Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted November 24, 2002 Casino is one of my favorites. It tells an awesome story and the performances of DeNiro, Pesci, and Stone were all brilliant.
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted November 24, 2002 I agree with dreamer. I saw it when I was 13 or so, and I really really enjoyed it. Even wrote a paper about it in an Econ class I took a few years ago. Great movie. Stone was Oscar worthy in it, and James Woods was freaking hilarious. Great flick. Guest godthedog Report post Posted November 24, 2002 it seemed to me like scorsese was just re-making 'goodfellas'. the 2 movies are filmed exactly the same way, joe pesci basically plays the same character...i loved it on first viewing cause i hadn't seen 'goodfellas', but now it just seems stale to me. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 24, 2002 I also like Casino alot, but it really is nothing more than a copy of Goodfellas. You can almost consider Casino a sequel. Casino pales in comparison to Goodfellas, but i still think it's a good movie. However i always did find Sharon Stone's performance to be overrated. It was a good performance for Sharon Stone, but i didn't find it to really be Oscar worthy.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2002 I saw it when I was 15 and loved it ever since. The soundtrack is great too - since it has everything from Dean Martin to Fleetwood Mac to the Animals.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted November 24, 2002 the way they treated the cheaters of the casino in the backroom was a great scene.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 25, 2002 I absolutely love that movie, although I'm agreed on it's comparison to goodfellas, which I absolutely love as well. Pesci's death is probably one of my all-time favorite movie deaths. Just mauled to shit and thrown in a hole. Fuckin' brutal.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted November 25, 2002 I love the movie, but its too bad it had to made by the same people after goodfellas..cause its hard not to compare it and it looks worse but in reality i could watch scorcese and those actors do a million movies like that and still like them all i like Pesci putting the guy in the vice and of course the animals song montage is great our wedding song was the song playing when sam gives ginger the house and the jewlery etc. Joe Bob Briggs minor role is great
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Great movie. It indeed does give off a Goodfellas vibe to it, but that's expected. Joe Pesci and his character's brother getting beat to death with baseball bats disturbed me deeply when I first saw it. To this day, the sight of Pesci's bloody body buried alive gives me chills. And Gimme Shelter is played in the movie. How can you go wrong? Though I hate when they cut a middle portion of the song to a live recording.
