Guest HartFan86 Posted November 22, 2002 Report Posted November 22, 2002 I was sitting here reading bps's rant on why RVD was gunna win the elimination chamber and I thought of something to myself. I think the reason RVD didn't win was because they felt if he beat HHH, he wouldn't get the rub he would get if it was in a singles match and against a bigger name. Everyone's always wanted RVD vs. HBK cause their styles were always a like. I feel WWE decided that if they built up a singles feud between these guys for the World Heavyweight Title and have HBK job to RVD, it would give RVD a rub major cause he beat "the" Shawn Michaels and "he" can win the big one (much like Jericho last year.) I think WWE feels that doing this, RVD will get more from beating HBK as opposed to HHH. Just my random thought, though. I'm going to sleep like right now....so if feel free to discuss, but if you want to talk to me you won't get a direct answer right away.

That's hardly a notable place for such a match. And yes, Shawn has a rub to offer that HHH simply does not. HHH has no credibility at this point so I don't think RVD would even get a rub (it'd be more like "thank god the title is off HHH"). Shawn has really only given a rub to ONE guy ever and that was Austin, who was already more over than him anyway.

It isn't Shawn's fault Sid is a no-talent hack who never capitalized on his clean victory over Shawn. 2. It is Shawn's fault that he refused to job to epople who could have done just that: Mick Foley, Vader, etc.

Therefore, he has a better shot of winning the title any time he is in a match without HHH.

I firmly believed a three month Vader reign culminating in dropping the title to Taker or Bret could have spiked business temporarily while Austin feuded with Shawn. Too bad they made Vader a putz right after this.

Flair got it because he was the only guy who wasn't damaged goods left, and even then he didn't job the champ to him. I would have liked to have seen Undertaker vs. Flair The look on Flair's face when UT no-sells a low-blow would have been priceless.

Well, I think Flair pulled a miracle out of his ass and carried Vinnie Mac to an excellent match at RR, but I concede that most people see the UT match as better. I *loved* HIAC. It was an amazing power match that brought back WarGames memories.

The only good ones were the Dangerous Alliance one and the First few with The 4 Horsemen. Taker/Brock brought back WarGames memories because of the big-ass cage and the blood.

Dangerously They were opposed by: Sting Ricky Steamboat Shane Douglas El Gigante Dustin Rhodes They produced some fucking classic battles, and they're much more entertaining then that *other* stable who wanted to destroy WCW.

What I would like to see is Michaels retains over RVD due to HHH interference on Raw, which leads to RVD vs. HBK vs. HHH at Armageddon. HBK will retain again and then at the Royal Rumble have HHH vs. RVD and have HBK vs. Booker T in which Booker will win and Michaels will actually help elevate Booker.

The only good ones were the Dangerous Alliance one and the First few with The 4 Horsemen. Pah. The NWO vs WCW WarGames in 97 wasn't that bad for the story it told, except Hogan was as stupid as ever (check out him trying to "sneak up" on someone with a double axe handle at the end there.. =b) and Luger standing one moment and then the next selling the legs so much that he had to CRAWL backstage... WTF? Geez. Hogan and Luger fucked up a match. Who would have thought?

Still, in the first nWo Wargames match (if there was more than one), I still SUPER markout for Flair coming out and strutting like a mofo in the other ring. Heenan kicked ass on commentary too. "YEAH! THAT'S RIGHT! MAKE THEM COME TO YOU! MAKE THEM COME TO YOU!" WarGames kicks ass if you've got great commentary and use of the two rings in intelligent ways. I'd love to see what Rey could do with the two rings. (Rey/Brock/Edge/Angle v. Chavo/Benoit/Eddy/Mattitude is looking like a good setup, but I doubt we will or would ever get it thanks to the Elimination Chamber. )

Well, if you're speaking of the match with Team Piper vs. WCW vs. nWo the match itself wasn't bad, but the booking pretty much said that the over-the-hill nWo was here for as long as they wanted. New stars be damned.
