Guest Samurai_Goat Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Ok, What's so morally wrong about it? Honestly, I don't see a point in cloning, but on the other hand, I don't really see what's so bad about it. Where do the morals come in?
Guest J*ingus Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 They don't, as far as I can tell. All the talk of "playing God" is bullshit since it's within the realm of human possibility. Of course, that doesn't necessarily make it a good idea. Nuking the planet until it's a sterile ball of glass is within the realm of human possibility too. In the end, there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
Guest Retro Rob Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 The way I see it, the positives outweigh the negatives because if we could clone whole humans, than we could also clone body parts, which could say MANY lives. Cloning can't really take away life, therefore why not give it a shot?
Guest LooseCannon Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 I don't see the moral argument against cloning either. I believe the postitives outweigh the negatives, because frankly, the negatives aren't at all apparent to me, except some people have decided to call it immoral. If the choice is between progress and "morally" compelled ignorance, I'll chose progress most of the time.
Guest Samurai_Goat Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Ok, that's four who don't see a moral arguement against this. Anyone gonna put up a fight? Or shall this topic fade to black?
Guest DrTom Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 I put up my fight in another thread. There's no point in repeating it here.
Guest griffinmills Posted December 6, 2002 Report Posted December 6, 2002 There is no way of making the blatant robbery of one's individuality and uniqueness morally correct, so trying is futile. Well that leaves things open to debate rather nicely.
