Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted November 27, 2002 The JR/Heyman pairing began to get really good just before Lawler came back. After quite a shaky start there were some great insults flying between them. Survivor Series 2001 was Paul E in his element. I did like JR's snide remark after DDP's elimination in the battle royale. "DDP's eliminated, I guess he can go back and floss." It was all in the delivery.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 27, 2002 I think it was during a Nitro during the summer of '99, and Jason Hervey of The Wonder Years fame was doing guest commentary. I don't think he was out there for very long, but he spent the whole time he was babbling over the other commentators during the matches, as well as talking over the wrestlers cutting promos in the ring. Didnt he do some production work on a few WCW home videos or something? I think I remember reading an article on it a few years ago, when WCW put out those DDP, Goldberg, Sting, etc videos. Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted November 28, 2002 I know he is really tight with Eric Bischoff, which probably means that he had some kind of cushy job in WCW
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted November 28, 2002 Yeah a few months ago I was watching the Hollywood Hogan video(which is a lot better then Hulk Still Rules's actual feature) and it said he was director or producer of the video something like that but is name was on there somehow. Guest treble charged Report post Posted November 28, 2002 Yeah, I knew he had some affiliation with the company, but that still doesn't excuse why they let him go out there and sit at the announcers' table.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted November 29, 2002 The excuse is that it was WCW and no one gave a shit back then. I looked up Hervey on imdb.com and it mentions that he was a producer on a DDP video as well.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted November 29, 2002 The sad thing was that he is even more annoying in real life than his character Wayne on The Wonder Years (A great show, BTW).
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted November 30, 2002 I just watched a Wonder Years clip show and it was fucking hilarious. Wayne was a true asshole of an older brother.
Guest Kid Kablam Report post Posted November 30, 2002 The Wrestlemania 3 commentary with Mary Hart really pissed me off. At least they got rid of her and Ucher for the Steamboat/Savage match. Good Lord that would have hurt the match.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted November 30, 2002 That is why I don't like the commentary from Wrestlemania 2. Too many celebs and crappy woman announcers for my liking.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted November 30, 2002 What I find hilarious about Wrestlemania 2 is that when they get to California the announce team is Jesse Ventura, Lord Alfred Hayes and Elvira. When Jesse is doing interviews in the back, Elvira is in charge of the commentator's table ahead of Hayes, because she gets to throw it back to New York to kill time.
