It depends. From what little I know conceptually (and having lived on a kibbutz for a few weeks in Israel), I like the idea of communism because I'm not very skilled and I'm jealous of all the material possessions I want but could never hope to afford. However, given that the Soviet Union and all major "communist" leaders have become little more than glorified dictators, I'm obviously not getting something (or they're not). However, I am taking a class on Marx's Communist Manifesto next quarter and I plan on taking other communist/socialist/etc. classes in future semesters, so I can see more how it's supposed to work, or if I should change my beliefs to be a neo-Marxist (which I really don't know anything about).

 

After all, you can be a communist but not support the ways communism has been falsely implemented. From what little I know, I'd say most "communist" governments are actually socialist anyway. Yet from what little I know I also believe true communism could never exist because of the basic human instinct of greed.
