Ok here's my opinion on the "WWF" name:

First of all the World Wildlife Fund? Why not a different name? Like the World Wildlife Charity or the World Wildlife...Something Else! More people care about the name WWF for wrestling because that is better than "WWE". Entertainment? That doesn't sound right. This is just pissing me off! As long as...FORGET IT!

1wrestling is quite reliable actually. They've posted lots of stuff in the past which we knew was true due to developments on TV after the fact. They're not Meltzer-level, but they're still up there.

 

Remember, everyone always thought 1wrestling was a lot more reliable than the Torch, before the Torch recently nailed a bunch of stuff right on the head.

 

The one thing that sucks balls about them is those damn pop-ups. They lose a lot of traffic due to that, I think (including myself). I wonder if the trade-off is worth it?

I have a question. Vince McMahon has "World Wrestling Federation" trade marked, right? No one can take that. Therefore, why doesn't he just call the company that without initials?

Simplicity, I think. I think it's all about having the announcers be able to say it 400 times and hour without sounding really contrived.

 

WWE= 3 syllables

World Wrestling Federation= 7 syllables

 

Plus, they've already changed the name, so what's the point of changing it back now, just as consumers have become used to hearing it?

Okay, so the WWF changed it's initials to the WWE to please the World Wildlife Fund. Yet, they're still on the WWE's case. Get over it already. mad.gif

Many in WWE are growing more concerned with the World Wildlife Fund and their constant battles over the "WWF" initials. They are becoming a serious threat to WWE's business.

This is becoming more and more true all the time. They're getting more aggressive at cutting into the actual product, and since they're legally entirely in the right (Vince signed an agreement way back when and then blatantly broke it for over a decade) who knows how far it will go?

 

WWE Classics in the UK recently came under fire for saying "WWF" in the commentary and showing the old logo. It's now showing old WCW Power Hour until they can think of a fix.

 

I think we can all surmise that the WrestleMania DVD Box Set we always wanted will never happen now.

Whaa?? Considering that "W" has three syllables when pronounced, WWE also has seven syllables.

Absolutly, i'd rather here ol' JR say World Wrestling Federation instead of WWE, but if they did go back to World Wrestling Federation, people would just call it WWF again, and the panda poofs would just find a way to sue them again.

Cause it's not like it's a new name. Sure, if they changed "World Wrestling Entertainment" to something totally different, I see your point...but EVERYONE is used to "World Wrestling Federation." Here's how I'd do it:

 

Keep the logo what it is with the 2 "W's". Call the company "World Wrestling Federation" on TV, refer it as "World Wrestling Federation Entertainment" in the other aspects, and keep the WWE initials for the stockholders.

 

I particular like hearing "World Wrestling Federation Title" as opposed to "WWE Title" in main events at Wrestlemania, but that's just me.

 

Edit: And everyone would get used to it. I mean, they got used to World Wrestling Entertainment fine, right? And even Vince said if he had the chance he'd change the name back to "WWF" and/or "World Wrestling Federation"

You really wouldn't want to hear them say World Wrestling Federation 100 times a show. JR struggles enough as it is now.

 

The simple solution would be Vince accepting that he lost give the WWF a cash settlement and sign a new contract that pleases both sides. Then as long as Vince abides by this new contract his headaches are over.

True, but I'd rather hear it in situations as opposed to "WWE". Example, "WWE" title to "World Wrestling Federation" title.

 

I shouldn't even try to help out with ideas, cause it's Vince's fucking retardness that blew the "WWF" name in the first place.
