Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted November 24, 2002 WWF Compilation Tape: Mid' April-May 1995 is what the title should say. - After going through my April 1995 tape, I decided to put in a little of that because It's on the same tape as the beginning of May matches. - WWF Action Zone: (4/16/95) - Ted Dibiase announces he has recruited Psycho Sid to join his Million Dollar Corporation. Sid does a VERY INTENSE stare with the cameras. - Hunter Hearst-Helmsley vignette. WOW, who would have thunk he went from THIS to the Game we know of today. Future HHH makes fun of the Bushwhackers. The Allied Powers Vs. The Heavenly Bodies: As part of my new style, heres a run down of each mans WWF Claim to Fame and their downfalls: Lex Luger: Main Evented Several PPVs in 1993 and was given the Hulk Hogan push Downfall: Went from contending for World Title at Wrestlemania X to curtain jerking Wrestlemania XI in a tag team match. Davey Boy Smith: Headlined 3 WWF PPV's in 1995, a former Intercontinental, European, Tag Team, and Hardcore Champion. Downfall: Went to WCW where he broke his back on a trap door placed in the ring. Jimmy Delray: Former SMW Champion. Downfall: Wasn't used properly in WWF, became Jimmy Graffiti in WCW Tom Prichard: Former SMW Champion, went on to win WWF Tag Titles as Zip with Skip (Chris Candido) to form the Body Donnas, currently a WWE Agent. Downfall: Wrestled as Dr. X where he jobbed to Brakkus on house shows in 1997. And FINALLY, onto the match. The Bodies attack from behind, and double Irish whip the Powers into each other which does nothing and a double clothesline, and double suplex by the Eng-Am Connection. Gorilla Monsoon & Todd Pettingle are on commentary here. Delray with an eye rake to Bulldog, and Bulldog catches him and taps him in the tree of woe and headbutts his midsection. Luger & Prichard tag in for their respective teams. Monsoon claims something is going on between Diesel & Bam Bam Bigelow backstage. Luger catches Dr. Tom with a gorilla press slam. Todd shills WWF Magazine which features Luger & Michael Jordan on the cover. Bulldog tags in with and applies wrist lock, and nails a scoop slam. Prichard walks into an arm drag takeover and Bulldog with an armbar. The Bodies double team and Delray takes control but not for long. Clothesline by DBS only gets a 1 count. The Crowd is just DEAD for this. Random USA chants even though Luger is on the apron. Delray ducks between Bulldogs legs off an Irish whip and Prichard from behind with a bulldog. [Commercial Break] Back to action, Delray applies a rear chinlock on Bulldog and slams him. He drops an elbow for a 2 count. Double boot to the midsection by The Bodies and Prichard drives the knee into Bulldogs lower back. Bulldog breaks free but gets nailed by Jimmy Delray in the corner. Double Teaming again by The Heavenly Bodies, and Delray with a reverse chinlock again. Luger gets the tag, but the referee doesn't see it, and the Bodies with a double suplex on Bulldog. Davey Boy with a suplex and both men are down. Delray in and he prevents a tag. Prichard kicks away at Bulldog and chokes him for 2. Inverted Atomic Drop & clothesline by Davey Boy. Jimmy shakes the hips and plants Bulldog with a neckbreaker and a snap suplex for 2. [Commercial Break] Back again and Delray misses a moonsault off the top rope. A MOONSAULT? ON 1995 WWF TV?! NO WAY! Luger FINALLY gets the....nevermind he gets creamed by Prichard. Slam by the Dr. of Style, I mean Dr. Tom (hehe, damn it I goofed) Bulldog gets the knees up on him and FINALLY tags Luger who massacres the opponents. BACK body drop to Jigalo and a powerslam for 2. Bulldog I'm and he eats boot. Davey Boy with an Irish whip and the running powerslam for 3 at 12:53. *1/2 Winners: The Allied Powers (Bulldog pinned Delray) Match Thoughts: Lasted a little too long, which was a problem with WWF matches in these days. The "Big matches" that aired were basically mid carders who no one really cared for, or who were getting a decent push. In this matches case, the Allied Powers just started teaming so WWF was putting them against credible tag teams who either were going through the motions or just plain weren't given a push. This match COULD HAVE been better if not for the dead crowd, and the many rest holds applied to Bulldog in the 10 minutes that could have