Cancer...

Cancer, the one word that is everyone's fear. It is one of the world's worst diseases, and it hurts me so.

My Aunt died of cancer 2 years ago, and my Mother has it again (she has had it for the past 13 years on and off. Maybe 10 times all together. Honestly, I have lost count.) Her being sick never really bothered me before, I guess that is because I was younger. She has it now, and it scares the shit out of me. She isn't doing well what so ever. She's in a wheelchair, and is on sooo much medicine it's like she is a 5 year old the way she acts. I am taking off next semester to take care of her. I believe that my education comes second when it comes to the health of my mother. I mean, I might not be able to heal her, but I can take care of her. And I think that is good enough for her, and for me.

Does anyone else have the same pain that I do? If so, talk about it if you want.

It sucks. Both of my grandparents (my mom's parents) died within a year of each other with the same type of cancer. The hard part of it all was that they pretty muched raised me my whole childhood/adolesent life since both my parents worked all the time. It hit me pretty hard. It still fucks with me to this day. They both didn't get any treatments. They just wanted to die in peace since they were both pretty old. It just sucks seeing someone you love and care about sit there dying in front of you and there is nothing you can do. The one good thing that came out of it, if you can say it was good, is that it showed me how strong both of them were. I respect them both more now then I did when they were alive. They showed alot of strenght through the whole thing.

Yes, cancer builds character. My mom is only 5'2, like 125lbs, and is one of the strongest women you will ever meet.

I think cancer is thankfully the only thing that doesn't run in my family.

I'm sorry to hear your stories about cancer. My "Nana" died of breast cancer a couple years ago. And now My mother is scared she might have it because it is somewhat of a hereditary trait and she's a heavy smoker and been having problems with her breathing lately. I guess we just gotta keep it together and hope for the best at times like these.

Cancer has claimed the lives of my mom's mother, her father, her sister, and her oldest brother. My father also lost his father to cancer after being a smoker for years (along with being alcoholic).

Being smokers for a significant amount of time did not help either and the topic of cigarettes is a really sore subject with me. I was born when my mom's mother was in the twilight of her cancer and I was 5 years old when I went to visit her. My mom had shown me a picture of her mom from 10 years before I went to see my grandmother and I was stunned to see how much the cancer had changed her.

Cancer is a scary thing and it can hurt the people around you immensely like it did with my family and I.

I wish your mother the best molestomp and I do hope she gets better.

I have to watch out, many health problems skip generations in my family.

I had cancer when I was two years old. A mole on my foot started getting bigger, and it started spreading. So they removed it. I couldn't walk for 6 months while my foot was healing, and had to learn to walk all over again.

It sucked ass.

Bob Marley died from cancer that started in his toe and the moved thoughout his body finally killing him in '81. Cancer is a piece of shit disease. If you read my post earlier you know why I hate it so much. Not only did it take my Grandparents, but it has robbed the world of alot of good people.

Hey molestomp, I hope your mom is doing better.
