POST YOUR PREDICTIONS HERE...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

a_banks_sp.jpg

Brad Banks -- QB, Iowa

6-1, 200 lbs., Sr.

Last Performance -- Brad Banks directed the Haweyes to an 11-1 record and at least a share of the Big Ten crown. Now the senior can sit back and wait for an invitation to New York.

Last Game Stats -- Banks was 9-of-17 for 100 yards with 2 TD passes and 0 interceptions in a 45-21 win over Minnesota on Nov. 16. He also ran 7 times for 38 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Season Stats -- Banks is 155-for-258 for 2,369 yards with 25 TDs and 4 interceptions. He also has 80 carries for 386 yards and 5 TDs.

Next Game -- Bowl game - TBD

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

dorsey.jpg

Ken Dorsey -- QB, Miami

6-5, 200 lbs., Sr.

Last Performance -- His teammate upstaged him on national TV, but he did what he always seems to do -- lead the 'Canes to victory. Wearing a soft cast on his left hand, Dorsey managed just 13 yards in the first half, but rallied Miami late, hitting 9 of 11 second-half passes for 150 yards and TD after halftime.

Last Game Stats -- Dorsey was 14-of-26 for 163 yards with 1 TD and 1 interception in a 28-21 win over Pittsburgh on Nov. 21.

Season Stats -- Dorsey is 166-for-305 for 2,428 yards with 22 TDs and 9 interceptions.

Next Game -- Saturday, Nov. 30 at Syracuse

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

a_mcgahee_sp.jpg

Willis McGahee -- RB, Miami

6-1, 224 lbs., So.

Last Performance -- McGahee's 69-yard touchdown just before halftime is the stuff of Heisman winners. But whether he claims the hardware or not, he was the reason why Miami stretched its winning streak to 32 games.

Last Game Stats -- McGahee ran for 159 yards and 2 TDs on 19 carries. He also caught four passes for 11 yards in a 28-21 win over Pittsburgh on Nov. 21.

Season Stats -- McGahee has rushed 209 times for 1,347 yards and scored 19 TDs. He also has 22 receptions for 329 yards.

Next Game -- Saturday, Nov. 30 at Syracuse

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

a_lj_i.jpg

Larry Johnson -- RB, Penn State

6-2, 222 lbs., Sr.

Last Performance -- Talk about a statement in your final regular-season game. Johnson became the ninth running back in NCAA Division I-A history to gain 2,000 yards in a season, doing so with an enormous first half that saw him run for 279 yards and four TDs on 19 carries.

Last Game Stats -- Johnson ran for 279 yards and scored 4 TDs in a 61-7 win over Michigan State.

Season Stats -- Johnson has rushed 251 times for 2,015 yards and scored 20 TDs.

Next Game -- End of Penn State's regular season.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

a_leftwich_sp.jpg

Byron Leftwich -- QB, Marshall

6-5, 230 lbs., Sr.

Last Performance -- Not exactly the performance Leftwich was looking for after missing last week's game. He failed to eclipse the 300-yard mark for the just the second time this season, but did guide the Herd to a win on the road that clinched a spot in the MAC title game.

Last Game Stats -- Leftwich was 19-of-29 for 219 yards, throwing a TD and interception in a 24-21 win over Ohio on Nov. 23.

Season Stats -- Leftwich is 242-of-363 for 3,214 yards with 20 TDs and 8 interceptions.

Next Game -- Saturday, Nov. 30 vs. Ball State

And a newcomer...a profile created by me....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

a_palmer_i.jpg

Carson Palmer -- QB, USC

6-6, 230 lbs., Sr.

Last Performance -- With quick endzone strikes to Kareem Kelly and Keary Colbert, Palmer took the lead over #24 ranked UCLA and never looked back. The senior QB added a pair of touchdowns in the 2nd and 3rd quarter to give USC their 9th win of the season, heading into next week's showdown with nationally ranked Notre Dame (# 8).

Last Game Stats -- Palmer was 19-of-32 for 254 yards, throwing for 4 TDs with no interceptions in a lopsided 52-21 win over the crosstown rival Bruins on Nov. 23rd.