been used more efficiently. - The Head Shrinkers (w/ Afa & Lou Albano) Vs. The Blu Brothers (w/ Uncle Zeb): Fatu: Former Tag Team Champion & Future Intercontinental Champion, became more popular as a "phat man" who gave people the stink face. Downfall: Became a making a difference character who said no to dope, and became popular for his enormous exterior. Seione: Gained popularity as The Barbarian. Downfall: Wore antlers to the ring at the start of his singles push. Blu Brothers: Were identical twins. Downfall: Strong point was being identical twins. Match starts off quick with both teams brawling to the floor. Seione with a shoulder tackle to a Blu. Fatu with a crescent kick to the other and does some mounted punching. Piledriver by Fatu gets 2. Jim Ross & Todd Pettingle are on PBP. Duel headbutts by The New Head Shrinkers. Seione slams "Jacob" and the double shoulder-block him. "Eli" slingshots Fatu under the bottom rope and drives the knee into the head. Fatu lays him out and the other Blu comes in. Eli stomps a mud hole in Fatu and chops at the chest. Eli with a dashing clothesline, and Fatu gets a boot in on him in the corner. Sit down splash by Eli and more double teaming. Jacob with a sleeper hold and Yokozuna & Owen Hart, the WWF tag Team Champions come to ringside. [Commercial Break] Back to the action and STILL a sleeper hold on Fatu. Fatu with a flying double clothesline and Seione in. He headbutts both men down and kicks Jacob in the head. Big boot connects to the jaw and scores the flying headbutt for 2. Fatu is thrown outside and Yokozuna & Owen attack him. The Smoking Gunns kick ass on the tag champions and run in to attack the Blu's. The shrinkers fight the champions now and send them packing. DQ finish at 7:34. DUD Winners: The Blu Brothers via DQ Match Comments: More filler here, as this match did nothing but establish who was contending for the tag titles and who was even the tag champions. If they wanted that finish, the match could have easily been done in 3-4 minutes tops. WWF Monday Night Raw: (4/24/95) - Highlights of Bam Bam Bigelow being pinned by 1-2-3 Kid at Royal Rumble and shoving LT. At Wrestlemania XI, LT pinned Bigelow in the main event with a flying forearm off the top rope. Bigelow seems on the verge of a face turn at the WM XI post event press conference. Highlights of Sid joining the Corporation. Tonight, Bigelow challenges Diesel for the title. - Backstage interviews with Diesel, Bam Bam Bigelow & Ted Dibiase. - WWF In Your House Report: LIVE! May 14, exclusively on PPV. Todd Pettingle runs down the card. - WWF Championship Match: Diesel © Vs. Sid - Razor Ramon & 1-2-3 Kid Vs. Jeff Jarrett (Intercontinental Champion) & Roadie - Bret "Hitman" Hart Vs. Hakushi Todd runs us through the house details to exclusive video shots of it. - Psycho Sid interview. The Camera does a close up of his face for the whole time. - WWF-Championship Match: Diesel © Vs. Bam Bam Bigelow (w/ Ted Dibiase): Diesel: Won All 3 major titles in 6 months. Went on to form the nWo and end Goldbergs winning streak at Starrcade 1998. Downfall: Tore a muscle in his bicep earlier this year, and tore his quadricep in 10 seconds into his first in ring action since coming back from the previous injury. Bam Bam Bigelow: One of the most agile 400 pounders in North American Wrestling, became a WCW Hardcore & Tag Team Champion as a member of the New Jersey Triad. Downfall: Left WWF after 7 months of his a supposed main event push due to his face turn. Underutilized in WWF for his entire stay. Bigelow starts with a go behind takedown which s blocked by Diesel and he sends Bigelow to the mat, and he rolls to the outside. Shoulder block by Bigelow, nothing happens. Diesel with a series of clotheslines and a splash in the corner. Back elbows connect to the side of Bigelows head and Diesel with a hip toss that resembled a belly to belly. Diesel with a foot choke in the corner. Bigelow unloads and rakes the eyes, and Diesel grabs him by the face and sends him down for 2 with a clothesline. Diesel with a scoop slam and elbow drop for 2 again. Diesel with another foot choke and applies an armbar. Bigelow fights free and drives the shoulder into Diesels midsection. Bigelow with a slam of his own and a falling head-BUTT to the shoulder of Diesel. Flying clothesline by Diesel catches Bigelow and