Guest Kinetic Report post Posted November 23, 2002 I think it's the Buzzcocks who have an album called Singles Going Steady. I've always liked that title, for whatever reason.

Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted November 23, 2002 allmusic.com lists them under the following labels: Post-Hardcore, American Underground, Noise-Rock, Indie Rock. I've heard nary a track by Big Black--I believe LooseCannon has this particular album, though--though I do have another Albini-led band's album, At Action Park, by Shellac. They're pretty f'n noisy. I do in fact have this album, though outside of the title (and also some genius song titles), I don't think it has much going for it. I love Shellac and Rapeman, but Big Black just never did it for me. Too noisy, I think. But, Everyone *should* buy Shellac's 1000 hurts for the bubblegum bounce of such classic swinging tunes as "prayer to god," "squirrel song," and "canaveral." You'll thank yourself. Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables is another mediocre album with a great title, though it does have the international smash hits "California Uber Alles" and "Holiday in Cambodia" on it, so it's not all mediocre. But do yourself a favor, pick up Give me Convenience or Give me death instead. That's one to play when your momma's not home, and you got bitches in the living room getting it on. The Buzzcocks, by my reckoning, should have been forgotten like the many other mediocre punk bands of that era that actually have been forgotten. In fact, I can't fathom why they haven't been forgotten. They were just so inconsequential. Anyway, my point is, I have a strict policy of no selling posts that mention the-band-who-should-have-been-forgotten. Even posts that don't express any sort of praise for their "songs." Even Kinetic's. Other good titles (or in other words, the point of the thread): The Queen is Dead The Smiths It takes a nation of millions to hold us back Public Enemy Two nuns and a pack mule Rapeman Steady Diet of Nothing Fugazi Psychic, Powerless, another man's sac Butthole Surfers Feeding the 5000 Crass Christ the album Crass Pinkerton Weezer --what can I say, I've always liked the title. Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted November 23, 2002 I've always been fond of Fresh Fruit's "Viva Las Vegas" cover. There're some other good tracks on there as well, but for the most part that album just falls asleep on me. Besides "Holiday in Cambodia" and "California Uber Alles" smoke just about anything else the Dead Kennedys ever recorded.

Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted November 25, 2002 "Blood Guts & Pussy" -- The Dwarves I totally forgot about that one. With the cover of the two naked women and a naked Dwarf holding a rabbit and all of them covered in blood, it could compete with Big Black's songs about fucking for best title.
