Shawn vs. HHH vs. RVD

Recommended Posts

Guest thebigjig

We all know that RVD is NOT going to win in his match with Shawn for obvious reasons and I'm sure you're all going to weep whenever HHH comes out and costs RVD the match, but stop and think about it for a moment... it makes sense. RVD injured HHH. If they don't use THAT as a storyline then they're morons (well... okay that's already a fact but whatever.) So HHH either costs RVD the match or it ends in a no contest with HHH destroying both, setting up the three way at the pay per view where the HHH/Shawn storyline is blown off and RVD goes over for the title. It may not happen like that, but it's the smart way to go in my opinion. They shouldn't have RVD go over Michaels on free tv with a week's build anyway. It's not the smart business decision.

Who's betting this is the way it ends up? I'll probably be wrong in the end, but this is the direction I'm predicting they're going to take

Three-Way sucks because you KNOW that:

1. The match is built around HHH and HBK with RVD playing fanboy to HBK's famous wrestler

2. RVD does the job in the match

3. RVD proceeds to be dropped from the feud and sent back to the lower-midcard as punishment for hurting HHH as HBK main events RR and gets his victory over HBK back

You nailed it in one.

The fact is that there are WAYYYYYY too many gimmicked championship matches that rob fans of any sense of closure on fueds and it is all done for worker ego and seldom storyline....

i dont think they will have a screw ball finish if they do there ratings will go back to where they were last week low 3's and that is not a good buisness practise

nice post and true but you are making a huge assumption...

You think they think that and you think a certain group in the WWE cares about ratings more than heat-uh...

Is it that obvious that RVD is going to lose? I still believe he has a chance at winning. It would be a nice change of pace.

I won't mind so much if Triple H runs in and makes the match a no contest, because I have already accepted that, that has a 99% chance of happening. My biggest hope is that the match still gets a decent amount of time before the run-in occurs.....If the match starts at about 10:58, then it is all ruined. I still will not totally HOLD OUT that RVD may turn heel after a hard fought match with HBK and as they embrace after the HBK win, RVD just gives him a roundhouse to the kisser. Of course the only way this could even think to happen is if, Triple H is out of the equation for now which I highly DOUBT.....

Won't happen. HHH wants to pin Shawn Micheals in the ring.RVD wouldn't serve a purpose in the match.

damn, this seems JUST like a few other threads, all revolving around this match...

I doubt that HHH will interfere in the match, as he's not being allowed to wrestle(and I'm assuming Vince won't even let him go near the ring, then) for at least 10 days...

Sure, maybe what he said in that interview about it was a work, but once again, I doubt it.

I see Jericho, or Booker T causing the DQ. If THAT happens...

If RVD wins the belt, it would set up a rematch at Armageddon with Michaels, and HHH can take some time off, as he's been on TOO much, and he's got the neck, and arm injuries...

Well I hope all of that comes true. Would be nice to see Triple H take some sort of vacation and let things develop AWAY from his control on RAW. Oh and I think it is a good thing that there are so many threads about one match, because it is a sign that there is something to get excited and hyped up about for a change. This match could be huge, but it needs more buildup and with a good angle to carry this mini-feud it could be grand.

Can you say "lost in Cleveland II"?

The EC match at Survivor Series proved - beyond any reasonable doubt - that the WWE does not see RVD as a top tier wrestler.

The ONLY point of the title match next Monday is to set up the HHH/HBK match at the PPV and to give HHH an excuse to kick the shit out of RVD for his screw up on Sunday.

Nope, I have reasonable doubt. I can be proven wrong, but I think we've got a decent feud brewing, even if Triple H does get involved somehow. I think RVD's getting "elevated" here, and I think it might be a good time for those of us watching. Can it get screwed up? Yeah. But there's a different feel about this. I think something good is coming, even if it's on a slow brew.

If HHH was to come in and destroy both HBK and RVD, at least it would make sense from a storyline perpective. HHH and Michaels are feuding, and HHH will want revenge for the injury suffered at the hands of RVD. And if that sets up HHH/RVD/HBK for Armaggedon, then good. We'd have a main event with a solid storyline behind it.

And I'd bet that RVD goes over at the PPV, picking up the win after HHH and HBK destroy each other. That's how I'd do it anyway. *shrugs*

Exactly. Although, since HHHe-Man is slated to sit out for another 10 days, I'm betting that it's Booker T who interferes in next week's match, which sets up his title shot against HBK, wherein RVD interferes, which will set up Booker T v. RVD at the PPV for the title of "Most Promising New Talent Never To Break Through The Glass Ceiling".

There will be no three-way at the PPV. No way, no day.
