19, 2002 Heh...everyone seems to like the 1988-1998 belt best. I like the nameplate idea though...that and it's size is my only complaint. Make it a tiny bit bigger and add a nameplate and it'll be my all-time fav belt.
Guest Frankie Williams Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 1979-1984: Those that have seen the clips of Hogan's match with Iron Sheik know what it looks like. Im not nitpicking, but that particular belt came into existance in late '82 after Superstar Billy Graham destroyed the original belt that Backlund wore.

Thanks for the info...I was unaware of that. ^^;
Guest dreamer420 Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 I love the nameplate too, and I'm glad the WWE has decided to do that.
Guest papacita Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 I liked the 98-2002 belt. BTW: Is it just me, or does the Women's Title belt have a nameplate now?
ChrisMWaters Posted November 19, 2002 Author Report Posted November 19, 2002 I liked the 98-2002 belt. BTW: Is it just me, or does the Women's Title belt have a nameplate now? It's not you. World, WWE, Women's, and Cruiserweight belts all have nameplates now.
Guest The Superstar Posted November 19, 2002 Report Posted November 19, 2002 A little off topic, might I add that the new RAW Tag Titles are BAD ASS?!