Season Stats -- Palmer is 256-412 for 3,214 yards with 28 TDs and 8 interceptions

Next Game -- Saturday, Nov. 30 vs. Notre Dame

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next Week's Outlook

Palmer seems to be the only Heisman hopeful with a serious match-up next week (ND). Expect the guy to go "balls-out" to get this win, so that the Trojans have a shot at the Rose Bowl (that is, if UCLA can knock off the Gesser-less Cougars).

Sorry to break it to the Syracuse fans, but they will be DISMANTLED by Dorsey and McGahee, especially both who are vying for the Heisman and a shot at the Fiesta Bowl.

Leftwich has to have an eye-popping game against Ball State to even be considered, but odds are he won't finish any higher than 3rd in the balloting regardless.

With no regular-season games to go, both Johnson and Banks have to sit and watch from home.

EDIT:credit espn.com for idea: credit me for CP's profile.. :D

At Number One I have LJ, two is Palmer, depending on his game next week, and number 3 is Brad Banks.

Now if there was a Big Ten Championship game, and Iowa got to dismantle Ohio State, then Brad would almost be a shoe-in for the win. Palmer's play against ND will decide his fate, and I'm just not real big on giving it to either of the Miami guys just because they have an awesome team around them.

Apparently Oklahoma is a Heisman hopeful killer. They did it to Seneca Wallace and now Kingsbury. Look out Chris Brown!

Well, if Chris Gamble from Ohio State isn't eligible, I don't buy it. Not saying Gamble should win it, but the man plays both ways and is always in the game, and it's supposed to be for the player in college football, not the best back in football.

If Dorsey wins it, I might destroy my TV. A barely above average quarterback who happens to have a hell of a team.

Watching Dorsey on Thursday night, I'm convinced that he isn't even the best player on his team. It was a big McGahee run that turned the tide. And though I don't like USC, I have to seriously consider Palmer, he is having a hell of a year. He will be starting on Sundays next year.

For now, my selection order:

1. Larry Johnson

2. Willis McGahee

3. Carson Palmer

4. Brad Banks

5. Ken Dorsey

Like I mentioned earlier Carson Palmer would be my pick. With Brad Banks in 2nd place.

Dorsey's more important to Miami than McGahee. That doesn't mean Dorsey is better, but RB in college is 4 to 5 deep. QB is the toughest position in college to replace.

I will say Dorsey will probably win it(unfortunately), even though I would say either Brad Banks or Carson Palmer would be my pick as to who should get it.

With his performance Sunday I think the Heisman should go to Larry Johnson of Penn State. Dropping 278 yards in the first half and finishing up with 2015 yards for the season. He set the school record for rushing in a single game four different times this season.

If i was voting it would go:

1) Larry Johnson

2) Brad Banks

3) Byron Leftwich

4) Chris Gamble

5) Carson Palmer

Unfortunatly its more likely to go

1) Dorsey

2) McGhee

3) Johnson

4) Leftwitch

5) Palmer

Palmer is gonna be hurt by the East coast bias, it was something i didnt understand until i moved to the Central time zone and dont get to watch the west coast games that i used to see living in Oregon. Players in the Mountain and Pacific time zones have trouble getting players seen enough. I also think this year with no clear cut winner that this year could be alot like last year where Eric Crouch won because he was on more ballots, didnt get the most first place votes, but so many people also had him 2nd and 3rd.

This is gonna be an interesting vote.

I would vote for

1. Johnson

2. Banks

3. McGahee

Those are the guys I have seen a lot of. I haven't seen Palmer so I can't vote for him. Johnson set an all-time record for YPC. And Banks was a stud everytime I saw him. And when I watched Miami McGahee made big plays while Dorsey threw a ton of underneath passes.

Who will win:

1. Dorsey

2. Palmer

3. Johnson

Dorsey was in the right place at the right time and Palmer has gotten a bunch of hype lately. Johnson and Banks are done so they will be out of everyone's minds.

Banks will be helped by being the only canidate in the Midwest. He could dominate in the Big 10 and Big 12 regions of voting.
