Now HEYMAN is holding down talent

Recommended Posts

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen

Jay Bower should *love* this:

In a recent interview, Mike Sanders revealed why he believes he was let go by the WWE.

He was brought in to audition some creative ideas to Vince McMahon. Sanders believes Paul Heyman was apparently threatened, and sent Sanders home and eventually urged management to give him a release.

Sanders believes that Heyman viewed him as a creative staff threat, and had him fired.

Didn't Heyman just say that, but he really had him sent home cause Nash and him are friends or something?

I don't know Heyman or Sanders personally, but it sounds like sour grapes on the part of the guy who couldn't cut it. I know he had a hand in booking HWA and all (I think... or was it OVW), but you have to admit that it looks pretty bad to just mouth off against Heyman when neither he nor anyone else has evidence about this accusation.

And besides, Heyman's an angel, no? ;)

I remember this was rumoured shortly after Sanders' release.

The Observer recycling their own gossip amuses me.

Why is the Torch taking this as their "Own Rumors/facts?"

Mike Sanders said this himself in the Interview he has on the NWA:TNA Site.

Honestly, I don't think Heyman has this kind of pull at all to get someone released that is "a threat" to creative.

Sander has also accused Johnny Ace as the reason he was let go also. He's just bitter, and is looking for people to blame. From the sounds of it, Sanders has a bit of an ego backstage, and that probably had to do with the release more than anything

This was from that Sanders Interview

<Let me give you the timeline here. I get a call saying Creative's got something for you. Let's take you to King of the Ring and RAW and we want you to do some pitches to Vince, just like Paul Heyman did with Brock Lesnar. Cool. A month later, Creative's got nothing for me and I'm fired. Well, I know for a fact because I got a call from a friend in WWE that the reason I got released was they didn't like the perception of the friends that I hung out with at King of the Ring and RAW. Paul Heyman didn't want me in the spot that I was in because I was too close to him. And you know it's a sad thing when guys in this business think you're going to take their job. Jeez, Paul Heyman is so friggin 80s anyway. Yeah, I said that.>

You forgot to mention that you are related to Johhny Ace, which of course is why you'd never believe it as true.

Man........is there anybody in the WWE not thinking the new person is out to screw them over? It even extends to the writing staff!

I wonder.......

*a new guy on ring crew sets it up very fast*

Established Ring Crew: Hey that guy is making me look bad. Vince he doesn't know how to do it! He doesn't set it up intense enough! Fire him!"

Nah, wrestling is basically filled with a whole bunch of people with big egos. And when those egos clash with each other (and they always do) someone gets the short shift. Then, internet fans basically base their decisions on who is right on who is the better performer in the ring.

Well...if Mike Sanders said so, it must be true.

I mean, I'm sure if he was booking the WWE would be pulling in 6s in the ratings again...

Well who is right when you have two petty children fighting over something?

"I have some ideas....."

"You're trying to steal my job!"

"No I'm not! You fat loser!"

"WAAAHHH! Fire him!"

"No fire him and give me his job!"

"See!"

"I only said that because you did!"

*slapping ensues*

One question: How did you get the tape recorder into Titan Towers?

Actually I would believe it if there was others claiming Ace (Or Heyman for that matter) actually held him or any guys down, but I don't see it. Sure, Heyman might be a horrible financial person to rely on, but who else has ever said he ever held them down?

Like I said, I don't see him having the pull to have Sanders released, same with Ace. They both were in the WWE less than a year when Sanders got the release, how could they have that much stroke that fast.......fuck, I don't think Heyman was even helping much with booking much at all at this time either.

Heyman is a writer for both Raw and Smackdown. He's got plenty of clout. I'm not taking a side on the issue, but suffice to say, Heyman can take care of his "spot" if need be.

And before someone brings up Sanders' friendship with Nash, I just have to wonder how much Big Kev would stick his neck out for him. His behavior in the past hasn't exactly portrayed him as a guy who would risk pissing off one of the head writers just to help out old buddy. This is the same guy who wouldn't take his friend to rehab, and watched him self destruct.

Again though, when Sanders was released, was Heyman even strongly IN creative?

Secondly, and I thought this had already been bunked before........where is it official that Heyman is writing for both shows?

Wow. TNA shooting spitwads at WWE and their locker room. Who knew?

Seriously, they're starting to go overboard with this. Showing signs and logos at Raw is one thing (I remember seeing some guy showing off an ECW shirt during the Hogan heel turn) but constantly shooting on them in promos and on the website is childish.

Funny how if this was HHH you guys would be all over him.

But no smark fav Heyman can do no wrong.

If you want evidence of Heyman holding people down wy not look at former ECW guys who left to you know feed their families.

"...who left to you know feed their families."

I have no idea what that statement means.

But I think Mad is referring to Mike Awesome, who was squeezed out due to his supposed negative relationship with Heyman.

The feeding families comments come from Mick Foley's book.

He explains how the ECW fans would hate you for leaving. Most ECW guys couldn't provide for themselves working there and would have to leave for money. Plus Heyman wasn't really paying his workers the last year the fed was around.

Mike Awesome, Raven and a few others are good ways to see what Heyman does to those former ECW guys who left on bad terms.

Ok, without commas after the words to and know the sentence was difficult for me to understand.

That argument makes sense. I was kind of shocked when Raven was relegated to work Heat exclusively. I figured he was being punished for quitting as an announcer.

partly...

I think someone has a lot to do with how long the "spank" has been going on though.

I have my suspicions of Heyman's treatment of the guys that were there at the end...

Apples and oranges. Heyman couldn't pay those guys because he was horrible on the financial side of the business. I doubt he withheld payment because he held grudges.

As for Raven being on Heat, I doubt he had anything to do with it. After all, when Raven left wCw to return to ECW, Heyman gave him a pretty prominent role right from the start. Just because Vince and Co. don't see anything substantial in him now shouldn't be blamed on Heyman.

That about sums it up, doesn't it? ;)

(Sanders was the voice of wCw's Natural Born Thrillers, a ragtag bunch of Power Plant misfits that they pushed to the moon with little to no experience. Sanders was no great shakes in the ring, but he wowed a lot of people (myself not included) with his mic skills. Apparently he's got an in with Kevin Nash, which lowers his standing in my eyes considerably. He got a developmental program with the WW_ when the mercy-killed wCw, and helped book HWA shows before they shut down. WW_ cut him, and apparently he's on his way to TNA, which from what I've seen of him, is exactly where he belongs.)