covers for only 2. Bigelow pulls Diesel to the outside and rams his head into the apron, and ends Diesel into the post. Samoan drop by Bam Bam gets a 2 count. [Commercial Break] Bigelow with a chin lock on Diesel as the action resumes. Diesel up and drives the elbow in the midsection, he goes off the ropes, and both men nail each other with their heads, sending both down hard. Diesel back to his feet and splashes Bigelow for 2! Diesel nails a sit down splash on Bigelow in the 2nd rope and calls for the jackknife. Bigelow with a boot to the face in the corner turns the tide and he sends Diesel into the buckle. Bigelow goes for a suplex, but its blocked and Diesel with his own on the 400 pounder for 2 again! Diesel back to his feat and applies a modified chin-lock. Bigelow breaks out and both men trade punches, which Diesel easily wins, but Bigelow grabs hold of Diesel and suplexes him! Bigelow covers for 2. Bigelow applies a sleeper hold to catch his breath as he gasps for air greatly. Tatanka comes out to ringside while I ramble 'bout Bigelow. Front headlock by Bigelow now and into a side headlock, which is reversed by Diesel with a back suplex! Bam Bam hammers away some more. Bigelow chokes Diesel across the 2nd rope and Tatanka gets a shot in on Big Daddy Cool as well. [Commercial Break] Diesel nails Bigelow with a big boot and clothesline and goes for Dibiase who ducks away. Bigelow whips Diesel, which is reversed and Tatanka accidentally trips him! Diesel with another big boot and the powerbomb finishes it at 12:46 to retain the WWF Championship! *** After the match Dibiase gets in Bigelows face about losing to the (1-2-3) Kid, Lawrence Taylor and now Diesel. Bigelow is fired but Bigelow says he can't be fired, and says he quits, and he'll give Dibiase a million reasons why. He goes for him, but IRS & Tatanka are on the attack and beat the snot out of Bam Bam. Sid comes out and drives the boot into Bigelows midsection several times, and powerbombs him as well!! Show on my tape cuts off here, but I thought Diesel came out to make the save. Winner & STILL WWF Champion: Diesel via pinfall Match Comments: Not what I thought would come out of Bigelow & Diesel. Instead of countless rest holds, they actually put on a wrestling match for the most part, and It seemed like they were trying their best to put on a good match. I expected to fast forward through this match but in actuality I quite enjoyed it. - WWF Monday Night Raw Next Week: Razor Ramon takes on Sid! - Recap of The Action Zone (4/30/95) (Shown on 5/1/95 RAW) WWF Intercontinental Championship Match: Jeff Jarrett © (w/ Roadie) Vs. Bob "Spark Plugg" Holly: Jeff Jarrett: Became the 1st ever 5x WWF Intercontinental Champion. Dubbed the Chosen one in WCW, and is partial owner of NWA:TNA. Downfall: Lost to Chyna in his last WWF match and beat up women. Bob Holly: Went on to become a multiple time Tag Team & Hardcore Champion as Hardcore Holly. Tough Enough 2 trainer. Downfall: Joined the JOB Squad. Teamed with Bart Gunn as the NEW Midnight Express. The Roadie: Became Road Dogg Jesse James to form the New Age Outlaws with Billy Gunn, and went on to win several tag team titles. Downfall: Competed as The REAL Double J and sang with MY Baby Tonight every time he came to the ring. Match is shown from the end when Jarrett pins Holly after laying the boots into his face, and rolling him up with the assitance of the 2nd rope. Afterwards, another referee comes out and debates what happend so the match restarts. Holly comes off the top rope with a clothesline and covers for 3, even though Jarretts feet were on the ropes for the title. These 2 men did the SAME finish a year ago from this date. Bob Holly is mentioned as Intercontinental Champion, but I have to look that up. A rematch is set for the next Action Zone I believe. Winner & "NEW" Intercontinental Champion: Bob Holly by pinfall Match Comments: Didn't really see the match but they did the same thing with Goldust & Savio Vega a year later. WWF Monday Night Raw: (5/1/95) - RAW last Week! Highlights of Bam Bam being ousted by Dibiase's Corporation, and Sid, Tatanka, & IRS lay a shit kicking into him, culminating with a Sid Powerbomb. Diesel DID make the save so I was right. In the end Diesel & Bigelow shake hands to the ovation of the fans, adding the final touch to Bigelows face