Top Ten Underrated Matches

Recommended Posts

Guest Black Tiger

The top ten best matches was not my work. I think I left the window of the computer open and whoever went on the computer after I did had some fun.

As before, Just because It's Underrated doesn't mean it's great, just that it deserves more attention than it gets.

10. Furnas/Lafon VS Owen/Bulldog (Final Four)

As usual the WWF messes up some great talent. This was the saving match of Final Four. If not for this match, the card would be up there with GAB 1991. 3 great workers and some great ring work made this match easy the best WWF thing for Furnas and Lafon. Only the ending sucked.

09. The Rockers VS Brainbusters (SNME)

The jackass listed this as one of the best matches of all time. I like it but it's not THAT great. This match makes that MORE SNME tape worth getting. It has some nice spots and the crowd is pretty loud for it. The ending was a nice touch since then The Rockers don't get stuck losing and Heenan's guys aren't seen as weak. This is The Rockers without any substances in them

08. Chris Benoit VS Dean Malenko (Hog Wild)

2 great workers went out on a PPV based around 2 matches and proceeded to work their asses off for nearly 30 minutes. The match defined both guys as potential heels. Malenko siding with that jackass Jimmy Hart and Benoit helping Flair. Benoit's using of the tights to get his win showed that he was truly over as a cheap trick liked that got him a good response.

07. Chris Jericho VS Dean Malenko (WCW Thunder 2/98)

This is the match that started the feud. Everyone KNEW going into the match that  Jericho would win but how could he beat Malenko? Jericho showed the potential superstar in him with this match as he took a great wrestler like Dean Malenko and outdid him in almost every way.

06. Benoit/Wellington VS Lyger/Pillman. (COC 19)

This match is without a doubt the show saver of this show. Whoever booked this match should have been used more often. These four put on a match that wouldn't become common in WCW for nearly 5 years. They did this WITHOUT pads on the floor.

05. Raven VS Terry Gordy (Hardcore Heaven '96)

ECW's best match ever. A total slaughtering to the crowds delight. This match is pretty stiff. If you want to see a hot crowd for a match then check it out.

04. Lance Storm VS Jerry Lynn (ECW TV 1998)

ECW took two of it's most underused guys and put them on TV for a 1998 show and had the crowd ROCKING! Storm and Jerry took out all the stops and the crowd couldn't WAIT to see Storm get his clock cleaned.

03. Taz VS Paul Varleans (Hardcore Heaven '96)

This match pissed off a lot of people. It was supposed to be a shootfight. Taz was getting killed when Perry Saturn dropkicked Varlens and Taz choked him out. The crowd is pissed!  This match was quite good given the fact that Taz was against a man who had no training for Pro Wrestling.

02. Dynamite Kid VS Bret Hart (British Bulldogs Coliseum Video)

This match is something that guys who appreciate the atheltic side of wrestling love. 2 wrestlers who are skilled in more than one form of wrestling. They do innovative (for 1985) spots and show the world that they have a great future in wrestling.

01. Chris Benoit VS Meng (GAB 199)

JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!

01. Ric Flair VS Barry Windham (Beach Blash 1993) People who've seen Flair VS Windham from 1985-87 hate this because both guys have degenerated so bad but when you consider that Flair was on the downside due to inactivity and Windham was injured they put on a hell of a match and it deserves some credit due to how great both of them were. If i did a top ten of greatest wrestlers Barry would be 3 and Flair would be 2.

Okay, this is by the REAL Black Tiger. (Accept no substitues)
