Guest The Hamburglar Posted November 24, 2002 Report Posted November 24, 2002 Next Bond = Clive Owen. He could be an even better version of Dalton with a bit of Brosnan thrown in. Either him or Christian Bale.
Guest ArkhamGlobe Posted November 24, 2002 Report Posted November 24, 2002 I voted for Connery. Moore was my favorite when I was younger, but I've grown to like his performances less and less in recent years to the point where he's probably my least favorite. I think Brosnan makes a very good Bond, the other two I like but I don't think we ever got to see their full potential as Bond. I elaborated on it a bit more in the other thread. As for the next Bond, I was just thinking about this today, and until now, Clive Owen had never crossed my mind, but now that I think about it, he would probably make a pretty good Bond.
Guest cabbageboy Posted November 25, 2002 Report Posted November 25, 2002 I actually liked the one Lazenby was in, it was a much more serious toned Bond movie. It didn't do as well because it was a bummer. Why the hell would they want to do a Jinx spinoff? Good god, Jinx was a SHITTY character in the new movie....why the hell would they give her a movie? My thoughts on Halle Berry's efforts in this film are summed up by a reaction I had to the scene where the heel chick revealed herself. Halle said something like "Bond wouldn't be desperate enough to sleep with you." I found myself thinking "Hell I would nail that hot chick LONG before I'd nail you."
Guest TheyCallMeMark Posted November 25, 2002 Report Posted November 25, 2002 I don't reelly like any of the Bond films but Goldeneye, so I gotta go Pierce.
Guest Sassquatch Posted November 25, 2002 Report Posted November 25, 2002 Sean Connery. When I was 5 years old my dad let me watch Dr.No and I became Connery's biggest Bond fan from then on. You just can not beat the original Connery-Bond who helped define the character that we still pay to see to this day in movie theatres. The orders that I would list the other actors who have played Bond are: Pierce Brosnan - the best choice possible to have revived the once thought dead franchise. Roger Moore - in the time period that he played Bond in he was not as offensive as a Bond as many people make him out to be and did a good job in the role overall. Timothy Dalton - became the scapegoat for a bloated movie franchise that fans became burned out on and is still thought of as a cancer on the Bond name. The Italian Soap star who does not deserve to have his name mentioned - MGM should have just waited for Connery to come back instead of letting the Italian Nobody come in and insult everyone's intelligence.

Uh, what the hell? Are you talking about George Lazenby? He's not an Italian, he's from Australia. He wasn't too bad really, in fact On Her Majesty's Secret Service was a great movie.
Rob E Dangerously Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 The next Bond will be.. William Regal.. nah.. not really probably some guy I haven't heard of
Guest SP-1 Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 The literary bond was scottish, if I recall correctly. His parents died in an accident or something. If I recall correctly, anyway. My personal favorite is Dalton. He's not on the dot, but to me he's fairly close to Fleming's Bond from the original novels. Dark, moody, and while he had a wit, he wasn't so concentrated on corny one liners and such like the modern Bonds have been. Dalton, Brosnan. The others I am indifferent to, though I have much respect for Connery's work as the original.
Guest DARRYLXWF Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 Uh, what the hell? Are you talking about George Lazenby? He's not an Italian, he's from Australia. If what you say is true, then I vote for him as the best Bond, despite never seeing him play the character.
Guest Si82 Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 I voted for Pierce Brosnan. I really think that with "Die Another Day" he really has made Bond his own. He's like a combination of all the best bits of the other guys who have played the role. I was thinking of voting for Timothy Dalton but decied against it. I do think he was fantastic in the role. I watched "Licence To Kill" yesterday and I still think it's a great film. As is "The Living Daylights". As for Roger Moore. I really liked "Live And Let Die", probably me favourite Bond movie, but he kinda went down hill after that. I thought that it managed to use Moore to perfection. Of course it all turned into silly jokes and self parody sortly after. Sean Connery was a fantasic Bond and ranks up there. His Bond was just a hard-as-nails bastard who used women for what he wanted. I haven't seen "O.H.M.S.S." so I can't comment on George Lazenby. As for Jinx getting a spinoff, I agree with caggbageboy. She is SHITTY and doesn't deserve a spinoff.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 Owen Wilson For The Next Bond~!
Guest redbaron51 Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 Sean is the best, but Pierce plays Bond just as well (though Pierce only had one real good bond movie which was GoldenEye)
Guest El Satanico Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 Owen Wilson For The Next Bond~! Owen Wilson as James Bond? Are you bloody insane. I enjoy Owen and find him to be funny, but in no way is he James Bond material. Besides who plays him isn't that important. The most important thing is that they start making good James Bond movies again. I can't remember actually enjoying a James Bond movie since the Roger Moore era. Another thing which movies have Joe Don Baker in them? I get a good laugh out of those and all the MST3K fans know why.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 Joe Don Baker is in The Living Daylights, Goldeneye, and Tomorrow Never Dies.

Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 Baker plays an army general in The Living Daylights and has appeared in Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies as CIA agent Jack Wade, replacing Felix Liter who bit it in Lisence to Kill. I do not believe he appears in the new one, but his character is still around from what I remember.
Guest El Satanico Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Oh I thought Joe Don Baker had been in earlier ones than that.
Guest cabbageboy Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 You know I've heard a few ideas mentioned for a new Bond....Adrian Paul, Clive Owen, etc. Here is one that no one has mentioned but I think is a cool idea: Cary Elwes. He'd be a throwback to the Moore style pretty boy Bond perhaps but I think he'd be dapper as hell in the role.
Guest El Satanico Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Well all three of them look like they are capable of pulling of the pretty boy playboy look.
Guest El Satanico Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 For those who have seen Die Another Day, did anyone else catch the few quick Monty Python And The Holy Grail references during the first scenes with John Cleese? They were two of the only things i actually liked from Die Another Day. The others being the two main villians.
