Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 I think we need the HHHNN segment that I mentioned in another thread on RAW next week. As for the rating, Im willing to bet it will be higher next week. I mean, HBK vs RVD...possibly no HHH again next week..
Guest El Satanico Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 HHH is the WWE's PUCK from the Real World III How dare you compare HHH to Puck. Puck was the ONLY good thing from that season. He was the only thing which made that season entertaining...so he's nothing like HHH.
Guest Paranoid Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Sorry to bust your little bubbles, but the high rating was due to HBK being a champ again and Steiner returning to the WWE. I like RVD, but it wasn't because of him.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 That's a matter of opinion. There is no way one can find out for sure until quarter-hour numbers are released.

Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Yes Paranoid. He raised that rating. Even though he's been built up on RAW as something great over the past 2 months and he hasn't popped the rating at all. Bullshit. The rating is from Survivor Series, Scott Steiner, and the triple threat.

Rarely does anything go that long term.

SNOWFAN IS SHAWN MICHAELS' MURDERER!
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 I am amazed at all this judgment calling over one number that encompassed a 120+ minute show. Not even the hourly numbers were released.

Guest DJ Jeff Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 I can't say that I'm really surprised, considering it was the first RAW after the Survivor Series. I'm interested to see what next weeks ratings will be. HBK vs. RVD for the World Title should help ratings. Plus, now that Steiner has arrived, he'll more than likely be on RAW. Finally, the best part, is that HHH might not be on RAW. Maybe RAW will hit 4.0 next week.

Neither is Steiner...WCW only drew in the 2's when he was champ. I don't think it'll hit 4 next week though...I think a lot of people that tuned in JUST to see what happened at the ppv, and a lot of them probably won't be back next week.

You are with me in thinking 3.3-3.5 then???
Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Yeah...I would guess around 3.5ish...maybe a tad higher. But not 4.0
Guest CanadianChick Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 I say it stays the same....by the way, anyone have quarter hours yet?
Guest El Satanico Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 It gets a 2.4, HBK dies in the ring, Vince commits suicide and WWeee enters self destruct mode. :wakes up: damnit i just had the greatest dream ever.
Guest NoCalMike Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Well a post ppv raw probobaly is the #1 reason for the spike in the ratings, and I hope in turn, that all the extra viewers also want to see HBK vs. RVD next week.
Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 2. Neither is Steiner...WCW only drew in the 2's when he was champ. That's not Steiner fault though. He was one of the only guys who were legitimately over in WCW's dying days. The low ratings for WCW at that time were the result of shitty storylines and guys on TV that nobody cared about.
Guest NoCalMike Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 I don't think Steiner will be that big of an impact player for WWE. I mean, he is just disgustingly roided out and can probobaly barely move around the ring and I am sure he will be another guy that takes up a roster spot because he has a catchy, catch-phrase that people like to sing with him, yet as soon as the match starts, boredem by the crowd ensues.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Well a post ppv raw probobaly is the #1 reason for the spike in the ratings, The ratings dropped the Raw right after "No Mercy" last month. It did something like a 3.1 and the WWE were "Shocked" that it did such low numbers following a PPV. Oh, Wait, That was the PPV with Triple H Vs Kane. Plus, I think that Raw debuted Katie Vick. Go figure, decent Wrestling brings Ratings. Who'd a thunk it?

Guest nikowwf Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Raw didn't have the HHH factor - the dropoff after seeing HHH squash someone and getting pissed off and shutting the TV off. niko
Guest snowfan Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Raw didn't have the HHH factor - the dropoff after seeing HHH squash someone and getting pissed off and shutting the TV off. niko that is true, but it will take HGH's return and the HGH factor to get anyone in booking to notice...and it would have to be a profound drop.... and would be immediately followed by: Hey dad-uh they tuned in just to see my great-uh work-uh.... and big steph would follow: The answer is to put hunter in every third segment daddy and train the audience to know he isn't just showing up once...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 HHH and RVD are the people who can win or lose based on upcoming ratings. If ratings stay up until HHH reclaims the title and then drop...well then even an idiot (IE WWE staff) has identified the problem. If ratings go up next week for the RVD vs. HBK match, and then drop the next week after RVD loses again...then people do watch the show to see RVD win. Funny thing is I can see exactly the last one happening, and ratings will drop the next week due to RVD not winning again, an dHHH returning at the end of the show.
Guest snowfan Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 and that will of course be used as proof that "The crowd-uh just pops for RVD dad-uh and they don't really tune-uh in for him-uh" if he does play it that way.... Crips wins in 2 of the 3 possible scenarios....
Guest The Man in Blak Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 When was the last time they hit a 4.0? The last 4.0 rating on Raw had HHH main-eventing August 19, 2002: Bradshaw pinned Tommy Dreamer in a battle royal to win the Hardcore Title...Crash Holly pinned Bradshaw in a battle royal to win the Hardcore Title...Tommy Dreamer pinned Crash Holly in a battle royal to win the Hardcore Title...Other participants were Terri, Buh-Buh Ray Dudley, Jeff Hardy, Steven Richards, and Spike Dudley...Trish Stratus defeated Stacy Kiebler in a Bra and Panties Mud Match...Test, Lance Storm, and Christian defeated The Undertaker, Booker T., and Goldust...Rob Van Dam and The Big Show fought to a No Contest...Undisputed World Champion, The Rock, and Triple H fought to a No Contest Honestly, I think this one had more to do with them endlessly hyping "Rock! Triple H! For The Title! One More Time!" in between every other sentence. And, if I remember correctly, the match tanked anyway. As for this week's Raw, which was the first Raw that I've actively enjoyed in almost half of a year, I'd say the ratings go mainly for it being a Raw off of a PPV with five title changes, a big source of star power (that they haven't had in so long in Scott Steiner, and the promise of a hot three-way main event. But the ball is now in RVD's hands - they've gotten the word out, they've set up a bonafide fantasy match between RVD and HBK, and now it's up to RVD to really leave all doubts behind and just kick out a balls-to-the-wall match with the champ.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 On one hand that is absolutely 100% correct. On the other, the odds say that no matter what happens RVD's nuts are going to be cut off by an interference laced ending anyway.
Guest Choken One Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Yes, the ratings increase was because of the Post-Series attention...People want to know who won the Chamber...and then they heard RVD-HBK could go down...one of the few Dream matches left... Next Week: 3.9. Bank on it.
