Guest kane3212321 Report post Posted November 22, 2002 Where do you live?: Victoria, Australia How long have you been watching wrestling? 6 Years What WWE program(s) do you currently watch? Afterburn Have you stopped watching any WWE programs recently? Yes, Raw If yes, why? Material I find unsuitable as a wrestling fan is being included in the programming that takes the place of good solid matches. What is your opinion of the current state of World Wrestling Entertainment? The WWE at the minute is unbalanced. On one side the show is wrestling based and the wrestling delivers. On the other the show is story and talking based, which is not what wrestling should be about.
Guest MixxMaster Report post Posted November 22, 2002 Where do you live?: Jackson, Minnesota How long have you been watching wrestling?over 24 years What WWE program(s) do you currently watch?Raw, Smackdown!, Velocity/Confidential, and sometimes, Bottom Line Have you stopped watching any WWE programs recently?Sunday Night Heat, Tough Enough, and all Pay Per Views If yes, why?Heat and Tough Enough, due to Mtv not being available in this town. The Pay Per Views due to not willing to pay ANY money for the current product, which would just show support for a weak product. What is your opinion of the current state of World Wrestling Entertainment?A creative problem that is hurting the company in MANY ways. Sales at the gate are down, merchandise, and Pay Per View sales are down, ratings are WAY downand the stock is sinking... most can be directly attributed to a lack of support for a produt that has been in a rut, creatively. Very poor writing only makes people want to watch something ELSE. The WWE is now trying to use shock tactics, to get ANY kind of response, be it good or bad. Their are also problems in that there is no real competition, and now all of the best talent in the country is in one company, with little chance for everyone to shine. Factors in this are the aging veterans are mostly not willing to let others outshine them, for fear of losing their position, poor creative directions, due to some who have no real understanding of the industry, not nearly enough air-time, considering the vast pool of talent, and the naturally short average career of a highly physical, and dangerous sport... Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 22, 2002 Where do you live?: Brockville, Ontario How long have you been watching wrestling? On and off 10 years What WWE program(s) do you currently watch? None, since I'm at school, minus the PPVs, but usually just Raw and SD, and occasionally Velocity and Confidential Have you stopped watching any WWE programs recently? Yes If yes, why? No access to a cable TV during the times they are on What is your opinion of the current state of World Wrestling Entertainment? I think wrestling fans were spoiled by how awesome it was 2 or 3 years ago, but the product could definitely be better, as far as storylines go. For the most part, the in-ring product is fine as it is.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2002 Where do you live?: Derby, England How long have you been watching wrestling? Late Eighties What WWE program(s) do you currently watch? Raw, SmackDown! and PPV's Have you stopped watching any WWE programs recently? No. If yes, why? - What is your opinion of the current state of World Wrestling Entertainment? I think that althought the recent downfall has been particularly harsh on the WWE, the adition of Bischoff to RAW has, in my eyes, improved the product, Unfortunatly, without Austin and the WWF name, the business is bound to slip, and the brand extention, bad idea, the sooner that ends and we get a unified wwe the better i think. It's not a case of sign loads of big names and we'll suceed, which was WCW's attitude in the earlier Nitro days, but if they want to get anywhere, they need to resign Steve Austin, which is a definate. Until they get Austin and put the brands back together, we aren't going anywhere, but hey, i'll still watch. Thanks for filling this out.

Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted November 22, 2002 Where do you live? Ottawa, Ontario, Canada How long have you been watching wrestling? About 17 years. What WWE program(s) do you currently watch? RAW, SmackDown!, sometimes Confidential Have you stopped watching any WWE programs recently? Stopped buying the PPVs. If yes, why? Didn't want to waste $35 on stuff I didn't like. What is your opinion of the current state of World Wrestling Entertainment? While they're in no danger of going out of business, I think there's a distinct lack of creativity that is hampering the product. Despite the roster being more loaded than it's ever been with great talent, it is being greatly under-utilized. There's also a growing leadership problem, as Vince McMahon is growing increasingly out-of-touch with his fanbase, and continues to rely on the same people when it's obvious the fans want to see something new. Vince's fascination with big men also continues to hurt the product, as talent now almost exclusively resides with smaller men who, as a result, are under-pushed relative to their talent. Guest El Luchadore Magnifico Report post Posted November 22, 2002 Where do you live?: Columbus, Ohio. How long have you been watching wrestling?: Approximately four years. What WWE program(s) do you currently watch?: Smackdown, and occasionaly Heat and Velocity. Have you stopped watching any WWE programs recently?: RAW If yes, why?: Because it simply doesn't entertain me anymore. While Smackdown's angles and storylines are usually just as retarded as RAW's (sans necrophilia), it's excusable because Smackdown backs up the idiocy with great wrestling and a very well-booked main event scene. What is your opinion of the current state of World Wrestling Entertainment?: I feel that the WWE is not in that bad of shape. While house show attendance, ratings, and revenue are clearly down, the WWE still has a good chance of turning themselves around. The big question is if they know how to do it. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted November 22, 2002 Where do you live?: San Francisco, CA How long have you been watching wrestling? Since Jan 99 What WWE program(s) do you currently watch? Raw, SmackDown. I've lost the heart to watch the others, long before the bad TV. Just busy on Saturday night. Have you stopped watching any WWE programs recently? Out of protest? Not yet, but I've strongly considered it. If yes, why? If I can just put down my reason here, I'd like to say that the lack of sensible (key word, there) angles in this fed kills my interest in wrestling as a whole. Good (or even excellent) wrestling is okay, but I like a good feud or something to get me into it. The way the programming is currently structured, I can miss a show, find out about the one segment that provided progress to a PPV match, and continue on without feeling like I missed anything. ("So Big Show threw him off the stage? Yeah, go figure.") What is your opinion of the current state of World Wrestling Entertainment? I think it's salvagable. I said the same thing about WCW, too, but I see them in a much different situation than that. Whether it's because of income, ratings, attendance, the locker room, angry stockholders tired of losing money, or even if another group attempts to buy them out, someone eventually WILL wake up in Conneticut and fix things. We don't need any radical new ways of thinking here. What we need is the obvious old way of thinking: Listening to who's over and who's not, and pushing accordingly.
