Guest pappajacks Report post Posted November 23, 2002 I believe there are new standards in broadcasting information. The Instant updates shown below the screen on CNN news and the news headlines displayed on MSN ( internet) create a site for personal opinions. How conclusive is this information if reporters add their personal comments? The modem communications technology has introduced one to many new cultures. The world appears much smaller. The link between mankind and space places the viewer along side with the astronaut. . The tech-terminology has brought forth a new language: upgrade, download, virus, server, email, curser ...words that are interpreted by what situation the person maybe in or when one is using a PC. One does not have to go to far to buy clothing, furniture, a vehicle, a house or to contact a loss relative. Banking is done online. All of these factors has also created an unsocial environment. The physical contact ( all senses) , sound of a voice or the touch of the item you may want to purchase is now at the touch of a keyboard. One of my concerns regarding this is that we have become desensitized to these images and therefore regard them as ordinary occurance, which no doubt underplays the severity of the actual situation.