turn. In Your House Report. LIVE! May 14 Todd Pettingle says the PPV costs $14.95 and runs down the card as followed. - Razor Ramon Vs. Double J & The Roadie 1-2-3 Kid severely injured his neck prior to this and was taken off all House Cards and TV tapings as a result. - WWF Championship Match: Diesel © Vs. Sid - Bret "Hitman" Hart Vs. Hakushi Lets not forget the house the WWF is giving away at the PPV LIVE EXCLUSIVELY on PPV. Razor Ramon Vs. Sid (w/ Ted Dibiase): Razor Ramon: Former 4x WWF Intercontinental Champion. Founding member of the nWo. Former WCW Tag Team, United States & Television Champion. Downfall: Returned to WWE in 2002 and made a boob out of with the alcoholic jokes, and being fired 3 months into his tenure back. Sid: Former WCW & WWF champion. Former IV Horsemen member. Downfall: Would rather play Softball then be a professional Wrestler from his track record. Vince Mcmahon mentions of Sid beating the crap out of Aldo Montoya this past weekend, and brings up Shawn Michaels from 4/3/95. Razor Ramon comes to his usual pyro in the ring, but Sid jumps him from THROUGH the pyro and clotheslines Razor Ramon from behind! Sid powerbombs him soon after not once but TWICE. Match never started. Diesel makes the save again. Winner: No Contest. Match Comments: Again, Sid was used to beat the tar out of Diesels friends, which helps build up to a match that will lack talent at In Your House. So far Sid has taken out Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon and new Diesel buddy Bam Bam Bigelow. - Bret Hart comes to ringside for an interview with Vince Mcmahon. Lawler calls him out and issues a challenge to Bret for a match at In Your House. Lawler, thinking Bret would refuse because he has a match already sanctioned, thinks he has Bret one-uped into looking like a wimp, but Bret Hart takes Lawler up on his challenge as well and will face both men in singles matches on the PPV! - WWF Superstars: (5/6/95) - Video Highlights from the 4/15/95 Superstars where The Smoking Gunns defeated The Shoguns (Kwang & Hakushi). Hakushi & Kwang cost each other the match by accident and end up brawling afterwards. Side Note: Billy Gunn teamed up with Big Show as The Show-gunns for a few weeks, which adds to the list of funny coincidences. By the way, I have this match on another tape. - Hakushi (w/ Shinja) Vs. Kwang: Hakushi: Had a great match with Bret Hart on the 1st In Your House and with 1-2-3 Kid at Summerslam. Downfall: Barry Horowitz's friend and student in english lessons. Kwang: Went on to become Savio Vega. Downfall: As Savio Vega formed a stereotypical stable of Puerto Ricans in the Gang Wars embarrassment. Neither man had that good of a career in WWF, as Hakushi only hung around for less then a year while Savio Vega just went through the motions of being a Puerto Rican. Hakushi jumps Kwang before the match and puts him down with a chop. Kwang with martial arts kicks sends Hakushi outside. Hakushi from behind kicks at Kwangs leg. Hakushi with a handspring elbow in the corner to no reaction and a foot choke. Hakushi with a modified bronco buster to Kwang and gets booed. Hakushi puts the boots to Kwang and slams him. Kwang fights back with his martial arts crap. Michael Hayes & Vince Mcmahon on PBP btw. Hakushi gets laid out and Kwang with a big boot. Hakushi with a thrust turns the tide and he chokes away. Headlock by Hakushi as the announcers speculate Bret Hart's matches for In Your House. Both men trade chops and Kwang with a side suplex. Kwang spews mist, and the tape cuts off. Damn it! Match went about 6:00, by the looks of it, 1/4* Winner: Hakushi via pinfall. Match Comments: Boring with No Crowd support since Kwang turned on Wippleman yet no one cared. Kwang would turn into Savio Vega a mere 8 days later at In Your House, while Hakushi continued to curtain jerk. This was obvious to put Hakushi over since he was set for a feud with Bret Hart. - A Bret Hart/Jimmy DelRay match is cut off 30 seconds into the match so no need to review that, even though I would have liked to seen it since Delray was pretty good and Bret was almost god when it came to working good matches. This ends part 1 of this comp. rant. Part 2 will be out in a day or 2 Pretty Mediocre start to this tape, but its not enough to complain yet, since their is still 2-3 more hours of footage to go through.
