As many of you may know, tomorrow marks the first and only regular season meeting of the Righteous and Just Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the diabolical Green Bay Packers this year. Many months ago, a wager was made between myself and Kotzenjunge involving this game and the services of a young Vietnamese girl that he has hidden in his basement. In the interim, I've decided to drop that bet (these INS bastards are hot on my trail anyway) and instead will simply brag and boast, safe in the knowledge that no stakes exist and I have nothing to lose. The last time the favored teams of Kotz and myself went head to head, my beloved Florida Gators trounced the overrated Tennessee Volunteers. Will history repeat itself? Will the righteous and just #1 ranked Tampa Bay defense be able to contain Brett Favre and his ragtag band of lovable losers? The answers, of course, are yes and yes.

Yeah, I just realized that my post actually had nothing to do with the discussion at hand. For some reason, I disregarded that The Last Resort or whatever would be a verbal matter.

 

What if he turned that secret weapon on you, Kinetic? I, personally, would be hard pressed to declare you the winner after Kotz struck the, "Hey, you Kinetic Cutie, how are YOU doing?" blow. Kotz flirting with people could spell doom for you, I'm afraid.

I'm overjoyed that my device has struck such fear and makes people feel powerless when forced to face it.

 

At the same time, I'm disturbed that every time I do that, more and more people think I'm gay.

 

And Kinetic, like I said in the Week Twelve Pigskin Pick 'Em, if I had a chance at winning the contest, I'd have picked Tampa Bay, but since I'm #20 right now, I picked my favorite over the probable victor. I won't be surprised if Tampa wins, but I'll be ecstatic is Green Bay beats them.

 

All I know is that if this is anything like their games last year, we're in for a good one.

Tampa gets another shot at New Orleans in the regular season and I'm confident that we'll be able to handle them. Remember that Tampa's loss to New Orleans was in week one and came in overtime when the punter threw an interception in the end zone. So it's not like the Saints OWNED the Bucs or anything. With McNabb out, my pick for the NFC champion would come down to either Green Bay or Tampa Bay, which makes tomorrow's game all the more important. If we still had the Vietnamese girl stip, I'd be overwhelmed by anticipation.

kinetic, i have always called you one of my favorite posters. i love the fact that you write for the site. i even enjoy your musical tastes to a certain degree (who else will talk neil young with me?) BUT dude.... you can only thank the lord above that tampa bay is no longer in green bay's division. you can hope and wish and pray that tampa goes far but they are favre's bitch and ran with their tails between their legs from the mighty pack. then again, they should have never been in the same division in the first place.

All things considered, I'd rather them be in the NFC North at this point. Yeah, you have to play the Packers twice. But then you get to beat up on the Bears, the Vikings, and the Lions! It's the easiest division in the conference, no question. Compare that to the South, where Tampa, New Orleans, and Atlanta are all viable playoff contenders. Even Carolina has a decent team. I am not afraid of the Packers. No, I am not.

Go Alouettes! They used to be in Baltimore and won a grey cup game (which I watched) and lost another one (which I watched as well).

As a Redskins fan, it upsets me greatly that the Eagles are probably going to tank the rest of the Season, and yet the Redskins suck so bad that they won't be able to take advantage of a golden oppertunity and make the playoffs.

 

I hate the Giants, I hate the Cowboys even more..so uh..this is really disgusting me right now as a Redskins fan..

I wouldn't count on the Eagles folding just yet. After SF and StL. the next two weeks they get Seattle then the NFC east. They completely decimated the three division games so they should still win them with Koy. And I think they will win one of the next two games as well.

Brad's been throwing up some good stats lately. I wouldn't go so far as to label the Tampa offense "intimidating" or "imposing" or even "good," but they're certainly good enough to allow the defense to win games. I do not fear Koy Detmer. Damn skippy. A whole lot of people are going to be eating their words at the end of January. If there was only a way that I could insert a clause into Warren Sapp's contract that required him to verbally spar with the opposing head coach at the end of every game, this would be the best season EVAR.
