Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 24, 2002 This came from the St Paul Pioneer Press, who knows where they heard this or where their sources are. "Some pro wrestling insiders wouldn't be surprised if departing Gov. Jesse Ventura teams with former Gopher Brock Lesnar in a tag-team match Jan. 31 against Paul Heyman and The Big Show at Target Center." This is weird news because Jan 31st is a Friday which means this is just a house show. If they have intentions of doing a match like this, it should be on TV. They might still have that extra ppv time saved initially for the other brand ppv in early Feb, and then the Lewis-Lesnar fight, so maybe it will be on ppv after all, I don't know. Plus I don't know if I want to see Jesse wrestle ever again anyway. But it might be interesting for a one time shot, and I'd love to see a buildup between him and Heyman. Guest BobBacklundRules Report post Posted November 24, 2002 Well there is a rumor that Ventura has been talking with Vince about doing something with Brock Lesnar in the ring, and the next time the WWE is in Minnesota is a house show on Jan. 31st. The last time WWE was in Minnesota, Ventura was in Brock's corner for a dark match so I wouldn't doubt that he would want to team up with him again for some publicity stunt. Now that Ventura isn't governer anymore I wouldn't doubt that he would get in the ring again, but I don't think that it would be against Paul E. and Big Fat Bastard. I hope Lesnar will be in action that night because I'm going!
Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 24, 2002 Yeah if this happens, I will go to the show for sure. I live in Duluth so its not too bad of a drive, few hours. I was also there when the Lesnar match you are referring to took place. That was June of 2001 I think, a Raw taping. Jesse came out with Lesnar and Sheldon Benjamin, but its been so long I can't remember who they took on? Anyway Brock threw out the shooting star press in this one, and I nearly crapped myself. Biggest pop of the night for anything that happened, including the stuff on Raw. Gotta correct ya though, the WWE was in Minnesota at least a few times this year, Last January for a house show and in Sept for Smackdown.

Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted November 24, 2002 I really hope this happens as I believe it will open the door for Ventura to make his return to the WWE as a broadcaster hopefully. Adding Ventura to the broadcast team would be a great move for the WWE as I believe they need another skilled announcer and Jesse is one of the greatest of all time. However, you have to wonder if Vince was upset with the Ventura-ism that I have in my signature right now.

Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Anoka is a nice area, as is C.R. Unfortunately I can't say that much about the rest of the Twin Cities area! I was just down there on Friday for the Wallflowers show and I once again got lost just trying to find a goddamn Arbys.........I have no sense of direction when I get into the metro area. Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 25, 2002 The show was good, I have a friend who is a roadie for them so I got to sit in during sound check, hang backstage, etc. Plus we sat and watched some puro and joshi on the tour bus, so I can't complain!
