1995 Champion Carnival Finals

With the understanding that I don't exactly know what I'm talking about (though I'm sure if it's a blatantly stupid question this will be pointed out to me again) and that I've looked around, seen a few reviews of this match and haven't seen any mention of these two specific spots...

Why does Misawa essentially no-sell Taue's enzuigiri on two nonconsecutive occasions? I don't have the match open in front of me right now, so I can't point out the times, but once near the middle and once toward the end, Taue just hammers Misawa with an enzuigiri that Misawa sells by basically staggering forward. I believe the first time he stays standing but he sells the second one by sort of leaning forward onto his thighs, but still not falling down.

I'm not very familiar with Taue's offense, but these enzuigiris certainly seemed to demand more sale than that. Any explanation why they didn't get it? This seems to be a generally high-rated match, so I have to assume it doesn't fall under "Dumbass AJPW selling."

I haven't seen the match in question though I have seen the 9/10/95 rematch and am very aquainted with both men's offense.

I would say that it isn't weird selling, it is normal AJPW selling. Misawa tends to sell stuff different because of his status as being "The Man". Some stuff doesn't affect him as it would someone else.

Not positive since I haven't seen the match but from your description, it sounds like MIsawa sold it well for how it was used.

Well, the enzuigiris aren't a big part of Taue's offense. If it were the Dynamic Kick he blew off, I'd be surprised. But the enzuigiris he throws are on par with a single regular Misawa elbow or the little Curly Shuffle kicks Kawada throws - supposed to be sold, but not a shitload all on its own and sometimes can be toughed through.
