Guest BoboBrazil Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Word from backstage at Smackdown is that Tazz is not at tonight's show and was given off by WWE this evening due to personal reasons. As of right now, Ernest Miller is scheduled to take his spot for tonight. Miller recently had a wrestling tryout with WWE. I was told after he worked a few shows that WWE didn't like his ring work, but thought he may have a future as an announcer. WWE has been looking for commentators for the B shows for quite some time now. Miller was given an announcing tryout after working the shows. Tonight is probably another tryout for him as well. Since the rating for the show will be down this week due to Thanksgiving, it's not a bad time to give him a tryout. 1wrestling.com
Guest bob_barron Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 SOMEBODY BETTER CALL MY MAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest EricMM Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 He was the best voice at the end of WCW for my money, NBT Sanders included.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 They fire Sanders for Ernect "THE FUCKING CAT" Miller GOD DAMN YOU VINCE!
Guest HartFan86 Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 LMAO. This is so totally NOT the greatest.
Guest AndrewTS Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Oh, fuck--2 WCW has beens infesting my favorite show again? Well, 3 if you count Show. You're already ruined Raw for me Vince, why the FUCK do you want to flush the good show for us now?
Guest converge241 Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 he probably will end up as the Smackdown "chief of staff" or something equally retarded
Guest bob_barron Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 They fire Sanders for Ernect "THE FUCKING CAT" Miller GOD DAMN YOU VINCE! This just looks like a one time thing and he's not gonna be wrestling. Nowhere does it say Sanders was fired to bring Cat in. I'm still marking out
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 I actually find The Cat humorous. "I'm gonna go out to my car and get my gi.. come back and whoop everybody in here!" Funny, of course, because it actually showed him going to his car to get his gi.
ChrisMWaters Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Everybody's judging that The Cat is a bad choice before the actually SEE the show. Let's see what happens before judgement shall be laid
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 AH HAVE SPOKEN!!!!!! Aww, too bad I wasn't going to this (it's a two hour drive away from me). The fact that it was the Thanksgiving show made me not want to go, since they'd be assured to have a food fight and a gravy bowl match or something. Would've been neat to see The Cat though. He was one of the people in WCW that I actually liked. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest razazteca Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 they need to put Ernest Miller on Heat, send Lita to Smackdown to cat fight with Nidia.
Guest phoenixrising Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 I actually liked when the Jung Dragons would sneak up on him and try to beat him up. Ernest Miller is all right. Though I'm curious to see about his commentary. And if he's in a non wrestling role I don't mind him on my TV screen.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Oh this is awesome! I will be one of the first people to hear his commentary since the live crowd doesn't get to hear it. Whoohoo! Look for my full report early thursday morning, Im gonna be up all night anyway.. Ill try and get some audio clips as well..
Guest nikowwf Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Its just commentary for one show....will be interesting who they say he is... niko
Guest Paranoid Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Miller is the Greatest!(Outside the Ring!) :::Hits my music!:::
Guest DJ Jeff Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 I'll be watching Smackdown for sure now.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Its just commentary for one show....will be interesting who they say he is... niko Ernest Miller? Thats his real name..
Guest notJames Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Its just commentary for one show....will be interesting who they say he is... niko Ernest Miller? Thats his real name.. I think niko's referring to who he is in the realm of professional wrestling (i.e. his stint in wCw) as opposed to him being just some schmoe they picked off the street.
Guest Blayde Starrfyre Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 What can I say, I liked the Cat. Although I don't understand why the WWE would pick up him as an announcer but not Scott Hudson. Hudson was great in the old-school Gorilla Monsoon vein of commentary.
ChrisMWaters Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 What can I say, I liked the Cat. Although I don't understand why the WWE would pick up him as an announcer but not Scott Hudson. Hudson was great in the old-school Gorilla Monsoon vein of commentary. They had Scott Hudson for a while though. He was teamed with Arn for a few WCW on WWF TV matches. Didn't last to long, IIRC
Guest notJames Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Scott Hudson took a government job, as far as I can remember. Heh, he traded one job dealing with bullshit politics for another...
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Hudson had his shot with those WCW matches on Raw and Smackdown last year. I remember hearing something about him not wanting to work for the WWF for some reason. I think he was released because he kept saying Linda McMahon was hot. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Dear God. Just put Heyman on there for the night.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 *fires bullet into skull* Oh, not before me you don't! In my opinion Miller was only a good talker cause he was really bad at it in a way...kinda hard to explain, but I never thought he was any good. And in commentary I imagine it's twice as bad. Thanks a lot Vince
Guest SP-1 Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 *marks out* Even though he likely won't be able to use any of his old catch phrases at all, I don't mind him announcing one bit. He was funny in a, "So bad it's good" kind of way for me, so maybe he can bring that to SD! for one night. I'll be there live so I'll bring news on whether the rumor pans out or not for tonight.
Guest Brian Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Unforunately, Cole will probably fall apart without Tazz. They need to bring in Stevie Ray. Cat just shouts out the funniest shit sometimes.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 Personally, I don't think it's the SmackDown announcers that need changing.
Guest Army Eye Posted November 26, 2002 Report Posted November 26, 2002 To me this is great news. Miller is funny and Tazz.. he's had a long time to get used to the job and he still SUCKS. He's gotten worse actually. At least when he started, he was kind of interesting because he was still being Tazz. Now he's neutered Tazz, or should I say 'Uncle Tazz'.
