Raw Ratings Go Back Down

Recommended Posts

If there was no split it would be eaiser to concentrate on the storylines at hand.

How? Two rosters, two sets of writers. Same ratio as one roster and one set of writers.

Oh and if they went with one roster on two shows like in the old days, Gerwitz would only be part of the team again.

Do you even remember what it was like before the split? It was worse than it is now.

Besides, we would now have HHH on both shows.

1. No, the same writers do both shows. Do your homework. Paul Heyman writes for both shows, Steph books both shows, Gerwitz helps out on SD!

2. Not financially, and the split hasn't been good for anyone but the few workers who got an increased push because of it. It was way better in 2001, no matter how bad InVasion got.

Smarts: Damn that HHH!

WWE Execs: Damn that Christian and Jericho!!

I guess the fans just weren't digging the show last night.

What the HELL does HHH have to do with the ratings this week!? I really hate all the moronic 'smarks' that blame the guy for FUCKING everything! Triple H wasnt even on the show till the final 30 seconds or so, not to mention the entire RAW was built around SHAWN MICHAELS and ROB VAN DAM neither of whom go by the label of TRIPLE H.

Honestly, cut the bullshit and realise the product sucks, not just fuckin' Triple H.

No, the fanbase is so small now that it would take something really big to go over 4.0

Take note the word "increased". Not "huge". Not "to the moon".

Whoever who was pushed before the split, are the same that are being pushed to this day. The very few that have seen new opportunities (Mattitude, Nowinski, Women's Division) are being negated by the fact that Big Show, Trips and Rikishi are receiving larger amounts of air time and announcer blowjobs than before.

The only pluses of the split have to be:

--the focus on the "Smackdown Six" on Smackdown

--some of the wrestlers being confined to one show.

The cruisers and jobbers are still on Velocity, and the same goes for Heat. The split have also exposed the roster's weaknesses and played out various match-ups beyond exhaustion (ex:anything involving the "Smackdown Six").

Wouldn't it be refreshing to see RVD vs. Angle? Benoit vs Jericho? Eddy vs. Booker? Big Show facing Stamboli on Heat?

We saw all those already - the first two many, many times, and the last one just a few months ago. I'm not sure if 'refreshing' is the right word.

That's only part of it for me. Like in 1996, it's time to clear out the dead weight in the lower cards, decide who stays and gets a push and who goes down to OVW for the rest of their contracts. Then take OVW's Top 15 guys, give them video packages, and marketable characters, and put them in there.

Well, in another month, when the Smackdown Six are going through another run with each other in various combinations, with Undertaker winning the WWE title ONCE AGAIN, you'll see why I said "refreshing".

RAW got the rating it deserved. This was one hell of a boring RAW. The crowd was completely dead for the entire show.

There was something really weird about that crowd. It just didn't seem like I was watching Raw. Maybe it was because the arena was really small, or because the acoustics were really bad. There were times where the crowd looked alive, but the audio didn't seem to reflect that.

The seeming lack of crowd involvement really hurt the show though, especially the main event.

Refreshing is definately the right word, IMO. I can only take so much of the Smackdown Six wrestling. It's getting really fucking boring.

The fact of the matter is that even though the fans cheer for RVD and Booker T, the writers haven't done anything to make these 2 guys look strong, always booking them as wrestlers that wrestle main events but never winning the big one. The writers are always wasting their time on making HHH the center of attention on RAW, while everybody else is more or less supporting characters for the HGH show.So even though RVD or Book might become champions someday , HGH will still make sure that he is the main focus on RAW no matter what.

I wonder how much of that is HHH and the writing team's decision and how much of it is Vince. I think the one person who has absolutely no faith in Book or Rob main eventing successfully is Vince.

The worst thing about is somehow they've managed to make Booker look incredibly weaker and less legitimate than RVD.

Ok well I think the product predictability is getting to the point where even MARKS know how the main events on FREE TV are going to go. I mean it takes at least 75% of the luster away from an HBK vs. RVD match when for one, it only gets about 7 minutes, and two, everyone knows Triple is going to run in and kill both of them. For those 2 reasons alone(not counting every other factor) why are the masses going to be interested in this match?

I for one taped Raw and watched it when I got home from work and kept an eye on how much time was left before the match started, and it took a lot of anticipation(wind) out of my sails because I knew not only was Triple H running in, but he would probobaly destroy the both of them and once again come off looking like "god".......UGH

I think the main reason for the ratings being so low, is because the WWE isn't really the "in" thing to watch. Back in 1998-2000, it was. They had alot of casual fans that tuned in just because it was so popular, and if you said you were a wrestling fan, you knew you weren't alone. Those fans left, and now we're left with the die-hard fans, like myself. The WWE needs to do something to get the casual fans back watching.

Bullshit.

The show featured naked men, ear fetishists, horrible wrestling, Maven getting knocked out with a book, and the only watchable segment is RVD/HBK, and you blame RVD? (Not the champion, HBK mind you) When quarter-hours come up you'll see a sharp decrease after the various Jericho/Dudleys segments

What a fucking idiot.

Shut your goddamned mouth. I said that SOMEONE's in-ring pop was not equaling ratings. I did not explicity say RVD.

I blame Shawn.

I keep on saying it but they don't listen. You can't keep out Molly from Raw and expect ratings to rise. That is what killed WCW.

Exactly.

Molly = Ratings.

Now...you think you could help me deal with Cataclysm 911...who seems to thing I'm both a fag and an idiot for finding Molly even remotely attractive?

That's not what I said at all!

I said you were an idiot because you thought that Molly's ass was better than Trish's. Which, I tried to point out that the average woman has the same ass as fucking Molly. Normal, everyday, fucking ass.

Then, I called you a fag for saying you would faint.

Don't put words into my mouth.

So I think Molly's ass is better than Trish's. Some people like different chest sizes, I like different kinds of butts. It's nothing that involves intelligence, that's personal preference.

And so I would faint at seeing her. What's wrong with that? I don't see anything wrong with it.

Molly does equal ratings but not in HLA. Molly not wanting to be in sex angles limits her possiblities on RAW, even though she is the best woman wrestler in the company.

as for a solution to increase the ratings, start with the announcers, send Jerry Lawler to a retirement home in Las Vegas and let JR sell his BBQ sause on QVC.

Men don't faint.

Bullshit.

I've talked to about 10 friends on MSN...and they said if they were in similar situations, they'd probably faint.

Just because YOU don't doesn't mean people don't.

Hell, I faint too if I get touched by Molly. Probably not faint, but be at a loss for words. Or probably speak in toungues, yeah that's it.

And what in the hell is this "Fag" business anyway? Is this like a new version of saying "Your mamma!" or "Fat ass" when you can't make a good comeback?

Ohhh, I probably would faint....

If her big ass landed on me...coking on cellulite isn't my idea of a fun time, but if some guys likes that type, more power to him...
