Guest EQ Report post Posted November 25, 2002 http://www.planetgamecube.com/news.cfm?act...on=item&id=3679 Someone posted that link in another thread. I figured this news was big enough, that it deserved its own thread. If you don't wanna read the link, it basically boils down to that the first (100,000?) people to pre-order Zelda on GC in Japan will recieve a bonus disk that contains the ENTIRE OoT N64 game, plus the previously unreleased Ura Zelda... plus some trailers and demos for other stuff... but who cares about that for now. I think this would be SWEET if it came out here, but for some reason, I don't see Nintendo doing it. What do you think? The article also mentions that there are rumors of Majora's Mask being thrown in too. (That would just kick all kinds of ass)
Guest MrRant Report post Posted November 25, 2002 I think they will pop it in to spike sales.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Zelda will spike sells with bonuses or not.
Guest EQ Report post Posted November 25, 2002 You think? Or do you think that too many "American Gamers" as these sites like to call us will be turned off by the cartoony graphical style? I don't give a fuck... yeah I would have liked the Spaceworld 2000 graphics, but let's face it... this is Zelda... the game is going to kick ass
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted November 25, 2002 I think Zelda will be better than Metriod Prime, and this is coming from someone who hasn't played either game so it's a moot point.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Nintendo will do it, and Im willing to bet that it will be included with the new Zelda game instead of just being a preorder bonus since A - There are so many ways to preorder a game in the US that it would be hard to keep track of and B - A ton of people have already preordered Zelda and would be pissed if they couldn't get the disc because they preordered ahead of time. Nintendo should just make the bonus disc a pack in, raise the price of Zelda to 59.95, and it will be HUGE.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Judging from the pictures I've seen, the graphics remind me of something vomited up by the family dog that had just eaten a box of crayons.

Asuming your talking about the new Zelda game... Unfortunately, Im not seeing it. I've seen video of it in action and I must say that it looks so much like a cartoon, and its very fluid with tons of other effects besides the Cel Shading. I know its a big departure from the series look and feel, but I think the cel shading will make it much better.

An extra 10 bucks for that killer bonus disc, HELL YEAH. As far as the graphical style of the gamecube game, the only gripe I have is Link's character model. I mean, come on Nintendo. He looks like a 5 year old girl. I'm all for the cell shading, I mean hell, they did an awesome job as far as the actual cell shading techniques, but I wish Link's model didn't look so dumb. There was a thing on IGN a long time ago, where a reader submitted his own mock up of a character model they could have used. That model was so much better. I suppose the game is so far along in development now, that it's safe to say Nintendo ain't changing it. Oh well.
Guest EQ Report post Posted November 25, 2002 I found the pic... the one that Nintendo is using is on the left. The one on the right was submitted by some reader on IGN a few months ago

Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted December 5, 2002 GUESS WHAT? ITS TRUE! http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/prod...sp?pf_id=220147 Pre-order from EBgames.com and receive a disc that contains two games: Zelda Legend of Ocarina and the Legend of Ocarina Time Master Quest (URA ZELDA). So, put me down for a pre-order. And the bestest thing is they don't charge the credit card until it ships in March, but the bonus disc should be shipping in February. Other places besides EBGAMES.com should be preordering it along with the bonus disc as well though.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted December 5, 2002 NOA's official comment is still "no comment." EB commonly jumps the gun. You can pre-order Duke Nukem Forever and possibly Team Fortress 2 from them too, if you didn't know. And since they're an online retailer, their policy gives them leeway to get your preorder now and then when NOA says they won't be doing this offer, shrug their shoulders and say "too bad." The short of this is: I'm waiting for other retailers or an official word on this before I believe it.
Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted December 17, 2002 Believe it. Bonus Zelda disc for USA confirmed.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted December 17, 2002 Tis true. They coaxed me into putting my 5 dollars down already at gamespot so that I was guaranteed the bonus disc.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted December 17, 2002 Hmm. I wonder if my preorder counts, since the "official" start of the promotion is Feb 16.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Good news for me, I can get the bonus disc, either shipped with Zelda: Wind Waker in March for free or shipped in February for $5. I think I'll pay the $5..
