C'mon Jeff God Damnit!!

Recommended Posts

Guest RicFlairGlory

I know I'm a night late, but I just saw the Table match, and the Rico scream has got to be my favorite screaming since HHH just blatantly screaming "SIDESLAM!"

Anybody got video of that?...

Sorry for reviving a dead topic, but I just saw that match for the first time tonight.

Wow.

I mean wow.

Jeff needs to take a good half year break at this point and heal, because he pretty much fucked that match with that spot. He also tripped when running across the railing and looked like a complete doofus doing so.

On a side note that's gotta be the biggest breach of Kayfabe that I've ever seen.

Still, once upon a time (around the time of the sherri.... or was it terri? invitational) Jeff used to be good. I'll admit I liked the little "eh, why not" shrug he did before the senton through the table, but that's about all he contributed to the match.

What was with that entire sequence?

Jeff took WAY too long to get to Rico; yet Rico's set-up for the top-rope spot was WAY too fast, leaving him high and dry for a good 15 seconds, while Jeff tried to recover from the table bump a full 40 yards away. The agents and referees have to plan these spots better,

I saw the match again last night. Jeff did mess that spot up incredibly. He was late getting up off the floor. However, let's remember that he just took that big jump onto the tables. So maybe he was busted up after that jump.

I say give Hardy a break and bring him back in the New Year.

It's not like RAW will miss him anyway.

Not only has him become extreamly stale as a character (all the face paint in the world will not detract from the fact that he is still a hardy boy)

His brother over on Smackdown has proved that he is actually capable on the stick and has changed his character. Jeff is still doing the same match he was doing three years ago - just shittier as he just looks a shadow of his former self.

It was mentioned that the WWE would give him x amount of time off about 6 months ago, which they did not - for gods sake just write him off in an injury angle instead of putting the unmotivated performer we are seeing ever week on Raw.

However the match with Chris Harvard was watchable.

Bad timing or not, Rico should never have broken character like that. Professionals should know how to improvise. He could have taunted the crowd, taunted Buh Buh while he was on the table, any number of things to either give Jeff time to recover or just do the spot without Jeff. I mean, fumbling on the ropes by himself won't detract from his character at all. It's not like anyone takes him seriously anyway.

Bad Rico, bad. :bonk:

Here Here.

I totally agree, it was unprofessional, but also just plain stupid on Ricos part as he shouted it SO loud.

Another spot call which was worst and funnier in my opinion was when Ken Shamrock told Ryan Shamrock to slap him right in front of the camera.

DOH!!

Didn't HHH completely stop a match at a house show and asked some people in the audience to calm down so he could entertain the crowd?

Or was that just a rumor?

Apparently so. I think there was a scuffle in the crowd or something like that.

I think he stopped again for another reason though.

yeah but that is totally acceptable because he "eats, breathes, and apparently chokes on the business"....

What spot did Jeff screw up exactly?

Jeff was supposed to crotch Rico on the top rope just before he moonsaulted Buh Buh Ray through a table. However, Jeff had swantoned Rosey through a table by the entranceway, and couldn't get to the side of the ring to shake the ropes. Either he was still recovering or the timing was just way off. So Rico was left there pissing in the wind waiting for the cue that never came, which prompted him to yell out for everyone to hear "C'mon Jeff, goddamnit!"

Rico should have improvised.

he was supposed to do a "rack 'em" spot when Rico went for the moonsault and I think Rico was the one who blew his cool while Jeff OBVIOUSLY blew ANOTHER spot of three-five he blew in that match.

You just can't go around giving Jeff time off everytime he needs to get motivated. That's unfair to everyone else. Either drop his ass or find something that works.

give him a break, he had just jumped from the entrance way onto a fucking table, i think Rico went up top too fast, and didn't gave Jeff enough time to recover........just saying

but i do think that Jeff need a couple of moths off to recover and rest a little

I don't blame Rico at all in this situation because he was stuck in no man's land. Normally you can improvise a spot, but he was set up to moonsault the eventual winner of the match through a table. Once he was up there the only thing he could possibly do is get down or slip himself which will both completely expose it anyway. The people who should have improvised were Jamal and Bubba because at least Bubba could have fought his way off the table and knocked over Rico but there was nothing Rico could do without exposing the spot anyway. Granted "Get over here god damnit" was not the proper way to get around it but to say he should have improvised is unfair because it was impossible.

If its to do with motivation I agree no don't give him time off, but if it down to the fact that the WWE has had him bump around for the past 3-4 years and he needs to just rest up and come back in a couple of months, I don't see the problem.

Undertaker has had long spells out in the past. I don't think it hurts wrestlers to have a break once in a while, the same wrestlers doing the same shit all the time just gets boring in the end.

Jeff's had two good sized breaks in the last year and a half or so. Aside from the Rock, and he's with good reason, Jeff gets more time than anyone else. That's not fair for everyone who busts their ass for four days a week without that option.

I see what your saying Brian, if you don't give him a break though he is washed up at what 26??

If they have any long term plans for him, he needs a rest. If not I say just job him out then, when does his contract run out? Use him to put other up and commers over.

Its not like he is over apart from with the female audience anyway.

Like I stated in another thread, Rico went way to fast after Jeff's huge bump. If anyone is to blame I say it's Rico for screaming like a child at Jeff.

But if you give him another break, it's totally unfair and he's done nothing since the last one to really deserve it. Dump his ass, let him go to Japan again or flounder in the indys or just quit. Let him choose his way. It sounds really heartless, but cut him loose.

I agree. They either need to start demanding sobriety and crisp work or they need to cut him. As it is now he is taking up air time that could be getting someone else over.

It was Rico's fault for screaming out with the camera right there and not going on with the match and improvising when it was clear Hardy wasn't going to make it.

Regardless...Jeff does need a break or one of these days he's going to land on his head while doing the swanton and that'll be it.

I think that Rico could have handled the situation better (although it was funny as hell), but Jeff has looked like absolutely shit lately. I'm thinking Rico lost patience with him for a reason. He's been screwing rail runners for awhile now, and that's not exactly the most complex move out there. Whatever is wrong with Jeff, they need to straighten him out fast, or get him off TV.

I don't blame Jeff for that one. He had just taken a nasty bump to the floor and wasn't given the proper time to get to the ring after the bump.

Also the running of the rails is a hard move to pull off, especially if you've all ready wrestled for 15 minutes and taken a sick bump so give the guy a break.

He has been blowing rail runners in Raw matches 2 minutes in when all he has taken was basic bumps as well it wasnt just that match.

To be fair, it's hard to pull of the rail run 100% of the time when audience members have their various appendages, signs, and camera equipment draped over the barricades. I personally think he should forego the rails and and just run across people's heads.

I'd like to see you run a 6 inch rail by jumping onto it and then taking off full tilt
